Keeping it movin and on to episode 8. Ballin! :) Thanks for watching with us everyone and if you haven't already, like and subscribe and comment below :) Credit: • Video
I am black and I love the dark humor of Uncle Ruckus. The things he says are so racist and outlandish but just so hilarious, funny how that works. It doesn’t affect me because I know it’s just an over exaggerated character with the aim of showing people how ridiculous they sound when they are being racist.😂
You actually made me LOL while reading 😅 We love everyone that watches with us, tells us little easter eggs, helps answer questions etc... Thanks for the comment Straight! Hope to see ya back in the comments as we continue this "watch party" ❤️🙏
What? You're black? And *Uncle Ruckus took possesion of me* "What're ya doing in this comment section? This is a comment section for the white man only!! You coloured have your own comment section... it's on Megavideo, eheheheheh!".
Hahaha! Thanks for answering that question about Uncle Ruckus :) I hope others chime in too. Many thanks for sticking with us through this hilarious ass show 😅❤️👍
Nigga said he mixes bleach and sulfur onto his skin for whitening, I hadn’t laughed that hard in a while, was watching these guys react to that episode a day ago, I couldn’t control my laughter cause I was like “this nigga tryna off himself 😂😂😂😂” you don’t mix sulphur wit NOTHING 😂😂.
Every character in the boondocks represents someone in real life, and uncle ruckus is the epitome of some black people, both men and women, who hate being black. We understand that the characters are supposed to be metaphors.
You're spot on about his arrogance and that it's THAT type of arrogance, that's effing hilarious! Thanks as always for watching and interacting with us BeWise 🙏👍✌️
Uncle Ruckus is hilarious becuase he so over top the racist that u can't take him seriously. Also couple the fact that he is black and it just makes him more of an oxymoron. So we just laugh at him we don't take what he says seriously.
Hey, thanks DogMan for the comment/reply to my question. I couldn't agree more about the oxymoron part 😅 Thanks for watching with us and we hope to see ya in the next one 🤞👍✌️
the personna of uncle ruckus is real when it comes to those with self internalized hatred especially those of the older generations but more so on exaggerated side , * not a spoiler but you will learn more of why he is the way he is overtime 👍
@@WellHelloSillythis was a great response. You have to understand that every character on this show represents a “type” of black or mixed black person that we know. And with all the other characters. They’re all exaggerated tropes and stereotypes, but the ones that black people discuss and interact with within our community, and it’s also just based on reality and lived experience. This show really does a good job of trying to make every African American feel they can relate to something and that it hits home in some way. We all got an uncle like uncle ruckus-or at least know someone or ourselves experienced such self hatred
Uncle Ruckus is hilarious. Tbh most of us black people are probably pretty desensitized to his type of dark racial humor. And also it helps that the entire show is full of racial satire. With uncle ruckus it’s pretty easy to laugh at his jokes because of how excessively ironic they are. In the words of Grandpa “Ruckus you black as the ace of spades”. The fact that Ruckus doesn’t see the own irony in his racism is outrageously hilarious
The boy who emerges victorious in this episode is based on a real kid. In the face of a losing score and injuries to key players, the team took a leap of faith by putting in a young boy with autism. Astonishingly, he clinched the win, exceeding everyone's expectations. Including those of his own coach. All they knew beforehand was his undeniable passion for the game.
I'm a Black male, and I find Ruckus hilarious because he's clearly an absolute a-hole; if you're of the lighter nation and you're uncomfortable with him, you're on the side of right. His persona shouldn't (and hopefully wouldn't) be allowed or tolerated in real society (even if his ethnicity and viewpoint were reversed). While his self-hate is made for animation and over the top, sadly, there are those in existence (some even prominent) who actually feel the way he does, they just haven't taken it to that extreme. At least, not in public.
You hit the nail on the head and you're right about those people who just love to hate for some reason🤷 Thankfully, we find them pretty easy to avoid. Who knew that just treating each other like equals would have a positive outcome....? 🤷🤦lol Thanks again for watching with us Jopin🙏-M@
It’s all good y’all! Uncle ruckus is extreme enough to just be hilarious! Ain’t nothing we haven’t heard before! I enjoy y’all videos and the comedy y’all keep it up!
that music during practice was the music used when basketball games came on tv broadcast on NBC. uncle ruckus with his over the top racism is the point thats why he is funny.
LOL! Def NOT Mormon, just not into Basketball. Now the NFL, That's different in our house. We know Football :) Thanks for watching with us Maurice! -Ash
@@WellHelloSilly my pleasure. I’m addicted to the happy energy you both display to one another. It’s amazing and encouraging. I’m rooting for you both. 💯✊🏿
As a black guy, Ruckus is the type of guy you'd hate irl but love in a show. The fact that hes so nonsensical, exaggerated and goofy, nobody takes what he says seriously. That just leaves you with a funny ass character, and I think most black folks actually love Ruckus
TWINZ!!! What's good!? Sorry for delay, but we're back at it and hope to hear from you as always. Hope you have a good Friday and stay tuned for more coming soon :) -M@
Yall know the character billy is based on a real autistic kid who came in in the 4th quarter and hit 6 straight 3 pointers in a row. Look it up its an amazing story
I remember seeing that back in the day (obviously I wasn't watching this show back then) but thanks for pointing that out. I remember seeing it and you're right. Amazing story. Thanks for the comment JustChillin! -M@
Here's a fun fact about this Boondocks episode Ballin': Trivia: The commentator says that the late Kobe Bryant breaks his ankle, but the animation shows him breaking his tibia. This is one of the two only episodes where a smile is seen on Huey's face, after watching his brother make a basket. The first time the Mighty Deers' uniform are seen, it is misspelled "Mighty Dees". Riley winning the 3-Point Shootout without removing his warm-up suit (or his Timbs) could be a reference to Larry Bird doing the same in the 1986 contest. The intro shows the NBA on TNT crew, including longtime white host Ernie Johnson, speaking exclusively in AAVE and frequently using the n-word. The autistic boy in the episode is based off of Jason McElwain, who is a high-functioning autistic American; he came to fame on national news in 2006 when he played for four minutes and nineteen seconds during a high school basketball game and scored twenty points. Riley compares Billy to Book/movie character Forrest Gump, Likely Riley did not see the movie or pay attention to, as failed to take into account Gump despite questionable cognition excelled at virtually everything he set forth to doing. Running, Football, Armed service, heroism, shrimping, ping pong. Billy is played in the movie version of his life by Haley Joel Osment. When Riley finally makes a basket in a game, he does a small victory dance. This is believed to be a reference to NBA Superstar Legend Michael "Air" Jordan. Uncle Ruckus cites Larry Bird and Dirk Nowitzki as two great white basketballers. Billy Matthews is a young boy who has autism, but he is very good at basketball, and he easily beats Riley Freeman and the Timid Deer Ball-A-Holics in the climactic match. He only appears in "Ballin'". Though he's not really an antagonist, he ironically stole Riley's dreams of basketball fame, and he even has a movie made about him starring Haley Joel Osment(ironically that Riley called Billy Forrest Gump, Haley plays the role of Forrest Gump Jr. in 1994 movie called Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks).
There are plenty of Black ppl like Uncle Ruckus who although might not say what he says, don't see Black people as equal or that we somehow are less deserving of anything. And some are famous political talking heads. Black people agree with them all the time. I just laugh. It's no need to be uncomfortable.
Lol, that's crazy to know, but LOTS of our viewers have said the same as you. Thank you for watching with us and for the interaction 🫶🤙-M@ www.patreon.com/WellHelloSilly
Uncle Ruckus represents the portion of black people who have been brain washed into hating themself and the entire black race. also, Tom the neighbor is named Tom for being a so called "Uncle Tom." It refers to a Black person who is seen as subservient to or seeking approval from white people. while both are funny characters, they both represent a different portion of the black community who are not fully comfortable in their own skin caused by the oppression bestowed Apon the black people by white America. This show is legendary.
We don't see a problem with him it's actually funny even though you really have black ppl who think like that but we get it's just for fun while highlighting a social reality within our community but y'all should chill just have fun we all here enjoying your vids
In the black community there is always an uncle rucus we don’t like real life uncle ruckuses. But in the cartoon uncle ruckus is FUNNY!!! Black satire is like that, take serious things and turn them into humour so that they are palatable and easier to digest, converse and face the issue
Yeah he really wasn't in it too much this one. Good eye for catching his tiny smile. I had to watch it back a couple times to see it. Thanks for the comment and watching with us 🙏😁
As a black person who grew up watching the boondocks, Uncle Ruckus is supposed to be an over exaggeration of how ridiculous racist people sound, so it comes off as being funny, and especially since he's black, I think for a black viewer it's more funny than harmful because he's the darkest character on the show. I think within black circles, we tend to say smth off-color or similar to one another to sort of "limit" the amount of hurt it has when someone legitimately would try to hurt us with this type of language, so ultimately I think it's funny and sorta helpful in a weird...messed up way LOL
For those who have wondered about the street name, Timid Deer Lane, it has to do with the city Woodcrest is based on, Columbia, MD. Columbia is a planned city which is divided up into different villages. Each villages streets have names that are derived from various poems and works of art. As a result, Columbia has a reputation for its weird street names across the DMV and Baltimore areas. Here are some examples: Liquid Laughter Lane Apple Blossom Ride Barley Corn Row Five Fingers Way Crazy Quilt Court I'd like to think that Timid Deer Lane is a direct spoof of Sharp Antler, just Sharp Antler. No road, no court, no street or lane. Just Sharp Antler.
I'm black and uncle ruckus is hilarious, especially in the south every black family got one person that has some opinions that are pretty close haha. I'd recommend Chris rock niggas vs black people, it kinda explains the situation lol
That's NBC basketball theme from the 90s 🎶 Classic moments come back to my memory just hearing that. P.S: Uncle Ruckus is probably the funniest character in the show, it's the "white guilt" that makes y'all feel some kinda way about it which is a good thing, in a way it means you're not racist yourselves... BUT in a nutshell considering the source and the context it's perfectly fine for us as Black viewers
First, it's just over the top comedy with what Ruckus is saying. Second, Uncle Ruckus is exactly how some black people feel about black people. It's just shocking because you've never heard things like this come out of a black person's mouth. But you'd be surprised how crazy and reckless some people talk in real life.
As a black woman, I Hate uncle ruckus. I do think he represents black peoples self hatred. Some things I get a chuckle out of, but most of the time I mute him or skip him altogether
Uncle Ruckus is PURE satire, representing an extremely exaggerated type of archetype whose absurdity is so ridiculous, it's hilarious. I would waiver that the consensus in the Black community is that Uncle Ruckus is indeed funny, and should not be taken seriously due to the exaggerated nature of the character.
Thanks for the comment Bobby! Good to see ya back :) I added Afro Samurai to my RU-vid "Notes" and promise I'll look into it. Although a friend of mine just put up a review of a TRASH movie and even though it was garbage, the parent company of that movie got him an actual Copywrite Strike. Long story shot, I gotta do some research on uploading a movie. ya know. Thanks again for the support Bobby. Stay Tuned! - M@
Black man here. Ruckus is hilarious & definitely the most racist character in cinematic history. Also Haley Joel Osmen is playing the role of the autistic kid in the adaptation.
I’m black and Uncle Ruckus is Dark Humor. I laugh at him all the time because there are some people like this. It’s an over exaggeration! Love your open mindedness though ❤☮️💐🧿
OMG! I BET! I didn't even think about that, but know what you mean. Sometimes I think the same about certain South Park episodes. Like the constant beeping out profanity is just too effing funny on it's own. Thanks for the comment and watching with us :) - M@
The autistic kid making all those 3's is a real life event that happened. It's not fiction, it real and both teams were rooting for him with every 3 point shot he made... about 7 or 8 them
I was blown away when I first heard Ruckus. Then grew to love him. LOL. I showed this to a ex-girlfriend, from Jamaica. And she was offended at first also. Then she got it.
I love Uncle Ruckus being a black viewer lol… I find his attitude to be funny and not harmful… Uncle Ruckus really is top 3 characters in the show humor wise
I love him just as much as the next person, but damnit. When we hear that tuba, we now we're in for some "cringe" as white folk 😅 Thanks for watching with us and the kind comment Pach! 🙏-M@
@@WellHelloSilly Uncle Ruckus to me as a UK white viewer is like the pre 60's black character from the South that hasn't left racist. It is a caricature of the evil subconscious
That's what other viewers have said too! And because of that, I have a feeling that we're probably gonna be pretty uncomfortable while laughing out asses off at the same time 😅 Thanks for the comment Jeighstar! 🙏 Hope to see ya in the comments again 😁 -M@
I’m black and I look at Uncle Ruckus as like the black version of Eric Cartman shitty personality of a character but you don’t take them serious as they are “losers of the show” and of course comedy is exaggerated, ruckus is supposedly portrays the “self hated black person” but his jokes and statements and mannerisms is so outlandish and ridiculous you can’t help either laugh or cringe but don’t take it to heart
This is a top 10 episode for me. The dream at the beginning is just too funny with the Inside the NBA guys and players. Ruckus is part of what makes this show gold. Dave Chappelle's great stand-up from the late 90s has a joke thag explains it. He basically said sometimes black people hear something so racist that you don't get mad you just say "wow, that was racist." That's basically Ruckus's entire purpose. One episodes in season 3 that is one of the few that have been banned is a bit uncomfortable but only because he is in rare form with a new character.
Thanks for the comment Chris! We like Ruckus, but damn he gets crazy! (as you already know) He made us uncomfortable in the last reaction we did. LMAO Thanks for watching with us Chris. - M@
As a Black Man, I LOOOOOOOOVE RUCKUS🤣😂😂 His not to be taken serious, he exposes racism. Him being black isn't the point cause he believes his white. So he speaks for racists, it's a Genius Act. So you shouldn't feel uncomfortable at all, it's Comedy. Very Good Comedy.
Before you get to episode 11, you have to know this. 2 episodes (episode 14 and 15) of season 2 were banned from airing. In the original ordering of the season, episode 14 was supposed to be the 4th episode and introduces a backstory to a character that is also featured in episode 11. So if you want to go through the original order (before the episodes got banned and shelved into last episodes), you should watch episode 14 before episode 11
They banned episodes 14 and 15? For what? Maybe don't answer so they don't get spoiled but I never heard of an issue with those two episodes. Now that I think more, I do remember this characters introduction seeming out of order and I couldn't understand why. That would make a lot of sense.
Ok wow! That's a lot to take into consideration. So we just watched Episode 10, but you're saying to watch 14 next and then go back to 11 and so on? I don't have a problem with it.
Dude Rukus is fkn hilarious as sht to most black viewers! 😂 I've yet to find a single person, regardless of ethnicity, that doesn't love his character. It's super funny which comes as no surprise to most logical people. Racism is ridiculous enough, and _should_ be laughed at. They flawlessly wrote his character. lol
@@WellHelloSilly 4sure bro. lol I was just telling your wife how much we love your content. I've seen seasons 1-3 *religiously* with the exception of 4. Hearing that Mc'gruder was, essentially ousted during the making of it iirc, I never felt inclined to watch it. My first time will definitely be with you two. Despite the many times I've seen seasons 1 - 3, watching your reactions actually made it feel fresh/funnier in a way. Whoever decided to post your reactions to the world is a freakin genius. LOL We look forward to it, Mat(season 4). ✌️

Ruckus is so over the top that I just find him absolutely hilarious. I'm not bothered at all, because of the meaning behind his character. The main characters all represent a different part of black culture. Huey: The revolutionist. Riley: The wannabe gangsta. Grandad: The older generation that focuses far too much on past accomplishments. Uncle Ruckus and Tom DuBois: They both represent different versions of what some call, "Uncle Toms". One is a black man who just has overt hatred of black people, and the other is a black man who's outright lost his cultural identity. This is another example of how deep/brilliant this show is.
I have to say about uncle ruckus, we find him funny cuz he’s so overtly just racist and just takes it so far but the funny think there’s older black people who damn near like him sometimes. Every so often you’ll meet this ornery person and they hate everyone lol watchin this older I’m like damn bruh calm down lol still funny. Thanks for asking our opinion
Yes, it’s funny that they used Haley Joel Osmant’s name because yes it’s supposed to be they’re doing a movie starring him lol And uncle ruckus is one of the characters I love to hate. I can’t stand his ass. Every now and then he’s funny but like I said, I love to hate him and he gets on my nerves. He does too much, but I’m like over him and no one pays his ass mine. I love his family backstory when you get to season three but I’m sure I’m late and you guys have already been there.
@WellHelloSilly Just discovered your channel last night and it’s hilarious! I would love to be your 3rd Person guide who can explain and answer all of your questions when you’re watching
