The nose:
Light fruitiness, peat smoke, caramel, vanilla
The taste:
Sweet, citrus fruits, lemon, metallic note, peat smoke
The finish:
Medium

Same - just cracked my bottle last night and I'd rate it up there with Lagavulin Distillers Edition and Laphroaig PX.

It‘s so great!!! Opened my bootle some days ago and couldn‘t help myself but took a glass every night. Just loved it.

Sanaig is excellent. Decadent, smoky, caramel sweetness.

Sanaig is the best go to Kilchoman, Although it's expensive it's affordable. Not like Loch Gorm / 100% islay / original cs / Single cask release which are all priced quite steep.

I don't think its true that everything is done on site, they do gather some barley from the port ellen malting, as well as malting on site

It's all done on site for the 100% Islay and it's less peated. The others use Port Ellen Maltings and are more heavily peated.

why don't you stop reviewing heavy peated whisky's. i think your judgement is clouded. you'r not sure if it's yougness you tast, but still u give negative swing on it. maybe you're right, but your dislike for heavy peat shows.

Why don't you stop dropping random comments? Horst Luening is seldom this positive or approving of a whiskey. "It's the best from Kilchoman", "This one is really complex, full aroma... Not young and stinky", "It's expensive but i think it's wort it"...

Taste is EXTREMELY subjective from person to person. There is NO best whisky in the world. From Smoky to Fruity, to long finish to short finish, every whisky is different in its own way. SO, my point is, if he is not a fan on heavy peat? Who cares? You do? Well good for you.
