How do you find white’s sizing compared to redwings? I wear a 10 in sneakers and 9.5 in some dress shoes and the iron rangers. Wonder what I should order for the MP.
Tech, I really enjoy your reviews. Thank you. I need to decide between White's MP and Nick's Americana. I would prefer comfort over ultimate durability. But, which one?
I ordered these exact same boots, 15 week ago, I have about 10 more weeks of wait before they ship out. Sure do hope I have the sizing right, fingers crossed.
I just watched one of your videos, 'White's MP-Sherman Boots in British Tan Chromexcel - Still The Iconic American Service Boot!' and I must declare not only did I learn a great deal about the specific boot mentioned, I discovered I actually knew very little about the proper care of leather footware too! Thanks again for the education and, in fact I've bookmarked your video series to better educate myself regarding the remarkable details that make up a quality leather boot and how best to take care of them.
@@bentolinmaddox9806 you are an uneducated pair of brain cells. Do yourself a favour and use your fingers on your keyboard for an educational reason and Google “Reconciliation Australia”
I think it was a joke, but regardless, this acknowledgement of country has gone too far, it's not about reconciliation anymore, it's ridiculous. I don't want my Aussie born and bred kids growing up in Australia thinking this isn't their land as well. We're all one people, Australians, let's use that to pull together instead of repeating the rubbish about acknowledging of owners of land, that's promoting an us/them mentality and is setting things back further. You may think it helps to reconcile with indigenous Australians, but its not creating a nice society for our kids being constantly told that this isn't their land and they have to acknowledge it belongs to other people. It's this constant pushing of this idealogical nonsense that's got a lot of people fed up with it, so it's no wonder the referendum resulted in a big No. These statements are always forcing race into something that is nothing about race, be it boots, AFL etc. Let people just enjoy a boot video without always acknowledging its not Australian land for all Australians.
Absolutely love your channel! Received my first pair of White’s MP’s in black chromexcel last week. They are absolutely amazing boots…well worth the 5 1/2 month lead time. I’m a size 15D on the Brannock scale. I did the self-measuring procedure and after speaking with the folks at White’s, ordered a size 14D boot. They fit me perfectly. Hope to order another pair of MP’s in natural chromexcel the next time White’s has a sale. I always enjoy your videos, and share your passion for boots. Thanks for all you do!
@@ptanks15 My wife helped me with White’s measuring recommendations. We used a cloth tape measure along with tracings of my feet. Guess I was lucky…the 14D’s were perfect.
Awesome you’re look with MP Boots , I’m interesting Custom MP Boots ,i’m wear SmokeJumper(BountyHunter) in Last 55,can I choose MP last same last 55 size?
I really want a one boot that can patina over time and be resoled for many times. I have been looking at just biting a bullet between this or a vibergs. or should i start from Red wings considering this is my first boot. any recommendations?
Start with a Thursday. If it’s your first boot a RW will feel very stiff for you. Thursday is $199 and has some great leathers that will patina. See if you like it, then “graduate”
@@Bootlosophy I would love to try out other boots aside from RW but the problem is the availability and the sizing. Its the only boots that i can think off that i can start from in my country because its the only boot that has a physical shop. I might take your advice to take it from cheap and go to London to size my Vibergs if i like the boots feeling from RW.
What would you guys consider to be a little bit more affordable heritage boot that comes from more of a work boot company like Whites? In other words, what’s the next best boot that I can work in with a lug sole but has the Heritage look?
I'd love to see a review of the new Rossi Kidman boots. They also did a special addition stitch down casual look boot not long ago. I think it was caused Simpson. They are doing good things there.
Thanks for the video! I’m hoping to buy a pair of MP / Sherman. A little tricky with sizing though! Would you mind offering some tips? I’m normally a 7D in most shoes but really want room for my toes to splay out. According to your video, would you recommend a size 6.5 E? Thanks if you can help!!
Im not sure 6.5 EE would give you room to splay out. I’d probably stick with 7 D but best to check with Whites or go through Bakers Boots and get fitted.
Great channel! Did you say what size these were? I have a pair of these and I am a size 11 US. I went down to a 10 1/2 and they fit amazing. They are long in the toe but everywhere else they’re the most comfortable heritage boot I own I had no heel slip no hotspots no breaking in . I’m just wondering what the full size down E width is actually like? If you blindfolded me and put my boots on right now, I wouldn’t even know that they were long in the toe. On the MP page on their website, it says right there that most buyers would be good to go a half size down. So I’m thinking that long toe box is just part of that particular last.
This particular pair are 7D when I’m usually 8D or half down. They fit, but when you lace them up, the lace facings are far apart. I have 3 other pairs at 8D and IMO my best fit would be 7.5 EE, full size down, a width up.
How much sleeker is the dainite compared to half lug? I am considering a resole for a dressier look but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Also, I picked up a pair of 350 cruisers and wow they are amazing
The boot in this video is the British Tan leather? Really? It looks far darker than I would've guessed. If that colour is the British Tan, then I guess that means that the brown Chromexcel is quite dark? Like, say, dark chocolate? Someone once told me that the Whites brown chromexcel was a lighter colour, like milk chocolate, and they said the British Tan was the colour of peanuts. Is this incorrect? Should i expect the brown to be very dark and the tan to be like what I see in this video?
The British Tan is, well, “tan”. Nattie CXL starts a light honey brown but gets darker and darker brown. You can check out my video on MP sizing which have both. Brown CXL on the other hand is an even medium/dark brown and has no “reddish” tan tint to it
