Y’all should listen to “Keep the wolves away” by Uncle Lucius. Y’all would dig it, you’d might even add it to the infamous “Playlist” Love y’alls videos guys🤙🏼
Man i love the appreciation yall have for these songs. I am from small town Texas ive been listening to these songs for many years. So when people ask what music i like and when i say country they get a disgusted face, I immediately have to say " you dont get it, its not mainstream Nashville pop country. "
I’ve been following your journey of discovery in country music for a long time now, and I love that you’re mirroring the rest of the country music audience in rejecting pop country and gravitating towards real country. As I’ve done on every country video you’ve reviewed, I’m recommending “Chris Knight - Down the River”. It’s the perfect country song.
In this song he's talking about the tour life cause he talks about how he's always on the road. And he goes to the bottle just to keep smiling and singin.. never looked at this song from a homeless perspective but that's why I love reaction videos
Y'all need to have a tournament now between Texas red dirt vs mainstream pop Nashville country. Already know Texas country will win. Just want to see the beat down.
@@themurraypeeps5795 well technically there is an exclusive Texas country scene that doesn’t include red dirt. And also technically Whiskey Myers is Texas country considering every single member is an East Texas native, Elkhart and Palestine, TX
Your breakdown of the lyrics is great, I've listened to this song hundreds of times and never thought of it like that. Reason I love watching your videos!
@@teachergirl41 yeah, I always just took it as a song about his time on the road with the band. But their take on it is interesting especially the dagger/backstage part.
This song, "stone" was in the Paramount Channel show "Yellowstone"...Whiskey Myers is all over that show...its where I found them....I have fallen in love with their music
How much restraint does it take to not dive into their albums?? You guys nailed it!! If you ever get a chance to see them live GO! You will be blown away.
I find it super cool how different people get different things and appreciate different things in music. I also really like the chorus but it is the piano that really carries this song for me... something you guys never even mentioned.
Man I don’t know how y’all attracted this crowd but I’m glad you did cause it made me find y’all. Glad to see some city folk that’ll give our culture the time of day. Keep it up
When I lived back in Galveston county, we used to go see them live sooo many times and they sound just as good if not better. Also, my friend and I accidentally ran into their guitarist while we were drunk at fair lmao and they’re just the coolest dudes. Also, Jason Boland, CCR, Casey Donahue, and many more... just amazing dudes with no fame complex. They actually treat you like fam lol I’ve actually smoked with CCR before their show. Lol I literally couldn’t believe it. But if you’re from one of them Texas towns, you know lmao
Glad I was so persistent on yall playing Whiskey Myers until yall did your first song by them. So many awesome hits and something for everyone with this band. Yall keep up the good work and appreciate how honest and true yall are.
ONE OF THE BEST SONGS I’VE HEARD IN YEARS!! Listened to it MY first time about two years ago, and can honestly say that I too was BLOWN AWAY and fascinated!!! a fan of WHISKEY MYERS since. GREAT CHOICE! 🎧 #STAYLIST
I really appreciate how much you get into my kind of music. Your country reactions are a ton of fun to listen to, and your channel has led me to a new appreciation for several artists I may have never come across in other genres. I'm a new logic, megadeth, and Jason Isbell fan because of you guys! Keep up the hard work!
SigRho1429 I actually heard of them from a local hard rock morning show, but honestly it doesn’t matter what genre they belong to. Doesn’t change the fact that they’re a great bad and these two gentleman should them a go. I’m just saying
Wow, this is beautiful! Love it! This will be my next purchase. I started watching you because you were reacting to music I know. Now you are introducing me to other music and I am so thankful!
Whiskey Myers was great live this past weekend, I haven't been a big Randy Rogers band fan but after seeing them live this past weekend I gained a lot of respect for them.
Kyle Moeller I recorded a few songs and put them on my channel and got to meet them after their set! Crazy crowd and I loved it! I worked the VIP Miller tent to the right of the stage and some of the band came to party during Cody Jinks! 15th Chilifest
Texas3Percenter is Cody Canada’s stuff any good? I know right after the break up the stuff he was putting out was garbage. If he’s found his groove again I want to check it out
I’ve been a subscriber for a long time and I’ve watched tons of your videos. This is one of MANY songs/artists that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, that I’ve been introduced to thanks to your channel. That’s my favorite thing about your channel in particular. You venture into SO many genres, and since I enjoy how both of you respond to music, so have I. Thanks for that. 🖤
Just want to send out a big thanks for highlighting a genera within country that I'm excited to look more into. Even if you are a fan of country I think geography does concentrate your exposure to artists that are very mainstream and artists that are near you. Thanks to your channel (and the fans of it throwing you the suggestions) I have some new catalogs to dig into!
I love your channel! Y'all are so likeable. My wife, who is NOT a country music fan, loves your takes. I am a country fan and can't get enough of those reactions and reviews. Speaking of classics, how about "Big Iron" or "El Paso" by Marty Robbins?
You guys are awesome....I'm a country music lover and love hearing yall hear the music I have always loved and seeing people actually hearing it for the first time is so satisfying
Damn this song is so good. I probably owe at least 1/4 of my music library to you guys showing me new awesome music. Requesting: Green Grass and High Tides by Outlaws
I have gotten addicted to watching y'all recently! After hearing the discussion, I realized y'all are prefect examples of discussing for my students. (I am literacy interventionist) Part of my students' struggle is knowing how to discuss ideas and go deep with their thoughts. Now granted - I will have to REALLY monitor the lyrics of the song and if there is any 'interesting words' before hand. I hope you don't mind - but when I find the perfect clip (with no cussing or 'particular subject matter' in the songs), you will be my example of great discussion for interpreting texts!!!! Thank you!!!
I just love seeing people taking an honest listen to different music and appreciating it for what it is, there’s something to be taken away from every type of music out there.
Love the take on Whiskey Myers...I live by a place called Floores Country Store in Helotes Texas...Willie Nelson started there..They constantly have the acts you guys play...Love to turn y’all onto it
Darn you guys! I had quit listening to modern pop/rock/country/soul music. There was just nothing there. Then I stumbled on your reaction to Chris Stapleton Tennessee Whiskey. I subscribed before the video was over. Now I have been going to look at your older stuff. But I always come back to Country. I have started to regain some of the faith I had lost. George Jones asked the question, "Who's going to fill their shoes"? Thanks to you, I now have hope that there may indeed be someone to fill their shoes. Once more, thank you.
I agree! I don't listen to much current country, too pop. The artists I enjoy, I don't really count as country. Most are more in the rock vein of music, which is what I grew up on. Guys like Whiskey Meyers, Whitey Morgan, Cody Jinks, Chris Stapleton, etc are REAL country!
Man I can't get enough of you guys. I love your openness to music. This country would be miles better if more people were like you guys. Keep on making 'em and I'll keep on listening to 'em. Tyler Childers is a good listen, I think you guys would enjoy him.
Ok fellers... It's great to see you delving into some good Texas music. Now, it's time to just kick back and enjoy the amazing sound from San Angelo, Texas... just 3 hours from my hometown. #LosLonelyBoys... just good, straight ahead Texican rock-n-roll. Texas rock infused with some good Texas blues, a smidgen of country, a little brown-eyed soul, and just enough Tejano you make you wanna dance! 4 songs...a MUST... on any good, diverse playlist... Heaven Dimé mi Amour Crazy Dreams Señorita Trust me on this one! You'll be glad you did! #feelthemusic Danny Lubbock, TX
Hey guys I’m from Texas and I’m going to be in Vegas for about two months starting next month for military training wanted to see if y’all wanted to get some grub! I love y’all’s reaction because I’m a huge music lover!
Love this song! I heard it on Pandora and fell in love with it. I know y’all have done Chris Stapleton b4 but you should do it on his song “ Without your love “ . Great song and I’d love to see both of your reactions. Keep it going Guys, totally love you both !
I finally got a chance to catch WM live back in Oct. 2018. These guys are playin the smaller venues which are more up close and personal for their fans, but in my opinion, they have the talent to sell out the bigger 15k-20k seat venues. Great songwriters, play all the old-skool instruments, awesome front man in Cody Cannon and he has 2 friggin downright string-shredders on each side of him. Two of their main influences are Skynyrd and Hank Jr. which should be enuff said!! From the words of the late, great Ronnie Van Zant, he is looking down here and telling these boys to "brang all my mules out here and kick 'em one time". Keep churning and don't change a damn thing, WM !!
I think he means that he’s constantly on the road(touring), but not homeless. I’m so glad you guys reacted Whiskey Myers though, found out about them last year and holy crap I became a fan. Seeing em in TX on September 🤙 try reacting to “Bury my bones” it’s a banger.
