"I'm not anti-social, I'm anti bullshit" goddamn bro it hits so hard. Sometimes i feel alone while I try to be realistic and visionary thinking about my dream. I left every mainstream thing and I think it makes me become anti-social. But this song realized me that I'm not anti-social but I'm leaving from bullshits arround me. Thank you for this, hail for you While She Sleeps
@@teo-medesi Antisocial means sociopath. Not giving a shit about human contact is "asocial". People use the term "antisocial" very lightly and incorrectly. Antisocial is the same thing as ASPD (Ted Bundy, Andrei Tšikatilo).
Let me just say, as the owner of a production studio in Brooklyn, the amount of work that went into this video is bonkers. They always kill it with their visual content. They’re the full package.
When I first heard of While she sleeps, they were on tour with Asking Alexandria. My God they put on a great show. It’s bands like this that appreciate a good breakdown which make me a metal head for life 🤘
@@ovchinnikov98 the message is the people is shit thats why im not antisocial im antibullshit the bullyng for people who is alone is the school is so hard i passed for that and i think thats the message and i love it
Nah the message is open your eyes this band litterly just pointed out some major world problems with their platform the guy who got beat up probably becomes unstable ya know like anger wise those kids were hooked to their phones the pig on the table that's alil to deep tbh because we betray our own kind meaning life mabe not in the eat them sense but yes what I mean tho is even detroying habits I'm sure but the main thing is you notice not a difference besides their looks they sit at the table eating together the couple that can mean anything you want it to just like anything the politics but God dam the fish tank that respresents black matter if you will you notice the girl stands behind and watches that could respresents the soul so yeah this shit is deep and prolly why it caught your attention that's how soul works it's mysterious yet there just the name while she sleeps would be a soul phrase that means alot to one if not all of them forreal it's a dam good song forsure thought I'd be the only one tbh
It's really not that hard to understand. I'll break it down for you guys. First off the title "Anti-social" is about anti-society, not anti-social as in you don't like talking to people. Secondly, the message behind the first verse is that the world is turning to shit but no one is doing anything about it and WSS is saying they're not going to be surprised when shit hits the fan. "I won’t be nervous when everybody around us says god we don’t deserve this. And begs before they accept our fate. I want the world but I’m not prepared to work for a change. I think I’d rather be dead" They are talking about everything from climate change destroying the Earth to how much of a joke politics is turning into, humanity is on the fast track to a shitty future and once it comes people are going to ask what we did to deserve it. But the answer is because no one is fighting for change. Then the next verse is about the political divide in the world. "Shit talker, you’ve double crossed your own . You’re gonna suffer like a rat in the smoke. How the hell am I supposed to know. We’re only human is a valid excuse for why my mind's polluted. Do you want the truth or do you want to assume it?" They are talking about the political climate in America with all the dumb shit about "fake news" and how the current president and political party is double crossing humanity because of greed and ignorance. Trump constantly spews out bullshit that is completely false but he acts like anything he thinks is a fact and anyone who disagrees is "fake news" and he's actually convinced a decent amount of people that all his bullshit is true. That's what they mean by "How am I supposed to know. We're only human is a valid excuse for why my mind is polluted" aka too many people believe in his bullshit because they're only human and their minds are polluted with all the propaganda going on in the world. Hence the next verse: "So raise it up, up, up . If you’re sick of these fake smile politics. Up up if you’re sick of this race we’re running" They are talking about how sick they are of all the fake greedy politicians who don't have everyday people's best intentions at heart but act like they do. WSS is saying the whole"It's the other political party's fault! Blame the Republicans!" or "Blame the democrats!" is a stupid race we're all trying to win against each other. When the real problem is corrupt corporations and corrupt governments themselves and people should be working together to overthrow the greedy people at the top screwing over the masses instead of blaming their neighbors. Hence: "Sick of corruption in wealth . Sick of corruption itself. Sick of division in colour, religion. When we’re all the same" . Tl;dr The message is that governments are corrupt and they are intentionally keeping citizens divided so people are protesting against their neighbors in the streets over dumb political disagreements that governments intentionally fuel the fire of, instead of humanity working together to protest all the corruption and greed that has taken over the planet and will lead to a shitty future for everyone. This song is essentially saying "Fuck society. Politicians are in bed with corporations and they're destroying the Earth and screwing over everyday people in the name of profits. And they're getting away with it by intentionally dividing people between politics, race, religion, etc. so everyone is fighting each other instead of working together to fight the real evil." And the song is a shout out to anyone who understands all of that and is growing tired of it.
You couldn't be more Right. I've seen these guys twice, with BFMV and Asking Alexandria. WSS surely deserved to be the Headliner.. They absolutely destroyed Richmond, Va that night... Even came out and met with the Fans and no had to beg for a pic or Autograph.. Classy group of guys
When I see something like this , i feel good to be alive. We are sick of the way society is going .... this has to be one of the best music videos ever made. i could not look away.
You boys and Architects are restoring my faith in the metalcore scene. Fan since first EP, refreshing to see you guys still growing going from strength to strength
Thank fuck for headphones - couldn't have said it better myself, I don't go out of the house without them! Usually with Sleeps somewhere in the playlist ☺️
"you want the truth or you want to assume it?" wow. *slow clapping* that is the most powerful shit i have ever yet heard that speaks for our generation.
Yea it's sad that this type of music doesn't get played on the radio. I about shat when I heard architects "doomsday" for several months on my local rock station. That's the only time I've seen music I like on the radio
I got the privilege of seeing these guys live back in 2019 iirc, and before the show i messaged them on instagram and commented on their page excessively that i wanted this song to be played because my plus one to this concert was my dad. My dad loves this song specifically, and im not sure if they already had it on their setlist or if my comments made an impact but this song was played that night. My dad went apeshit!!! It was such an awesome experience for us both. To make a long story short my dad passed away in late 2021. This song never fails to bring back the memory of 16 year old me and my 50 something year old dad having the time of our lives at that show, and to this day it is one of my most cherished memories with him. He had a huge passion for music. The entire drive home he kept geeking out about how he got to hold Loz’s “sweaty leg” when he stood on the crowd. His passing was painful but that memory NEVER fails to put a smile on my face 😂 So thank you guys for making memories and changing lives ❤
Been watching these guys since “This is the six” their sound keeps growing and I love it. This band embodies everything I love about rock n roll music. Thanks guys keep up the good work!
BFMV and Parkway Drive: "Metalcore has become stale" WSS and Architects: *clear throughts* Edit: I didn't mean to disrespect any of the bands it's actually on the opposite I love all of these bands, but BFMV and PWD have moved away from Metalcore with their latest albums and even stated that (which is totally fine even though I prefer BFMV being more Metal than generic Hard Rock)
Ooooh!! Que grandioso video! Me dejó asombrada, felicitaciones! La canción, la letra , todo! Es lo que se vive, lo que sucede actualmente.Grandiosa produción, impecable como siempre. Ustedes son nuestra referencia e inspiración a la hora de producir videoclips. SON GRANDIOSOS!!
THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL METALCORE WHILE SHE SLEEPS IS THE TRUE MEANING OF WHAT A BAND IS ALL ABOUT I AM FROM ARKANSAS I NEVER THOUGH IN MY WILDEST DREAMS THAT I WOULD EVER HEAR A BAND LIKE THIS BECAUSE I DON'T HEAR ANY ONE ELSE PLAY THIS BAND BUT ME I GUESS PEOPLE IN THE BIG CITY PLAY THIS STUFF ALL THE TIME VS BEING IN A SMALL TOWN OF BARELY 20 THOUSANDS NO MATTER WHERE YOU FROM SOMETIMES YOU CAN BRING THE MUSIC TO YOU. PS THANK FOR GIVING ME THIS CHANCE FOR SHARING MY COMMENTS AND CHEERS FROM ARKANSAS
@@beforeIr0t Mine just picked up my keyboard and started smashing it into the wall. Dad was like "the fuk you guys doing" breakdown started nearing the second repeat and he lost his shit too
This may seem a little jumbled but it's just my initial thoughts. In my honest opinion, this is great. I know many people are saying this isn't as nuanced as their previous work, and at first I agreed with that. However, after repeated listens you begin to catch things that you didn't before. That's how WSS does it. They've found a way keep their own sound fresh, while still sounding like themselves. I believe they're one of the few bands keeping metal fresh and new. In my opinion, this has the same angsty aggressive hardcore/metalcore fusion of their earlier work, and maybe even a little more aggressive than You Are We. But damn those lyrics are relatable for me. Not anti-social, just anti-bullshit. And THANK FUCK FOR HEADPHONES!
Except this is a good song by an artist who had something to say. This Is America is vague and lacks depth that way people can listen to it and think that they have some kind of refined political opinion when in reality it's just being spoon-fed by a rich rapper who is just a puppet of his record label
i think wss has the only fanbase where fans dont bitch abt changing sound/getting soft but they enjoy the music for what it is. Only if all metalheads were like this..... :((
Had to listen 3 times accurately: 1st-to taste music 2nd-to consider lyrics 3rd-to watch the video itself 4th - 3:41 (I actually watch from 3:83 to see the doggy))
What a great song! And that video is perfect, too. I love it, when the visuals are telling a story or giving a message instead of just showing the band "playing" the song all alone in a decrepit factory hall.
First part 0:48 ==> This relates to the idea of "pranks" on social media and how the most important part of anything that happens has to be filmed. Have you ever wondered how all these funny videos, these pranks, these fights, these "the most unexpected things" that we see online are always somehow filmed? You ask yourself...okay mate, why were you filming instead of either helping or being present in the moment. It's cause a lot of these "pranks" or "accidents" are actually planned and just done for the sake of going viral to get a couple likes. 1:21 Not too sure about this part, but I'd say it relates to this obsession that people have of prioritising animals they own over anything and anyone. The pig could also represents all these idiots people idolise online just cause the amount of followers they have. Notice how the pig is the only one eating while the children have got nothing on their plate. And the father is completely okay with that, cause well..he's on his smartphone. What's more important than having his smartphone while eating with the family? 1:43 One of my favorites parts. Showcases how messed our the current education system is. Pay attention to what's on the board, no likes = sadness. This is literally what kids are made to believe these days and that's the driving factor behind all these crazy stunts and that desperation for online fame we see these days among kids. And of course the kids are on their smartphone, not paying a god damn attention to what the teacher says, which is exactly what most students do at schools these days anyway and the teacher could care less...she's getting paid either way 1:58 relates to how normalised it has become to do drugs openly these days. Drugs are not directly shown in the video but I'm pretty sure that was the idea behind it. Anything that is addictive. The irony in this part of the video is that it's a nurse supplying those drugs, and of course one of those addicting things is a smartphone, cause well who isn't addicted to int these days? 2:03 to 2:24 is dramatic but very true. You see a family at home in front of a TV that is switched on but they're all heavily focused on their smartphones. I honestly can't remember the last time I switched on a TV to actually watch it, unless I am playing games. Smartphones are the new TV. They are the new cancer. Keep in mind the girl is in front of an aquarium with blood in t, there's a robbery going on outside but they're not paying attention to anything else other than their cellphone. Cause either way, through the smartphones, they'll find out later on about all these bad things that happened right around them. This is actually a follow up to "Brainwashed" cause in Brainwashed, the cancer was what the media was telling us on TV. We've now shifted to the cancer that social media has turned into. 2:42 to me relates to the state of people who see through the bullshit and who try to speak up, like maybe you, like maybe me. Once you understand the entire madness that social media has become, even when you try to get out of it, you have politicians or "anyone in higher power" for that matter that finds a way to 'get you out of the system' while smiling and keep preaching they're doing it for a greater cause (classic WSS song theme btw). Notice how right before the politicians appear on screen, you have them all on the bed complaining about it and you have a 'so what' that pops up on the screen, meaning "Well you preach about all this struggle...so what" 3:38 for me is the summary of the whole video and the whole vibe of the song. The point isn't that they're anti- social. Social media has got its positive points. Without social media, they couldn't be independent, we wouldn't have known about many other bands, you wouldn't have met some of your friends. The point is they're against the bullshit that it comes with that people try to "normalise" these days. Like how we barely have any real interactions these days and all of it happens through social media and has to be validated through likes and repost. Awesome video and killer riffs by the way.
I have to disagree on the pig part. It's getting shot at the end of the scene so I would assume it is a comment about consumerism and animal slaughter. I could be wrong tho
@@tombuchborn I see it as a combination of both of your ideas: we put animals on a pedestal and often care for their lives more than humans but at the same time we have no problem with consuming animals
