i know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
You are amazing with your instructions. I have watched so many that seem like they just want to stroke their own ego. You never try to sell your own line of paint. You are here for the painters who simply want to learn how to paint better.....period.... thank you so much for sharing your special gift
i have been painting for over 30 years and your the best instruction artist ever , your soft tone , and delicate strokes of detail, not skipping around .
Thank you so much for.this lesson Marion. You have inspired and helped so many within the senior community. Many are now watching and painting for the very first time. Your teaching technique, and demo, along with how you explain so well allows for beginners to really.understand the concepts. Thank.you for your time, sharing, and beautiful lessons.
I love it when the instructor explains why they are doing this or that instead of assuming the viewer knows why they are doing something. Great instruction.
Just started painting at the age of 60 and loving it! Thank you for this very precise and easy lesson. My eyes aren't that good any more, so if the photographer could get up closer for these tutorials, it would really help this old lady out! Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!
Hello maam.I just wanted to say thank you! I am very new,I have yet to paint my 1st painting,I will start in 3 months,November finally.Your videos are so well taught. I feel I will be able to do this.i have wanted to paint all my life, and now I will get the chance.Great video, and easy on the eyes! God bless you.
From you I have learned a much better way to paint leaves. I was making it too complicated before but you have now shown me a much more simple way to paint beautiful leaves. Thank you so much!
Maz......I HAVE to say this.......I had just watched one of your tutorials, the first time I commented on here to you. After watching a lot more, I give you the biggest score to presenting with very clear directions, down to the unanswered question I had watching the Jenkins paint. In one of their videos, it was emphasized that the brush was Badger hair and was preferable for painting florals. Then I watch another video and Gary says ALL their brushes they sell are all synthetic and keep a better chisel edge. I bought one of their floral painting books and they do not make it plain when to use medium and when not to. Your videos are SO CLEAR and PRECISE, I have learned MORE from you. THANK YOU, for helping all of us aspiring artists. God Bless You.
Hello again Jordan. I'm so pleased you are picking up hints and tips. It's my hope to really break things down and I'm delighted if you've picked up something useful from the tutorial. And lovely of you to come back and add this extra comment I really appreciate that. You can always post your work on my FB page id love to see. Facebook.com/MazArt. Best wishes. X
I just found your exceptional tutiorial........watching you create such beautiful roses inspired me to want to oil paint again. After the passing of my only loving son. Ive lost my desire to want to paint or sing again. Thank you, for making me smile and lifting my spirits. You are very gifted.. God bless you.
Oh my dear I'm so Very very sad and sorry to hear about your loss. Ive just finished writing my book called "The Healing Art" on Amazon soon. It talks about this very thing of art & how it can help (not cure but it can help). I hope you continue to paint and sing and find your way through what must be unbearable. God bless you. X
I am just getting started on oils and trying to hone my skills to do more detail. I've been doing acrylics. I really like your tutorial and how you comment why you are doing what you are doing. I would really enjoy it if the photographer would keep more of the camera on what you are doing on the canvas that would help me a lot!!! You are really good at instructing. I am 70 and finally have time to paint and really concentrate on the techniques of painting. I just found you and am very excited to continue watching your tutorials. Thank you.
I just found you and I'm much impressed with the way you paint. I have painted for 30 some years and fell in love with doing portraits (no commissions) I do what I want. I also love painting flowers. I live in central Florida on the gulf coast. I also bead, polymer clay but my first love is painting. My favorite paint is Genesis Heat set oils. Can't take the smell of the turps and oils. I have COPD and Genesis has no smell. Thanks for the white rose beautiful and I look forward to more videos from you.
Virginia Derk I just read your comment and mentioning the Genesis Heat oil set is a blessing for me as I also have COPD so thank you for that, I thought I was destined to wear my mask all the time.
I haven't watched the instructions that are very long (time-wise) because I just haven't gotten to that point, but I happened to see you tonight and though, "Let me see what this is all about". Wow! I am so impressed with your instructions, simplicity, camera work, detail, being able to see exactly what you're doing as you say it, and on, and on, and on. Unfortunately, I can't go to classes because even though I have worked for almost all my life, I am no longer able to do so because of some health issues (Lyme Disease, Pernicious Anemia, etc.) Without being able to pay, there are no classes, or so I thought. Thank you for giving your time and experience and helping people like me learn how to do the things they thought they'd never be able to get instruction for at this point in their life. I was so disappointed when I realized that I wouldn't be able to afford classes and then came you. I have noticed some others on here that at some point I will look at how they instruct, too, but I just wanted to say "Thank You" for being there and sharing for those of us who are trying to learn and never thought they'd be able to for one reason or another.
This is probably around the time that I was painting the picture with the tree and walk way (I'm outside and don't remember the name right now). I'm just wondering where I found it on here.
Maz the very BEST instruction for a beginner (watercolor) in Oil.you have provided a great baseline for my new medium. No other instruction even came close to the very clear, concise way you present each step. Keep on, keeping on!
I have been painting for 3 months now. Not a lesson of sketching or painting before, and out fo the 10 - 12 paintings I have done watching youtue videos, your Silent Night and Simple Silhoutte turned out the best. You are a great instructor ! Thank you!
Thank you your Great teacher finally a method beginners can understand in order to draw and paint my beloved Rose at 72 yrs age this is my retirement inter train ent, thank you again
white rose painting is amazing It is very clear and understand how you draw Madam have you got any reward from your fields any way you are genuine artist
Thank you so much Ms.Marion by watching how you paint teaches me how to highlight and the strokes techniques...Made me realized Ive been doing my painting the wrong way.Im a self taught beginner and love painting roses. And cannot paint white roses. So now I will try how you do it.I like oil than acrylic due to the vivid colors of oil.I will be watching more of your videos.
Fantastic white rose painting I going to try it In acrylics I'm 64yrs old and have just started painting on canvas thank you for your videos jeanette in Sussex
great tutorial. you actually show the simple basic mechanics of painting in the background using oils, something that NONE of the many other instructional videos do. you have jst shown me that with a touch of linseed oil and a 1" brush I can fix the background of my current painting which is a mess (tried doing it in acrylics but they don't blend the same as oils). I can now paint a very thin layer of linseed over the acrylic and then repeat the colours using oils only blending them from strong at the edges to very faint in the centre. Thank you so much and I look forward to watching all your other videos for further practical instruction in the mechanics of oil painting which is what makes the finished flowers or whatever stand out. Bad background, bad finished article.
You have such a wonderful way of explaining whys and reasons....I am definitely going to paint this rose with you! Thank you! My sister and I love your accent!
Thank you. Just what I need. I can’t wait to paint this with your guidance. I read you already fixed the camera problem which is good!! I’ll look for the other videos.
Hello Maz. I just want you to know that , you are a very special human being. You painting is Fantastic Maz. I don't like it, i actually adore it. I love your Art. You've inspired me more. May God bless you and inspire you every day. Keep your Light Burning!

Thank you maz; I have seen u working after long time , ihave learnt a lot, you have improved much in ur teaching but you have become a serious teacher which u were not in early teaching
i really enjoyed your instruction. I am a beginner painter so I need all the instruction I can get... so keep teaching on you tube please. Thanks again!!!
This was so nice to see, a good lesson. It was quiet well explaned, I will try out to make my own one....! I'll see you back you know. Thank You Very Much!
Magnifique !!! j'adore !!! c'est merveilleux de savoir peindre comme cela , dommage que ce ne soit pas traduit en Français car je ne comprends pas l'Anglais. Je vais continuer à regarder vos vidéos. Bravo !
I am Hadi Sakhipour From Iran and painter so I 'm really interested about your painting because You have magic highlighting method and that was amazing job that i like it
Hi! I have really enjoyed watching you paint this rose, and I have to say you gave great easy ways to paint the petals and leaves...I want to learn so bad how to paint really anything because I can draw pretty good but for some reason when I go to paint I just can't seem to do it. I was told that because I'm a perfectionist and I worry to much that that's why I'm having some difficult time painting...I'll just keep trying but thank you for your calming voice and showing how you paint.
I have a lot of folk tell me they are perfectionist. It is difficult to be one and to be an artist you need to learn to let go. Why don't you try to do small studies rather than one big painting that way you wont get frustrated if it doesnt work out - you can practise that way - it is how I learned to do many of the paintings I do now. Lots of small studies no matter what the topic is. Hope this helps but mostly enjoy and have fun.
Tried painting along with you this morning...Mine .... not so good. But your's is beautiful and your instruction superb. Please do more large florals...I love them!
I’m 5 minutes in your video and already have learned more on how to start a painting than DOZENS of other “teachers”...THANK YOU for starting the process at the beginning for us newbies (I am BRAND NEW-just did my first one yesterday) Quick question- if you were to start with a white canvas, how would you get the blue canvas color on it?...then coat that with linseed oil and follow you from there with the yellow back glow color?
I always enjoy watching your tutorials and am learning a lot from them. Thank you for them and for the FREE opportunity to always learn something new. You are a pleasure to watch.
For decades, I had problem with painting. Because I used too many mediums and they made my paints less absorbent and paint just floated on the surface. But I watched your painting. It was so beautiful, so natural and so inspiring. And all the medium you used was just Linseed oil. Thank you so much for solving my problem. Please suggest which oil paints you used and what kind of canvas.. Because I can't decide among many varieties of things at Hobby Lobby..
Good job! I really learned and enjoyed your tutorials a lot since you had closed captioning on your shows since I am deaf-muted artists so I thank your painting. God bless you and your talents!!! 🎨🤟🏻👵🏼
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have watched 3 videos before you and they all said they were for beginners, but they did't have the direction you gave. I could not figure out why you were using linseed oil. Now I know, I thought I was watching an Acrylic lesson!!! Of course I am going to try the technics you used for the leaves and high lighting. It was amazing how the flower and the leaves came alive with the high lighting. I have subscribed to you even though I will probably never get into oils. I will stick to my watercolor and acrylics. You are a very good instructor and I wish you did watercolor and acrylics
I do all three mediums. Check out my website there’s a wonderful full length watercolour for free called music men. There’s also a lot of full length acrylics. Plus oil over acrylic (which I tell you can also be done totally in acrylic & I give instructions on how during the lesson). mazartstudio.com/school
fantastic Marion, I cannot believe the painting I have done, just following your straightforward, very clear guidance. Do you have any full instructions on the hydrangeas. I am hooked. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Fantastic tutorial I like the way you explained how to use the linseed oil; cleaning your brush constantly etc, the best I have seen since taking up painting in lock down. Keep up the good work and looking forward to watching more tutorials. 😊
Hi Marion, I've watched this tutorial 4 times in preparation for attempting my own version which I did today. I've got a lot to learn, but if no one sees your original painting, mine looks quite pretty. My biggest problem seems to be getting my paint the right consistency and intensity, so that I can get the same effects you showed. All in all, I feel that I've gained some confidence in what I'm doing and will try this again sometime. Thank you for your valuable instruction.......you are indeed my favorite artist to date!
Mary Nausadis aww thank you Mary that’s lovely. And don’t show anyone mine !! If you are happy then that’s great. I tell my students not to show the original photo when the do portraits- often the painting is great but when you show people the original photo you open yourself up to nit picking 😁. If you are happy then I am too 😁😁😁.
this painting does not deserve a dislike but there are haters everywhere, beautiful job marion''maz'' you paintings are amazing , thank you for sharing
You make it look so easy! I enjoy all the detail you give in your instruction. Love your leaf demo, technique and color. Thanks for your generosity in sharing.
Absolutely entertaining. On the edge of my seat, mesmerizing with every single stroke. You are not only an extremely talented artist, you are also an incredible teacher. You have that rare ability to keep your students yearning to learn more. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge with me and for being so damned good at it!!
