Nicks and whites should be paying you manny! Your videos and posts on FB have changed my mind and influenced 3 of my boot orders!! :D These boots are gorgeous…
Thabk you for the comment brother! Glad the videos help you, is the main purpose. I will never accept money 💰 form them, so I can speak always freely about their boots. I have a personal relation with Nicks but always will speak loud the good and bad. Thanks my friend ! Send me pics of your boots
@@MIIIB To you, too, Manny. I was late seeing your post because we were hunting the past week. No shooting but we enjoyed being in the beautiful forest camping. Let me know if you want me to send any pics of our outing. 🙂
I liked your review! I ordered MP-M1 half lug in British tan chromexel, and they’re being made right now. I can’t wait to wear them for decades. This will be my first pair of White’s.
You choose a very nice-looking good Evan. I'm glad my video helped. Thank you for your support brother. Send pics when you get them!!! My blessings to you 🙏
Just picked up a pair exactly like yours, but in Navy horsehide. The new stitch down is more comfortable than the old hand sewn, and I have 3 pair. That said, I think I’d still prefer the latter if only for the perceived quality, but I love the new clean look of the stitch down. Awesome pair of boots. And I think the QC at White’s is getting better and better.
Great!! Video!! Love the honest opinion from someone that actually wears the boots and not just trying to promote shit from sponsors like Thursdays and grant stones
Good boots! Se ve que este cuero se va a desarrollar de una manera increíble, siempre me a gustado los tonos mas naturales, creo que tienen mas potencial para desarrollar carácter! Saludos Many!
Beautiful boots Manny! I was close to ordering a pair when they did the run but I already have a horsehide Bounty Hunter so I passed. Wish I didn't! lol
@@danisnotstan1 I have 3 Indonesians boots that are experiments of my fast buying. I don't regret but I learned to not buy Indonesians 😆. It happens brother
I got a pair of whites mps. they were wonky one boot bigger than the other width wise. so I sold them. I currently have a pair of urban loggers brown waxed and Americana in #8 chromexcel. had a pair of builder pros but had to return them. snagged Both as ready to ship pairs. funny thing the Americana is a quarter inch difference length wise its a 7.5 and the loggers are 9. same size essentially
These are awesome Manny! I want a pair but unfortunately they were a limited run. I have flat feet and like that the 55 last from Whites isn’t as pronounced arch as Nicks.
Absolutely. I have a low arch foot and the 55 whites with 1/4" low heel works very good. At the beginning you feel a bit uncomfortable the arch, some pressure but once breaken your weight push down the arch a bit and now fit perfectly
Beautiful boots Manny! If you hadn’t said they were Horse rump leather, I would have guessed Natural CXL. Did you trim the kiltie like you have done before?
I ordered some 350 Cruisers on the Black Friday sale, but they didn’t offer E. Only D and EE. I read their measurements page and based off my foot measurement, it seems the EE would be too wide. So I’m hoping these D’s aren’t too snug.
I dont know why I am not a big fan of the stitchdown construction, maybe it is something I have to try one day. I have only had the goodyear welt and that is what I am used to see. Are those the boots you are wearing on the Patina thunderdome 2?
I agree with you Manny, a few cosmetic scratches is completely unimportant. Only people who’ve never worked a trade job would bitch about this. Boots are meant to be used and sometimes even abused. If you know how to care for and maintain your boots, a few scratches don’t matter and give character to the boots. Like battle scars!
Most of the horserump. I gave them 1 coat of oil and then leather cream. Since it is a very dry leather, the oil helps, and the cream keeps hydrated. In the end, it doesn't matter. I care about my boots but am not obsessed with being clean all the time. Mean to work and push hars.
I do same size in both brands. Want to add that I always request 1/4" in low heel with Whites. The first wears I feel a lot the arch support which is not my favorite but with time the arch collapse and break, then fit perfect.
@@MIIIB Thank you so much for the reply. I have several pair of White’s in their 55 last, and I love the way they fit. I’m on the fence about purchasing my first pair of Nick’s in the W&C oiled tan latigo, but I don’t want them to be too snug if I drop down to the HNW last. People say the lasts that have lower arch support seem to run smaller than the ones with higher arch lasts, and as you know, purchasing a pair of $700 boots is a rather big commitment. I don’t want to spend the extra $100 and prolong my wait another 3 months, so I’m in a bind. Again, thanks for helping me out!
@@justinklein2982 I understand you brother. Indo low arch but even myself feel a bit snug the boots always before breaking, after time they expand and fit perfect. However, I have some pairs that fit snuggier and other more loose, same model, same last, same size, handmade we are up to the devotion of the cobbler. Even then all my boots fot perfect after breaking. CXL will expand more with time, veg tan don't stretch, latigo will stretch too. If you give oil to boots fibers will expand, etc... My latigo had stretch quite a lot to the point that if I take the kiltie off, the eyelets will be very closed each other (lace space), my veg tan boots stretch little thanks to the oil I applied and now fit perfect. I think is more wise to choose the type of leather than worry about how tight can be, can turn in your favor if you choose Latigo. Just a bit of help from my side brother
Manny, did you do the standard half size down on these. Bought some cruisers recently. 10.5D on brannock but did 10D on the cruiser and the fit is perfect but when I crouch the leather on the toe box I think where the celastic part ends kind of crushes the part of my big toe leading up into my instep and hoping it gets better as i wear it. Only had it 1 day so far.
@@MIIIB Hey Manny, quick question. How do you deal with sweat stains? Or are they not an issue because you have so many boots in rotations? Not sure what it does to the leather long term or how to get rid of the dark spots on the boots.
@@Justin-pu7qi I will be very honest buddy, a few of my boots have sweat spots and with a saddle soap cleaning goes away. People don't liked my answer since will dark they leather a bit but it is what it is.
@@MIIIB some of my boots have them and others don't. I wonder if how the leather is tanned and how much oils are injected in during the process have anything to do with it.
@@MIIIB They fit perfect into the hooks on PNW boots and they are slightly stretchy and feel good. my leather NICKS ones snapped in under 3 months in vietnam summer but the Dr martens ones are still good on 12inch boots. My yellow ones got stained from boot cream though. I dont have any of the cotton variety just the common ones. They had them on sale for 1 dollar so i got a bunch of weird colors.
I've seen a video of White's boots being made where the sanding guy scuffed a boot. He works way too fast and isn't careful at all. Seems stupid to me, and I don't get why he's in such a hurry. Also, it's a lower standard of quality control. Nick's has said they wouldn't let a boot pass if it was scuffed during sanding. I wouldn't worry about it, but it should be entirely avoidable if the guys would have a little more care about their work.
I don’t think that’s fair. It’s true that Whites quality control is hit or miss but I’ve gotten three pairs that were perfect. Also I’ve seen multiple pairs of Nicks posted on forums with scuffs from sanding.
@@righturnclyde I've heard Grant from Nick's say something about how a boot could be ruined during the sanding process, but I'm not sure whether little scuffs pass their QC. He was saying how the sanding guys need to careful because a slip could mean all the work up till that point would go to waste. I can't remember exactly what he said. All I'm saying is, there's no reason for the guys at White's to sand the boots so quickly. A little bit more care would go a long way. A half minute more on each boot isn't going to back things up. Haste makes waste. It's probably because of the whole production line thing. A guy who's only job is sanding the edges hardly gets to engage in any real craftsmanship.
Judging an entire company, who has delivered pair after pair of perfect boots to me, based on some video you saw? Now that sounds stupid to me. I’ll side with the craftsmen over the entitled whiner in the comments section.
@@DABA2024 who passed judgement on the entire company? And who's whining? What a dumb thing to say. But I won't go any further to insult your intelligence, ain't worth it.
Hey brother!!! I don't share your perspective but I understand what you saying. I think of course if was because of negligent action of the sanding department, they need to place more attention. I can't judge just by looking, a few hands took them in each stage. I don't mind at all because both look the same. I think if was QC they would hit different areas and not the exactly both spot. 🤔 sounds like a dilema 😆. Anyways , thank for passing by let's see if other got the same spot, if yes, then we need to go a kick some sanding tech butts 💪
