Great job on the song (which is the important thing here) but as to your Peter Paul Mary/Metallica comment saying 'Nuff said', I reject that. Go back a couple of years before PPM and give credit to the GREAT Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem singing this song. Roots, man, roots!!! Are ye in the mood for singing? God bless, Tommy, Patty, Liam and TM!!!
Kieran, we are an American acoustic group that gets to play Irish music for two or three weeks a year, and can't wait for that time to come every year. All three of us LOVE the Clancy Brothers and Tommy. This year we played "Whistling Gypsy," "Roddy McCorley," "Tell Me Ma." The Moonshiner" and the wonderful "Four Green Fields." Metallica of course, took their "Whiskey" from Thin Lizzy, and I could easily be convinced that Peter, Paul and Mary took their "Gilgarra Mountain" from the Clancy's. We primarily perform for general audiences who don't know about Thin Lizzy and may not be all that familiar with the Clancy's. We meant no offense, thanks for checking in!
