This is true, lol it's not fair, but I judge bluegrass bands by their banjo player. If they aren't good and clean , I'm just not gonna listen to them much. Awesome job!

Amazing, isn't it?

As one progresses through the video timelines, that 5 string is comin' on strong, triplets, JD Crowe signature moves, Earl down pat, rock solid tempo and ' drummer ' for this band. Wonderful to see and hear ,, bluegrass music in great hands with this band.

Her playing reminds me of Grandpa Jones. I don't hear true pickin much anymore it seems like everyone does the claw hammer which is nice but that fancy pickin can't be beat.

And gorgeous.

@rockofagesusa7942 You are right about that. Banjos and fiddles can both be very much in your face playing over top of everyone else. That's not the case with Sarah. She knows when to attack and when to lay back.

Isn't it though?? Sarah's back-up work is one of the first things that caught my attention, when I first discovered "B.B.B's" videos, early last year! She plays a lot of J.D. Crowe-style back-up, which I've been trying to learn for years! Unfortunately, I was never able to get a clear camera view on any of J.D's televised shows, nor the shows of any banjo players who play some of J.D.'s stuff! Now thanks to these great videos of "Backwoods" with a VERY CLEAR view of Sarah's playing; I finally see how it's done! Now, I just have to replace my stolen '62 Vega 5-String, so that I can sit down and play this great stuff I've been watching!! 😊 Ron Abilene, TX. P.S. With those last two "Banjer" breaks, I'd say that Sarah was just plain, pure, "KICKIN' GRASS!!" 😊 WTG, Sarah!! As Eddie Stubbs would say: "Aww it just DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT!!" R.
