A message to everyone who has been waiting for this video: I had a LOT more planned for this video but you saw what happened about halfway through 😬 which is why I was taking it very easy to begin with. My best hope is that Tesla is able to fix the truck so we’re able to continue with our previous plans. I wanted to film this much sooner, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to find a Cyberbeast for sale until nearly 6 months after they were available for purchase, which is interesting considering 3 RU-vidrs were lent Cybertrucks for early reviews. Although I would love to blow it up with a nuclear bomb my goal is to first show everyone what to expect if they actually bought and owned a Cybertruck. This video is completely UNBIASED and not sponsored by any auto company. Thank you for watching and follow @whistlindiesel on instagram for updates :D
As someone who has actually detonated C4, I'm fairly confident that was not a C4 blast. I've never seen C4 produce that spark looking pattern and C4 typically comes in 1.25lb blocks (M118) that are larger than shown in the video. Additionally, the results from the blast would be heavily dependent on how the explosive is secured to the door. C4 properly used can cut an I-beam.
considering all the recalls and promises that have yet to be fulfilled...... i think its gonna be a few months, if not a few years..... . somehow, they can sell you a whole ass new Cyber-Dumb... but they cant get a wheel bearing....
@XVICreations it is. They're the only company making public chargers and they are successfully outselling industry titans. Tesla is the ONLY company actually fully succeeding at this mission, like it or not.
he put a pack of c4 on the door, and no holes where to be seen. it did not charge after poring water in the charginghole, but if you poored water right in to the tank of a f-150, it wouldnt run either. but yeah, the cyperbeast is far from perfect yet.
@@Pepe_escobarwow that must be really useful when you’re driving your car in the battlegrounds of Yemen. Which I’m sure is more applicable then like, idk towing something…
thats just so funny, the cybertruck wins at every extreme unrealistic test, but fails at towing, closing the back cover, at closing the door and the display failes lol
Watch the video more closely. The tow hitch broke when it came off the end of the culvert. The Ford didn't make it that far so didn't do the drop at the end.
So to sum it up, if you wanna spend 100K or so to go fast, do some offroading and get attacked by an angry mob. CT may be for you. If you want something that works for what trucks do, has decent manufacture quality and a lot less hassle, just about any other truck wouls so it better. Hoping for a episode 2, showing the bed being used, towing etc.
I'm really enjoying seeing the full transparency of the fully qualified Tesla Cybertruck division professionals hard at work testing the truck before full release to the general public prior to deliveries. This is going to be a really solid product when it's ready. ... .. . :] Great work gentleman!
Watching a how easily a regular person can damage the doors and the pedal, makes me think of that old fiat 500 commercial where they prepared it to handle an upset ex. Which means a fiat 500 survives ex girlfriends better than a cyber truck.
NGL it's interesting how the Cybertruck can handle the more extreme tests but fails the basic shit like "Slamming the door" and "Not crushing your fingers"
That's because the F150 is a truck, designed to do truck things. The Cybertruck is a meme car, designed to look a certain way and do whatever rat-brained nonsense Musk thinks is cool at the moment.
This video reassured me that investing in some repairs to my old Toyota truck is the best bet. Trucks nowadays are way overpriced toys that don’t hold up!
Bulletproof is a very strong word. More resistant than other windows, they might stop a 9mm or something but I don’t think they have much of a chance with anything bigger. just realised he never said the windows are bullet proof, just the steel. Its just 'Armoured Glass', not bulletproof
Also its hella dangerous to have these type of windows, just one accident, maybe with fire, and firefighter and first responders wont be able to get you out of this stupidly bad designed "car"
Windows are not bulletproof, maybe small caliber resistant. Military humvee glass 3-5 inch think isn’t really bullet proof either u stay on the X long enough it will break
windows are not bulet proof at all... bulet proof glass is like 3 cm thick... no one ever said that just the stainless steal panels are resistent to 9mm
The accelerator just snapping off after being kicked is what really got me, you cannot build the control for the main function of a vehicle out of plastic
@@JamesBDmkit’s a plastic piece with rubber on a metal bar that is physically attached to the acceleration mechanism instead of a piece of plastic hooked up to a pressure sensor that has no physical attachment to the acceleration system
I tend to think the "billion dollar" thing has more to do with SpaceX, X (former Twitter), Boring Company, Neuralink, xAI, SolarCity and Tesla Energy, Starlink, and an unnamed security company. The Tesla car racket isn't being very profitable, especially lately.
@@exothermal.sprocket Tesla is actually HUGE in terms of stock value. It's just that Tesla investors are a different breed--in the same six months Cybertruck disappointed, EV interest dropped, and Tesla cut production due to low demand, so the stock crashed. Then Musk promised to make a new car, and the stocks went right back up.
@@connorpenrod397 By this point, the breed of investors are stupid in the head if they can ride on Musk's every word, ignoring all the failed promises and shortcomings of the past EV products.
I sincerely wish Ford will take that a court, yes it may be funny and it's a joke, but it's also an insult to the heritage of one of America's most famed automakers and part of the trio that started it all. No intention of being an old boomer 😂
This reminded me of having tinder account back in the day. I don’t even know if I was busier with the phone or with going out dating girls. Tesla CygayTruck brings up good old memories, but doesn’t create new ones.😢
Explosives on the door: fine. Throttle pedal: disintegrates. Tbh it seems to perform better than expected, just not on actual tests you'd put a normal production vehicle through.
@@Felale regular? you uh.. slam your doors as hard as you can? kick your accelerator? genuinely curious edit; I just remembered most production vehicles in the early 00's had cheap plastic door handles - check out the HHR, hell anything from 2000-2009
Elon Owes you a salute... its one thing to build a truck.. its another thing to stress test that truck.. this is why the Hummer & the Jeep rule the histories of offroading.. Cyber truck has a long way to go...
Well, in the test where the Cybertruck pulled the Ford, the cybertrucks rear end hit the concrete with its entire weight, probably cracking the frame just before the pull. So it was in fact kinda abused, and is most likely why it failed, but regardless, a steel frame would not have done this.
@@xcalibertrekker6693 I'm not quite sure what you mean, but just to be quicker about discussion, if I understood you correctly, you are implying that the cybertrucks body panels were more resistant to explosions since they were aluminum? The Fords panels aluminum, while cybertrucks are stainless steel, so I'm not quite sure how that means the reverse.. That is IF I understood what you meant correctly.
I think that test could have only benefited the tesla, as the tesla was the only contender to stand a chance against C4. The only realistic shit in this video is the towing (witch was not a test at all, just getting the Ford out). The Tesla really fucked up there, in the only activity that a sane person would ever try.
@@llollo7631 Yeah it absolutely failed in pretty much every case that a normal person would use. Have to have it "confirm the buyer" to be able to charge (so it literally has to call a server to let you drive the car, what???) Diff lock "coming soon" Frame tearing apart when you want to tow something Ride height messing up Useless truck
The unknown buyer is probably an anti-theft feature. Its not that you spent your entire day trying to charge, it's that you didn't get your account set up before trying to drive.
Ha, I thought the same thing at the end, but then thought... towing your boat, or anything else and you hit a bump or a pothole and your entire frame disassembles... Uh, No bueno!
Actually crazy that he did that knowing the hand detection is terrible and WILL crush your hand. Even crazier that the someone wasn't standing there to immediately open it.
@@SkorpioVenom The detection works good but ppl. don't know how it works.. It recalibrates and increase the torque when it doesn't close. So if you block it from closing 5x in a row it will put more and more force. On normal use case this works perfectly and would never crush your finger.
@@jayhawker2363 you and every other person who keeps saying this, THAT IS NOT THE POINT. The point is it should be connected to the frame of the vehicle so the whole bumper doesn't get shredded of. What do you think potholes would do to an 11k.Ibs trailer while its attached
It blows my mind that anyone would consider for even a second buying a car that has mechanical parts installed that have to be "unlocked" or that need software downloads to function. That idea is so amazingly scummy and completely retarded. Tesla is a complete scam meant to milk money out of activists and egotistical idiots, and BMW and Ford are starting to lean into similar methods to pry every dollar out of customers that they can. It almost feels like how video games used to be simple and fun with a one-time purchase, but now there are constant payments required just to get the game's full experience. I will never settle for a second-rate vehicle, I'll keep my 2003 with mechanical steel parts on the road for as long as I live.
elon is gonna be sweating watchin this, never knew we could get a novelty truck Edit: woke EV better-than-though types are out in force below as usual, yawn
Somehow that just fits with the whole cybertruck experience. It can survive an angry mob with sledgehammers, but you better not try to take it into a car wash or you'll brick it!
As a mechanical engineer regarding the doors Cody is in no way an extreme situation. This is an oversight to rookie engineers. At my current job as a medical design engineer everyone was being gentle. Then I showed them the Whistleing diesel way. Slame the lid hard, push buttons very hard, and plug in aggressively as possible. Yes, some design changes were required. Everyone looked at me terribly like why am I abusing this instrument. Well I designed it. I can destroy it. Thank you whistleing diesel. You are saving lives with engineers designing mechanical devices.
Your spot on. Not everyone will be that rough and even fewer will be that rough repeatedly. But it happens, and sometimes by accident. Things shouldnt fall apart due to slightly elevated use of strength. We aint teddy bears.
that was not c4, c4 has more of a boom, It has to be electrically detonated, you cannot use a fuse like he did, that was more than likely a mortar firework.
@@termonostruman no, it has enough strength to pull 11,000lbs but there was a video explaining why the rear bumper broke, and its because the tongue strength is 900lbs, tongue strength is the direct upwards and downwards force that is applied to the towing hitch, 900lbs is a normal amount of strength, the ford f150 only has 1000lb which is not much more, so when the cybertruck got pulled of the speed bump test and its weight landed on the rear bumper it exceeded the maximum strength and the same thing would've happened to the ford f150 in the same situation.
That test was actually very well done. I’m surprised with how it withstood some of the tests and not surprised by some of the other ones. Thank you Cody for being crazy enough to do these types of tests!
Performance wise it's pretty good, being an EV and all with the usual drawbacks of EVs like charging. Suspension is pretty good but it's supporting parts are cheap and insufficient, like the air compressor. It's design/quality is a massive let down for those who use the truck, as a truck especially with how janky the software is.
@@walkelftexasranger Exactly. Plus, that steel rusts, is a massive hazard to pedestrians, parts of it is just glued on, and no one should use a Tesla as an armored vehicle, that's the job of modified Toyotas and proper Military Jeeps and Humvees. A Tesla pickup truck could be good if it wasn't so triangular, massive or steel.
It's just insane that this thing is super durable on the outside but super fragile on the inside. That's the opposite of how cars are supposed to be, they're supposed to have strong internal frames to keep you safe while the outside is made to crumple to absorb impacts.
So many people were impressed at how 'stable' the Cybertruck was on the collision test they did for the marketing material, but physics--All that force that *should* have made the Cybertruck move is now bearing down on all the passengers *inside,* injuring or even killing 'em in the process.
The worst thing is that this truck will not only be bad for passengers (who at least decided for this truck) but also causes danger to pedestrians and other drivers
I remember when WD had like 200k subscribers. Awesome to see how far he has come. You deserve all the success. Thanks for the laughs throughout the years.
That "self driving unavailable" is wild. So buying a Tesla is like buying a video game today. Full price and nowhere near finished. You can buy dlc but that's not ready yet either.
Thats not true. Its just the cybertruck that you cant do it in yet because its a very different vehicle and the program is not ready until it learns through driving. Ant other tesla you can order it on the vehicle immediately.
The backend of the frame braking off is completely unacceptable and the doors breaking after one slam is ridiculous. I'm just glad to see the battery didn't explode into flames.
I think that's really the noteworthy thing here. All that he did, and the battery pack integrity wasn't compromised. That's something to throw in the faces of people who call all EVs fire hazards (as if gasoline powered cars aren't burning on the side of highways the world over at this very second).
"Did everything the Cybertruck did, still runs, could go across the country" Bro the thing fucking blew apart getting off the trailer the fuck are you talking about 😂
I'm thinking it damaged the frame when it fell off the culvert , it weighs 7000lbs, there's just no way it could possibly get that tow rating and shear like that.
It's honestly crazy how those death traps are allowed on the road but when you're an elite and have buddies in the government you can get away with a lot. Especially when the government has propped up your business.
yooo bro, that's me, I edited this video! That prick diesel didn't even credit me for editing most of his stuff. The car is so crazy. At the one side it can take anything. Literally explosives and a gang trying to break in. On the flip side, the tow hitch broke off and he pealed off side panels. Bruh
5:25 He slammed the rear bumper on the concrete keeping the culverts from rolling away. That would have cracked the frame and caused the tow hitch/rear bumper to fail like that.
They dropped almost have weight of the truck from a few feet up and it all went into the rear bumper when it hit a concrete slab. Any hitch and bumper on any truck would be f(cked on impact.
every job has it downside man... you gotta love being criticized hated judged etc. its easy to envy but maybe your life look like others dream life. try to be happy with what you have.
Aye, I feel like the initial CyberTruck is the car designed by engineer, with the expected level of engineer common sense oversights, and after a few revisions it'll actually be a dang impressive machine. Regarding the hitch though, they damaged the hitch and everything by slamming thousands of lbs of force into it multiple times before. Both when they took it off the back of the truck (which broke the driveshaft of the F150) and on the logs, then an extra love tap when dismounting the concrete tubes. So it was already prolly broken from what they did to it before. Considering the F150 couldn't even drive after the damage it took from leaving the back of the truck trailer once, I think its a little unfair to expect another car to deal with that level of damage multiple times and still tow.
@@Ralathar44 no, I see what you mean and I agree that is what happened but that’s why you make it out of steel. Over time, hitting bumps or potholes or going off road, you go over things and the receiver hits the ground. I go to Moab every year and you hit the hitch going off big ledges all the time. A lot of the time they hit THAT HARD and guess what, they still work. If this happened pulling the f150 without any weight on the hitch after hitting things then that is a major problem. Hitting your receiver on a rock or something is actually way more common than you think if you take the truck off road. Especially if you leave a hitch in the receiver
@@JoeMama-no2bn Personally I agree with you on a conceptual and spiritual level, my spatula is solid steel, I have steel chopsticks, I've got a patch of chainmail for my solid steel pots. I like things that are built to last. BUT, from a business PoV think about who their target audience is. Soft upscale white people with too much money, just like the target audience of all EVs. The kinda people who'd buy it more because they think it looks cool or has cool tech rather than whether or not its practical. Even though I own a Smart Car personally, I bought that because I HATE city parking and that little thing makes parking anywhere trivial.
@@Prockski That the ford's hitch is very tough but that if he wants to prove the Cybertruck's hitch is not up to standard usage he needs to do towing tests on a hitch not previously damaged by the equivalent of low to mid speed car accident's of force. If it fails in towing tests below its capacity without being damaged then its a problem. If not, then it failed because of the punishment he put it through that no normal car will ever go through. Gas pedal, trim, and truck bed cover are still issues though ofc.
Hey, I live in NYC. We're prone to peaceful protests (if you know what I mean💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥). When I'm driving home in the middle of the night and the peaceful protesters decide to go shopping. I'll be safe.
Hey, this truck is directly marketed as a doomsday vehicle, so, in case of doomsday there’s not gonna be a customer service anywhere. That’s clever marketing.
If you weren't ignorrant youd have found the online free service manual and seen that there are two easily replaceble fittings that broke and what the assembly looks like. There is no way they did not break it on purpose and no way they knew it was not broken before they pulled the F150.
@@thomaskadlec1925 The test was to floor it up the hill and land which they both did. Not the Ford's fault the cybertruck could take off that much faster. The CT even got the point for it.
Thanks for the comment I had problem comprehending trading in general. I tried watching other RU-vid trading channels, but they made the concepts more complicated. I was almost giving up until when i discovered content and explain everything in detail. The videos are easy to follow
I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I'd suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.
Reminds me of that Tesla in LA that got into a high-speed collision. Split in half. On the instrument cluster - "Contact Tesla Service. Vehicle requires service."
Error Code 404 - Frame misalignment Description: It appears your vehicle has encountered an unexpected encounter with gravity and a giant concrete pipe. We regret to inform you that truck frames were not designed to double as impact cushions.
Everyone's insurance on this truck just went up, if one can shear off the back frame that's a total write off for insurance companies because you can't fix a frame like that, regular truck's we can just weld a new piece on, Tesla truck your screwed
Yeah that’s pretty inexcusable. It did surprisingly well on the c4 but a 20 year old rust belt truck would probably hold up on that test. A brand new state of the art $100k+ truck breaking a frame like that is CRAZY.
A comedian recently told the best joke about the cybertruck. Don't judge your neighbor if he has a cyber truck parked in his driveway. Maybe his douchebag brother in law is visiting.
Wrong priorities at Tesla. Make it flashy and bullet proof and cool for the social media to lap up but don't actually engineer any everyday use ability. It's basically elons way of doing anything. Mind you the cyber truck is a terrible example that only people with too much money to spend would buy but even their proper consumer level cars are junk. The hype is over.
In fairness the truck landed on its rear end which likely caused fractures in the casting prior to the towing incident that sheered it off- I’m not surprised it snapped after being landed on.
@@turbulenceman123 Even if it did those fractures are going to build with fatigue if someone is towing heavy and often. Also lets be honest it wouldn't be hard for somene to park it, someone back into it, take a look and see no damage and those fractures be there. Considering its sold with offroad in mind too its easy to think it will hit its rear a time or two if crawling aswell. Either way it shouldn't just snap. Thats why pretty much all other trucks either have massively over the top alloy structures or usually steel.
As someone who's seen that frame in a finished casting, but pre assembly, state. It does not surprise me in the least that it sheared. That casting is not anywhere near as strong as I would expect on a truck of that size.
