I really love this too! There were times during your creation when I was asking you to stop, but the end result is fabulous. After the addition of the guilding flakes, I understood why you kept the rather harsh lines, as they were the "glue" that adhered the guilding flakes. It's just beautiful!

BEAUTIFUL... I think the Gilding Flakes are better than gold foil for this effect. I want to do what you did... on a countertop... then put Resin over that with a little gold (fine) glitter in the resin....

@@Tiffany.Solorio I agree... I wanted the "Gold Flake" effect you did... but thought I had to do Foil... I'm so glad I found your video... You are a God-send... I'm refurbishing a 1972 (Vintage) Travel Trailer... (MY 25th "FLIP") the colors are White, True blue Turquoise, and I think the Table and Countertops would look beautiful with your technique... I'd add silver too... Wait till I hand paint the outside... putting eyeshadow (Iridescent white pearl) I got at the $ Store... The lady looked at me so funny, when I bought 15 of them... LOL... it is beautiful when I put it in Crystal Clear Polyurethane, and put that over the paint job... "WOW"...

Question: How do you keep the piece from flying off the table? I've got the exact same dryer and on lowest power, it's lifting the piece and blowing it off the table unless i keep my fingers planted on it or hold it way above.....do you have it attached to another something that I see around the edges? This is beautiful.

Tiffany, it's much easier and more convenient to use instead of those gold flakes, Ranger has small sheets of foil in gold and other colors and when the painting is almost dry, I mean the thicker lines are still dump you just press the foil on really well and the gold or any other will stick to it. Same effect but much less messy, don't have to deal with those flakes. Just an opinion. Your technique was very nice, had that wispy fading effect. That blow dryer blows pretty low on cool? I've been looking and most of them blow too hard even on cool. I know people who use a heatgun still and they like it because it doesn't blow hard, but I think it's hot and can't adjust the heat

absolutely love this. I like the idea of using a blow dryer on cool setting with low air, that would be perfect for me with arthritis and not much ability to use those puffers that a lot of ppl use. you were so brave using the flakes... is there a lot of difference in the end result between flakes and foil? thanks so much for teaching us all new things.

Tiffany, I love your videos-the way you show experiments that don't work out the way you expected, so we can learn along with your, and the work you put into editing your videos. I always thought there wasn't much you could do once the ink flowed where it wanted to. But watching you, I can see that the artist does have some control to come back in and alter certain areas of the painting. I've seen other alcohol ink artists use a turntable or Lazy Susan to make it easier to use the dryer from all sides. But I notice that you often tilt the Yupo to get the movement you want. Is there a way to combine the two?

This piece is gorgeous. However, if you’re new to alcohol ink you need to use a respirator mask and should be using nitrile gloves so the alcohol isn’t seeping into your skin. The fumes are really toxic and aren’t safe to work with without the proper protection.
