In this video Jessica goes over which vinyl is good to use for what projects. When trying to determine which vinyl to use, decided first whether it’s going to be inside or outside.
If it’s going to be inside you’re probably going to want to use removable vinyl. A good example of removable vinyl is Expressions Vinyl Series 31 or Oracal 631. If it’s going to be outside or on a car it’s going to need to be permanent vinyl.
A good example of permanent adhesive vinyl is Expressions Vinyl Series 51 or Oracal 651. If you’re wanting to do a project with clothing or on some type of fabric, you’re going to need to use heat transfer vinyl.
There are a lot of different Heat Transfer Vinyl’s. All EasyWeed, Stripflock, Holographic, Brick, and of course glitter.

I will recommend using a permanent adhesive vinyl. We have not tested this yet, but from what we have heard it will not take the wax off the flooring.

Transfer Tape is commonly used with Adhesive vinyl. It transfers your vinyl decal from the backing sheet to your desired project. HTV comes with a carrier sheet already attached to the HTV, the carrier sheets acts like a transfer tape.

Hello, without knowing the composition of the fake leaf, I would start with an outdoor permanent adhesive. Some fake plants have a waxy like surface that may interfere with the adhesive. You could add a laminate on top of a glitter vinyl to protect from fading.

We've never tested it on these bags, but I would imagine it would work. You could always do a test piece and see if it adheres.

my customer wants a tile with vinyl to be used outside. I was thinking 651, but would I have to seal it?

Yes use 651 it can handle the temperature swings and won't crack. It also has a permanent adhesive. You will not need to seal it. Just let it set for 24-48 before getting it wet.

HTV is the one you will use to iron on, with embroidering around the edges we can not guarantee that it will adhere correctly when pressed onto the fabric.

Hi, there are a lot of different types of foils out there. We carry metallic vinyls that look a lot like foils and can be found here - expressionsvinyl.com/permanent-adhesive-vinyl/metal-look/ For Heat Transfer Vinyl we carry a few that have a metallic look to them like a foil would and can be found here - expressionsvinyl.com/siser-heat-transfer-vinyl/metallic/ We also carry what is called Deco Foil. This one is used with easyweed adhesive and uses that to apply to a shirt or paper. Hi, using vinyl on balloons is a fun way to add a little design and color to them. Since you aren't really worried about the long term and how they will last, any type of vinyl will work. You'd just want to decide on the exact look you are going for at that point. If you want a glitter look then glitters might be a good option. If just a solid color then any of the permanent or removable would be great.

Hi, there are several different types of heat transfer/iron on vinyl. We carry the Siser Brand and use that one. They work great on the different types of surfaces you'd want to try them on. There is anything from just a matte finish look to the vinyl all the way to glitter. It would depend on the look and feel you were going for on the type to use. What type of vinyl would you recommend for a wall decal inside a bathroom that is consistently used? I have an Oracal 651 matte finish intermediate vinyl that I purchased at Micheals but I am unsure of what to use for this since it is in a moist environment.

Hi, where it is an interior wall we'd still recommend removable vinyl. You would want to ensure that the wall was completely dry before applying it and then once you do apply the vinyl, allow it to cure on the wall for at least 24 hours before it gets exposed to the moisture again. Hi, the Oracal 651 is a glass finish and is permanent. There is Oracal 631 which is matte finish and is a removable vinyl. The only difference between that one and Series 31 is just the brand. Hi Ashley, all the heat transfer vinyl that we carry requires at least 280 degrees to adhere. If you are doing it on satin, you can apply it at that temperature. Low energy surfaces will require a high tack vinyl for good adhesion.

Hi Stacey, yes, you can use that as well if you would like. It is stickier as it is designed for be a permanent vinyl. However, if you are just applying it quickly and then painting and removing, it will be fine. We don't recommend leaving it on there for a long time. Hi, we'd recommend a permanent vinyl. However, those watch bands are usually made with silicon and vinyl doesn't really stick well to them so there is no guarantee that it will stick or stay unfortunately.

Are you using a HTV on the PVC? You would want to use a adhesive vinyl for this project.

So I accidentally cut a removable vinyl for an outdoors porch sign. If I seal it will it last?? Or do I need to buy another roll of vinyl (permanent) & re cut?

We do not recommend sealing your vinyl for signs because sometimes the sealant interacts with the adhesive. For best results I would recommend getting a roll of permanent, but you can temporarily use the removable, it just won't last as long.

You could use a permanent adhesive vinyl, but smaller letters are very difficult to work with. You could also use the inkjet printable adhesive vinyl just make sure to put the laminate over it. expressionsvinyl.com/printable-vinyls/

I want to put my logo on a silicone bag. What kinda vinyl would you suggest? Bag will be used inside and outside.

Unfortunately, we do not carry a vinyl that would adhere to silicone.

You will want to use an adhesive vinyl (either removable or permanent depending on what you want to do with it) on plastic storage containers

Oracal 651 is a permanent adhesive. EasyPSV permanent will also work.

Do the glitter and metallics come with removable adhesive? I'd like to put them on my kitchen and bathroom cabinets but without ruining the paint underneath
