Again I find it difficult to hold back tears. Such a terrible sadness what has been done in the past 400+ yrs of the American Indian. I never grow tired of original photographs.
Owls are truly my spirit animal: Wisdom, guidance, the ability to see what most cannot, the ability to read people very easily, drawing power from within myself and not from the chaos going on around me. So thank you for sharing this amazing music 🖤
There is no coming to conciousness without pain. My Native American ancestors learned too late, that if they would have stood together as one peoples, and not fought so harshly amongst themselves, things could have been different. It was a hard lesson, one I think this country was founded on. United we stand, divided we fall. This lands peoples are still divided, and I fear history might one day repeat itself...
Those of you who bicker... and argue with each other... would greatly sadden the heart of the one... who pours his heart and soul into his song. The spirit seeks to bring joy and peace to our souls through the people who play these songs... Do not let such things as these devide you..., but in your spirits, let us be one..., and let these songs bring such peace and wisdom to our children, and our childrens children.
I love this song and the way that the video was put together the two conbined touches every part of the spirit. I am very proud to be of Cherokee blood.
Whosoever heart isn't absolutely calmed by this music is completely insane. Every time I hear this kind of flute I know for a fact that peace is possible.
I am learning to be one with Mother Earth and Father Sky. We all can blame everything on each other but until we connect with our Great Animal spirits we flounder as I have in the past. When we are connected to the Animal spirits we flourish. May your spirits lead you to Love and care for all beings and our Mother Earth and Father Sky. PEACE
wado to all of you who support us Natives. i may be six different nationalities, but i think of myself as 100% cherokee. wado to all of u who support us. i believe i'm right in my thinking that we were here first, so why are we getting kicked outta our land? don't get me wrong, i luv my EUR background also, it makes me me, but my heart and my spirit will always belong to the Cherokee and my service will always be in the name of the Great Father.
Hope is not a gift we can sustain simply by our own will. Hope is something we need to hear from outside ourselves sometimes. Like the fire needs the help of a branch to grow it's warmth, we need a voice sometimes... to fan the flicker in our hearts when faith grows dim. On solstice, the voice came to me in the call of the owl... wrapped around me like a down cape, insulating me from the most chilling of life's spirits...I carried the owl's small fire in my cold hands. --from Why Buffalo Dance
OMG OMG I am speechless... These old photos are the most amazing photos i have ever seen. What a noble faces! Native Indian culture is something! I respect you that you could save your culture.Don't change yourself, be strong!
you can not judge a human being by his color you can only judge a human by the goodness of his heart and this goodness is what many humans do not have.
Native American music has strange yet beautiful effectg on me. Whenever I come across the culture, I feel like a part of me that I didn't know is awakening. But, I don't know what it is or much about it and it feels like I'm in a dark room with it. I can sense it, but not see it and I'm without it and it feels like there's a hole in me, but it is partially filled by getting closer to nature, but not fully. I don't even know how to fill that hole and I've got no one I can turn to for advice.
As long people lives on the Earth, there will be evil and greed etc. If we understand some day that earth don`t belongs to us, we belong to Earth, as Natives always knew, we could, maybe, live in peace and harmony...
Being only a sliver of Yaqui Indian-I have grown to know my guides-Eagle has landed on my arm in a dream, crow follows me all day and gives me feathers, black Panther lets me hold onto him in my dreams, horse tells me when new adventurs come my way, red hawks and ospreys watch down on me and OWLS also come to me in my dreams and follow me at night to. They watch over me and guide me, They show me the way. i live in the past, present, and future...I am always having Deja Vu, so much to learn
(Tribu DAKOTA).
Im Mohawk Indian and I love nature. I agree science takes things and makes them ugly. like a flower has this and that and does this and this bl aablabla. They should say. The flower. beautiful, The flower grows from the soil ,and the seeds blow to grow more flowers.
it was refreshing of you to remind us that natives had their issues also. i have been drawn toward native american culture lately. i love it. i just wanted to add this line i came across, for those with anger in their hearts. i'll paraphrase: you have 2 wolves inside you, one all love and good, one all evil and bad. they are constantly fighting. which one will win?...the one you decide to feed. i will learn compassion, but keep my knife by my side. best to all. thanks again.
Aho. It is not just the indigenous people who are divided. The money people keep us divided, to conquer us again and again every day. I would love to talk to you more of this some day.
Wow. Thank you! That means a lot! I just grow tired of people always thinking I'm Mexican because of my color, or Persian because of my nose!.. But I will definitely keep those words and think upon them in tough situations. Thank you!
"Being Indian is not in your blood, being Indian is in your heart". RTHM We are all one nation, one heart, one power, always and in all ways. In the spirit of Crazy Horse, All my relations, aho.
thank you for providing me these images .. set to the sound of beauty .. that allowed my awareness to walk .. if only for these few moments .. in the timelessness of my indian soul as it cascades through rivers of blood within the remnants of this 2008 body. may your endeavor continue to shed blessings on you and yours from Wakan Tonka .. the Great Spirit!
Native Americans were removed from their lands due to greed, deciet and false promises. God Bless All native americans for their help, culture and their true spirit. Amen.
P.S. Was enchanted with this so obtained a copy of R. Carlos Nakai's, "Emergence, Songs of the Rainbow World" - Native American flute music. Super relaxing, easy to work by and soothing to the soul.
The Native flute is so wondrous! Beautiful video and music!! I, as a Native person, always wonder why others refer to the Native people as Native "Americans". To me, that term denotes "USA". Maybe it should be "Native NORTH Americans"? The USA/Canada border was placed there by non-native people. The Native people live in both countries. Anyway, just something I have always pondered... ~Star~
Native Americans before the 15th century are a whole lot different from the ones from 15th century on. A lot changed in the worst way. I see them as two different people, the ones after the 15th century really are still dealing with some of the things they went through "to get here"
The spirit world, call it what you may does not nor has it ever foresake it's children....It is the individual who made that choice. If this may sound harsh, but it isn't. It is never to late to embrace the spirit world, it is here, there, and everywhere waiting.Only the individual is he or she is who needs to let go of some of the bitterness, resentment, hatred, and self-pity. There is a reason why the eagle sours high in the sky.......
@heartfacedowl white owls? i am followed by white owls i see many crows, my dreams the owls follow me and i just see their faces they stare at me in total blackness almost as if haunting me i used to fear them now i feel embraced by their presense, the Deja Vu i get has made me look at the world in a new way for it being so intense and so overwhelming
Chances are good that over a century ago your great-great-great-grandfather was taken captive by the U.S. government and imprisoned in an Indian Boarding School. He would have been stripped of any Native American identity including his clothing, his language and his tribal name. He would have been given a new U.S. approved name which he probably chose from 3 lists on a chalkboard, like James and White and Owl. Up to 50% of his classmates died in school. His name would not have depended on tribe.
What a beautiful song, sends chills down my back, this earth it seems has seen it better days, but you can't just blame the whites for something that happend long ago, its happend all over and it is still happening today, some whites have realized the mistakes of their ancestors and now its happening again between africans and asians, for every race has done it to each other at some point in their history.
wow, your response touched me. i'm a "white" guy, and i agree with you. we are all variations of black....we are pink. i didn't have anything to do with destroying the indiginous population back then, nor did i own any slaves, but i understand why those persecuted peoples have resentment towards the whiteman. however, we are all flawed, and outside of bias, all groups are capable of atrociities. look at africa and south america, today. people in power are pyscopaths. human beings are not.
