I think you’re spot on with needing to incorporate the QB run in the gameplan again. I was feeling the majority of the season they were trying to get JT’s arm talent on tape and pressed the pass game too much or they were just trying to avoid injury. Unfortunately that wasn’t avoidable but keeping him in the pocket so much limited one of his biggest strengths imo and thats creating plays when things go awry.
I love that FSU is always a major player to land these top guys in the portal, God bless TBE and all the fellow supporters. My solace in these dark times? Hogtown is irrelevant in these conversations 😂
Thank you for these videos. I always look forward to your instant reactions and your breakdown videos. As an alum and a lifetime FSU fan my X’s and O’s knowledge is very much lacking. These help tremendously!
@@XsandNoles I totally understand, man. Today's probably the first day I haven't been completely miserable or furious about the deci$ion (but there's a lot of daylight left). Just know we love the work you guys do and I personally look forward to those videos every week with all three of you.
@@XsandNolesplease do it. Aside from all the bs that happened with the selection committee, that was a fantastic game with a master class defensive performance. Also would like to see a breakdown of Brock’s decision making throughout the game…thank you!
Thanks for continuing to put out great content me personally I hope we get DJ with the backs we have coming back we could really hurt teams in the rpo and in the Red zone with a big strong quarterback u can run him there as well
Cam Ward is my top 1-5 choice. DJ reminds me of 2014 Jameis. Not the worst option, but he'll rack up turnovers. His hand placement early in his throwing motion is begging for strip sacks.
Not to mention lazy fakes on run plays and roll outs. Reason he killed Clemson, defense knew what was coming every play. West Coast is a easier style of football. FSU should stay away I believe
Just a few positions to load up from the portal and the retool year could still very much be in the picture for as much as they want to go work and achieve
I'll take cw..reminds me of a former cw at fsu n that was Charlie ward...Cameron ward has similar arm, athleticism and pocket presence and the intermediate passing style of Charlie ward which allows the athletes at wr to catch the ball and then make something happen. Fast break 2.0? Dj might struggle in the acc with his % but fsu would be more quick strick with dj Both bring thier strengths but cw more consistent at dissecting defenses like a surgeon.
I’m always torn on the transfer QB. I think we have to weigh Tate plus knowledge of the system vs perhaps a more talented player but new to the system.
@@XsandNoles sadly we don’t have enough data on Tate to make a judgement. I just have a gut feeling that he’ll be capable but I’ll understand if the staff feels the need to bring in someone.
If we can get Cam Ward then I believe that’s too much upside potential to pass over, but DJU other than the toughness in the run, Tate is just as accurate if not better, and with all the reps DJU has it is unlikely to improve, while Tate likely can only get better with more love reps, also has 4 years in the system so that is a huge advantage in running Norvell’s offense.
Question is if we get him would mike diversify his passing concepts because this kid obviously really good at throwing the short quick game and letting athletes be athletes which we have a plethora of at the WR position.
To all the Nole fans that don’t like DJ. These two gentlemen have shown you why your opinion about him is irrelevant and wrong. My prediction is DJ will be the QB next season and a larger investment will be made in the trenches. Let Mike do this thing and be silent
Seems that every QB that balls out only does it in the Pack 12. Nix, DJ, and even Pennix all moved from places that play defense to air raid. Not sure anyone can tell if they will be good or close to good IMO.
Cam Ward & Dante Moore are the best fits. But due to the high demand & NIL/Money they may have to settle for another QB. Such as MJ Morris, DeQuan Finn or Grayson McCall.
I only watched a small portion of a UCLA game that Moore started and I was not at all impressed with him. But I would be curious what Kev and CoachAB thinks about him and some of the other QB's.
I am ok with either. But naturally prefer Cam Ward as he is unfamiliar with the conference and team so as a result, does not bring perceived ( I stress that word ) baggage nor will the fans have a real idea of his capabilities so perhaps the expectations will be more realistic. I think given the preseason hype around JT and the team this past season, the fans fell for it, and as a result we all ( me included ) had unrealistic expectations. Which is why you saw EPIC meltdowns on TomahawkNation and the Noles247 gameday threads. Anyway, I'd prefer we land Cam Ward, but DJU would not be bad either.
DJ is a non take IMO. All of those "he got away with that one" are picks over here. I just watch Pack 12 and they play is a 7-10 yards off on almost every play. It's crazy
You might as well get over all that not a take nonsense. DJ will be an immediate upgrade to the QB room and give FSU a better chance of winning games it should probably lose next season. Defense and offensive line is the investment that must be made with this stop gap at QB.
He went for 22 TDs against 7 INTs in his last season at Clemson, and that was playing in an offense that didn't fit his skillset. He'll be fine against ACC defenses, and I think Tokarz would get more out of him than any of his previous QB coaches.
DJ would be the best version of himself at FSU. Think about who he'd be throwing too...come on man. He would probably look better than he actually is just because of the system and talent around him.
@@JesseDouglas456 He got benched and they he looked bad. I am not sure Tate is a drop off from him aside from running him more. He will not be an upgrade IMO and more likely be turnover prone.
@@tommygunzz8117 Too early to make a call on Brock. Guy missed half the year and got thrown into the ACC championship game at 18 years old against a top 15 defense with a banged up OL.
I'll add that Tate wasn't put in a great position in an emotional rivalry game in the swamp either. I would hesitate to make harsh judgements on either having to operate a team which in effect shouldn't have been theirs to operate
How do y'all feel about Ward throwing in breaking routes even routes like an eight or a six And I feel we may not have the money to get Ward but I think we could get in the playoffs with DJ, even though he isn't the best option
We thought the same with Glenn but he hardly played...next year we have to blow teams out by halftime and get the backups to create depth incase of injuries and yo become starters in the future.
