I have ridden The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's California Adventure. It's my favorite version of the ride since The Incredibles 2004 Sneak Peak on DVD.

The original. It has a huge section of the park dedicated to it. The gardens, the courtyard, the terrace. It’s like a whole resort. Also, the elevator moving through the hallway is terrifying and builds up so much suspense. Can’t beat it.

Till this day, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout is the most unnecessary ride even though the Avengers Campus is a thing. They didn't have to replace the Tower of Terror at all, especially since Mission Breakout just doesn't mix well with Disney California Adventure at all (not even in Avengers Campus due to Mission Breakout's story and setting)

Fr it was my favorite ride as a kid so I have so much nostalgia from it and I’m in California so now I have to go all the way to either the other side of the world to Tokyo or the other side of the country to Florida to ride it again

As someone who actually likes the ride, I 100% agree that it never needed to exist. You're right about it not fitting in, it's never felt right in DCA. And not to mention how the sightlines have been ruined, especially Buena Vista St. That building is cool up close, but it's so ugly compared to its surroundings.

To be honest Tokyo Disneysea has a ride that is completely original, it’s not based off of anything and I love that it really did something different while keeping the tower of terror feel It’ll always be my favorite version

Hotel Hightower is part of the larger Society of Explorers and Adventurers story, so it wins in terms of themeing and lore.

I went on Tower of Terror in Florida and while I didn't think the ride to be *that* good, the general eery theming and vibe were excellent and timeless. They can run that ride forever with minor embellishments and it would be as fun as it is now. I can't believe they would reskin the Disney Land one as a lame Guardians of the Galaxy ride. It just sucks the fun out of it and let's face it, in 10 years people will be saying Guardians who?

fyi they tried to make wdw mgm studios tower of terror a guardians theme but were out ruled by wdw fanatics of terror of tower that disney kept the original. But Guardians has an attaraction which is replacing ellen's energy adventure, which is like a rollercoaster attraction at EPCOT.

@@Aroreiel08it’s not actually drops your feeling. It’s being dragged down faster than it would freefall. So technically it’s scarier than a freefall

The Florida ToT has 4 drop sequences, the new Paris storylines actually only have one drop sequence for each but it is different at the start depending on if you go on the bottom or the top loading floor. If you start on the bottom loading floor, on two of the stories it starts you upwards first and if you start on the upper loading floor on those same two, it starts you downwards. The Tokyo version during its "special" times, IE. Unlimited, also has 3 different drop sequences, each "Tour"/shaft has its own. One thing that I didn't like about the DCA/Paris versions is that the boiler room doors made you think those were the elevator doors but it opened up to a hallway and when you got in, the elevator car was in a big blue room and not in an actual elevator. Tokyo fixed this by having the outside door be a painting and the inside doors be the actual elevator doors, and having fake elevator lights above the elevator car at loading to make it seem like you were in the elevator.

One thing about NDOC is that the drops are a little random depending which floor you get on in the boiler room

The reiamgined Paris version has slightly altered show scenes, depending on the shaft your boarding and more or less randomized drop sequences.

Only been on Tokyo, lined up for WDW but chickened out. Didn’t see California or Paris. Tokyo’s my favourite for everything! (However WDW’s better for queue music tbh, though I do like Tokyo’s. I’m a jazz sucker.)

Hello! I know... what I'm asking is almost impossible. This is where we'll see if the 6 degrees of separation theory is true ;) I'm looking for an extraordinary girl I met at Disneysea Park in Tokyo on July 17, 2023. It was around 5pm. While waiting in line for the attraction called "Tower of terror", we chatted for several minutes and it was more than charming. One of the two elevators stopped working momentarily, so we had several precious minutes more than normal to chat and show each other pictures of our lives. The very sad thing was that just as we were about to exchange names and contact details, we got separated by the organizers and she had to enter the attraction through one door and I through another. At the exit there were hundreds of people. I waited and searched for this rare pearl, but to no avail. So I'm asking the community to please help me. Please note that I'm a French Canadian who doesn't speak Japanese. We exchanged in English. Here's what I know. This girl spoke very good English. She's Japanese. She must be between 25 and 30. She's about 1.65 meters tall. She's from Nagano and her parents still live there. They have a Shiba dog. I don't know if she still lives there or if she's in Tokyo. Woe is me, it's the most densely populated city on the planet 🤦🏻‍♂️. She likes snowboarding over there in Nagano. She has a younger brother who went to Whistler in Canada a few years ago to play field hockey. That day at Disneysea on July 17, she was with a friend about the same age as her. That's all I know. That's all I know. As my English isn't perfect, we couldn't go much further in our discussions, but there was that magic we all dream of. I'd love to continue our discussion. I hope this attempt at a reunion doesn't make me sound too crazy 🤪

Even though I don't like drop rides... For the story wise tokyo disney sea's hotel building & story is my very fav! And original one's hotel building & story is my 2nd fav.!!

I don’t care what people say, Paris hands down. As we know there’s two floors of elevators (drop towers) you can board and the mechanics are quite confusing how they’re both either on top or below another elevator which just gives you more adrenaline. I know this isn’t just for Paris, but another brilliant feature is that if you board the bottom left elevator, )on ground level) you definitely do not expect it to drop first rather than lift up. But that elevator is definitely the most dodgy. Also, in other Towers of Terror at the but where you can view Disneyland park, the Hollywood sign or burnt theming is in the way! So overall, Paris is the best in my opinion.

California adventure one is my favorite and unfortunately a Closed it for a raccoon and his gang think seriously that doesn’t fit the theme of Hollywood I thought that was the whole theme of DCA did you get into Marvel and Pixar adventure what the heak

I can't figure out why I was so underwhelmed by the Florida tower. I grew up riding the DCA one and while it has been over 4 years now I swear it was so much more fun than the Florida one (which I just tried for the first time). I'm sure it's because my nostalgia is for the one I grew up on and because I was younger when I last rode it (making the drops more intense) but I was seriously disappointed with the OG. I swore it was not as tall, shorter, less immersive, less storytelling, etc. but come to find out most of that was the opposite. But I also rode guardians more recently and could swear those drops are taller too so idk. The drops just weren't that fun and I was so sad because I lost that thrill that I love the ride for.

Disney has neutered the ride over the years as they seem to do with so many rides that get rethemes. I've only ridden the OG in Florida and it was a great ride in it's original form. It dropped 3 times from the very top of the sign on the tower all the way down. When they added the randomized drop sequence to it, you could get rides that were great if not better than the original programming or a drop sequence that left something to be desired. I swear over the years it's gotten less thrilling too as the drops have gotten shorter but at the same time less predictable. Everything up to the drop sequence has remained the same, but the drop sequence is not what it used to be. It was consistently gut wrenching in it's original form and felt like you were falling for ages. That's what I loved about it. It's still a fun ride, but it's not what it once was.

It is underwhelming. Florida tot goes forwards too tho with a few and shorter drops. DCAs guardians goes really high which is great doe thrill

I've rode Florida, California, and mission breakout in California. 2 weeks ago I rode the tower at Tokyo disney sea. It's a toss up between the original and Tokyo. I think the original wins only because I don't understand Japanese
