The first time I was out at White Rock was a rainy day; it was also a couple of months after the 2022 floods. There was plenty of trail damage. I suspect those “nests” you saw were flood-caused; water swirling around branches coiling the loose vines. On that first trip I walked out along the path and planned to come back via the ridge trail - but as Mitch points out: “wouldn’t want to come back that way”. I got as far as the scramble up to the ridge - extra slick in the rain - and went back a different way. 😏

White Rock is situated in the town of Ipswich, in the suburb of White Rock; and First Nation’s People ask that nobody climbs said rock given it’s historical and cultural significance. There are signs that say as much 👍

Last time I was out there, over on the ridge, I could see a couple of tourists stomping around the top of White Rock itself. 😕
