48 Minutes Of Snow scenes in The Whitby area from November and December 2023. Snow from Whitby, North York Moors National Park, Grinkle Park, Danby, Lealholm, Castleton, Blakey Ridge.
Beautiful .We were up the week after .Ll clear in Whitby then .This time last year it was snowing badly .Trying to get out of the hotel car park last year was scary .I remember mid -late 70's there being 4' drifts where my late in laws lived.
Utterly stunning, beautiful, winter wonderland! You drive down a road at around 11.28 and it looks like it could've been (but isn't) Bridlington High Street but we're not as lucky as North Yorkshire as to get all that lovely snow. 😀👍❤❄☃🎄
The last time we had lying snow in November in Lincolnshire was 2010....so that is probably the same year that you mentioned having snow in November where you are. That Winter,2010/2011,the last weekend of November we got about 8 or so inches here, and it remained on the ground for 6 weeks, until early January. It barely got above freezing that entire time,& it snowed a bit more off & on during those 6 weeks, topping the snow up the snow that did melt a bit on the few slightly above freezing days we did have! That Winter i think the whole of The British Isles had snow on the ground at one point,I remember seeing a satellite photo ! 😍😍 Even the Scilly Isles had snow, which is even more rare than the coasts of Cornwall & Devon. It was also VERY cold at night most of that period, with the snowpack on the ground. On the clearest, calmest nights,Lincolnshire was down to -15C 5F.. i think the coldest in Lincolnshire since December 1995. The Grantham to Nottingham canal was frozen over thick enough by mid December to walk on top of for miles. I hadn't done that since Dec 1995 & January 1987! Also in December 1995 I spent several days in The Lake District from just after Xmas till just after new year. The waterfalls were frozen there, and the lakes frozen quite far out,we walked on the edges. The tarns, higher up,were frozen over totally,& people were ice skating on Blea Tarn,up from Chapel Stile,in Langdale, where our rented cottage was! Great memories! ❄️❄️☃️⛄⛄😍😍
