Guga and Rob, thanks for taking us along on this incredible adventure. The scenery was beautiful and I could feel your emotion of seeing such majestic beauty for the first time. I live in Canada but the first mountains I ever saw were the Swiss Alps and I can remember how their splendour made me feel while standing atop of Mt. Rigi. There's just something about the beauty of snowcapped mountains that gets to the heart of your soul. I will be in Alaska in September and can't wait to experience all that it has to offer.
Omg… Yes! I have a thing for snowy mountains 🏔, it really touches my heart, I trade beach and sun for mountains and snow anytime!! Hahaha… Thanks for watching! 🥰 Guga
Great video!!We loved Skagway and The White Pass train ride! We went at the end of August and it was amazing. We bought the same hat on the train! The only thing I recommend with kids (and even without) on the train is bringing snacks! Stopped and bought $50 of popcorn and ate every bit of it during the ride. Lol
Great video we are doing our first cruise to Alaska this summer and we just bought this excursion. We are so excited you did a great job filming this and made us more excited! We have subscribed to your channel and are new supporters!! Wishing you more great videos and a growing channel! We cant wait to vlog this!
Awww thank you so much! We’ll back in Alaska in June! Even tho I absolutely loved this train, it was magica in May with all that snow, we decided to book a different excursion this time in Skagway, it’s gonna be the white summit, but on a van and we’ll actually have a change to explore on foot passing the Canada border and visiting the Suspension Bridge! I was torn between this one we picked and the train again, cause I was really curious about seeing a completely different scenario from the train during summer, and do a video like WITH/WITHOUT snow, but I decided to do something different! Anyway, it will not be the last time in Alaska, cause we absolutely loved it! I’m sure you gonna love it too! 😁 Guga
@@GugaandRob we are going un July from what I have seen the snow when u went is amazing u can maybe see more wildlife in summer but from videos winter looked amazing. I would do the same as u do a different adventure. We are big Hawaii people fell in love and go back often but wanted something different and from all the videos I think k we will love Alaska just as much but different looks breathtaking. Can't wait to see your June adventure we are going in July hope our paths cross one day but until then stay in touch!
@@justramblinaround yes! Most excited this time to see more wild life! So much so, that we book 3 whale and wild life watching in 3 different stops! 🤩 Ohh Hawaii is still on our bucket list! Hope to go there soon!
Wow that’s beautiful footage of your excursion I totally enjoyed it Alaska is so beautiful I must do that excursion when I go to Alaska next time thank you for sharing that with us love y’all stay safe out there 👍🏼👏🏼🙌🙏🏼🌹❤️💙😎🥳😍🚞
April/May are definitely the best months for Alaska cause the scenery is breathtaking cause the snow! Unfortunately less likely to see whales, bears, salmon, etc, but you will still catch some humpbacks 🐋 and keep your eyes to the open sea for some Orcas! Which ship you going on? Guga
Great video, it took me back to our trip to Alaska and we did the White Pass railway too - but at the end of September so no snow at all, just a bit of rain. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I do remember that particular bridge but I could not tell which trip I took although I do not recall those triangular shaped supports just before the opening. I think those might have been added at some point just to keep the integrity of that bridge!
Wow!! The views are amazing. Seeing the broken bridge just before going over a bridge, my stomach would be in my throat lol. Narnia yes ! 😀😀 absolutely stunning
Thanks Daniel for watching! I actually have a DJI Pocket 2 which is 4K, and also the Iphone 13 which films 4K as well… The thing is I filmed on the phone to be easier to handle the files and finish and post quicker, but only at the end of the day I realized the camera was shooting in 1080 instead of 4K! 🤦🏻♂️ I know, I’m a rookie! 🙈 Guga
Great video with amazing views.. what month was this? I want to make sure & do this excursion when there is snow like this. Great job capturing all the beauty!
Liza, I also want to send our positive thoughts and healing vibes to your other half. I can’t imagine what you are going through. We love you guys. Thank you for watching and pleased you can get some comfort by watching our videos. We are thinking of you and your family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Rob.
Thanks for the memories......I first took that trip in the early 60's with only 5-6 rustic, uncomfortable cars and it was spectacular then as it is now. The train itself has become so modern and to see 3 of them on one trip is quite different from my day. The scenery is the same except I did not have the excitement of seeing so much snow. Getting to Skagway back then was on a Twin Otter flight from Juneau and the town was still very rustic and not as clean as it is today. There is so much history tied to that area, I am glad to see so many people traveling there. Take care and stay safe!
Hey there, thank you for watching. The point where we passed the bridge that had fallen in the middle, do you remember that bridge and I believe it was 1969 when this happened? Rob
Hi! Can you book the train once you are out of the ship or you recommend to do it in advance? I am going in 3 weeks!!!! So excited!! Thanks for sharing detail videos about Alaska.
You mean, booking out of the cruise line? Yes you can, but I wouldn’t risk it, cause you may end up not being able to book it if its sold out for the day, or the times available may be later and you may not have enough to get back on board!
Hi friends, wonderful video! I’ve watched at least 3 times. Beautiful. Will be in Skagway next week and have this excursion booked. How cold was it on the train ride?
Awww thank you Marsha! Well, if I can remember was around 38 in the morning, then throughout the day got on the 40’s… I didn’t feel cold at all! The train is heated, my mom and Rob was comfortable the whole time, and I was outside the whole time and didn’t feel cold! Surprisingly when the train reached the top with all that snow, the sun came out and wasn’t as cold! But I’m like Elsa, the cold never bothered me anyway! Haha… And since you’re going a month later since we were there, temperatures will probably be better for you as well! Thanks for watching the video and have a magical time on your trip! Guga
Thank you! We’ll be in Alaska end of June again! 😁 Well, when we booked the excursion it said 2hours and half journey, but had no idea we would’ve spent almost 4 hours on the train, glad I always check excursion the must few hours before ship departure, and even then train taking longer then expected (didn’t mind that at all) we still had time left to stop by at a restaurant and see a charming street in Skagway, and took a bus back to the ship! Always make sure you tour ends few hours prior to all on board time, specially if you don’t book your excursion through the cruise line!
@@GugaandRob Thanks for your reply! Are you taking the train again? We are choosing from several diff packages, would you recommend to get a package that goes both ways with the train or one way train and back with a coach bus or vice versa?
@@hotpotgang even tho we were torn between doing the train again, cause for sure it will be a whole different scenario from all the snow we saw last time, or doing something different… We picked something different, we still going to visit the White Summit but by bus with a stop at the Suspension Bridge! About the train it all depends how much time you have and what you wanna see! If you go up on the train and back on a different way that means you u hop off the train and a chance to see something different other then the same way back on the train! Whatever you choose I’m sure its gonna be amazing! Just let us know afterwards what you’ve done and what you saw! 😁 Guga
No, it was already in my mind to get into the last one cause the little verandah, so when we were getting on board I just walked to the back one, and once departed the crew came to announce the time when it was ok to step outside! It was basically a first come first serve kind of thing! 😊 Guga
