I’m a big fan of the Whigfield project, BUT it bothers me that Annerley Gordon does not get any credit for the Whigfield voice the fans know and love. I guess we’ll never know the full truth, but I really hope it’s Annerley’s choice not to perform Whigfield songs. If she is restricted for legal restrictions after all this time, to me that seems incredibly unfair. This is a great performance though, and I’m glad Sannie is keeping the project alive
Sannie is a very amazing performer and thanks God she is trying to keeping the project alive with the performances at least.... But of course the voice of Annerley used in the original songs its an completely other thing.... way better, but the end who cares? Enjoy and loves 90s

Annerley Gordon was the voice behind Whigfield up until 2012 and Sannie just mimed. Now Sannie does the vocals on all Whigfield tracks since 2012 (the “W” album is brilliant) and performs all the old hits with her own voice used.
Thanks for your comment. Ann Lee has publicly stated she did not contribute even backing vocals for Whigfield. Her vocal style is high-pitched and nothing like Sannie. You need to witness the video of Close To You from Top of the Pops in 1995 which proves Sannie sang live in front of a studio audience who were scrutinising her from a few feet away. This proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that Sannie was the voice of Whigfield.
Until proof can be provided it is wrong to continuously denigrate Sannie. Does anybody really believe she has sustained a 30 years career using the voice of someone else? Ann Lee sings in a much higher register. Those who insist otherwise are delusional.

That's not the same voice you hear on the original track. Annerley Gordon was the real singer on the original ones. Sannie re-recorded the tracks after 2012.

Heighten the pitch of sannies voice and it's the voice of the original release. Annerley wrote the lyrics with Davide riva, that's her only input. Sannie has posted many Instagram pics of her gold certifications for her sales of Saturday night, the awards were awarded to sannie carlson, not annerley. This whole annerley conspiracy has no substance or evidence of truth
@OCaradaTI Me too!!!! It's Annerley's voice that made the song to be as huge as it was. If Sannie had originally recorded it, I doubt it would've had the same impact. Many people think that the success is all due to Sannie but what they forget is that 'Saturday Night' was already a hit way before she joined Whigfield, it was when that track became a hit that they hired her to become the face of the project. If the song had flopped, she would've never been there in the first place.
Have u noticed that this is the only TV channel in Italy that supports hoax singers ? First they brought Corona, now Whigfield. Nobody else calls this people but Rai. It's impressive. I wonder if Rai gets paid to support this circus or something 😂
actually you'd be surprised to know that corona and whigfield and various other projects are constanty hired to perform around the world :) who cares. people just need to enjoy the music and be greatful that these projects are still alive. might be a surprise to you but 80% Of Italian dance acts were the exact same, german too
Unfortunately those who represent the various projects are called and therefore it is normal that they cannot be called Annerley Gordon for Whigfield and Corona for Sandy Chambers and Jenny B (even if everyone knows they were not the real singers). In the end people only think about dancing, having fun and remembering that beautiful decade.
