I wonder how many people have been inspired to grow their own fruits. It’s hard to describe the feeling you get when you harvest your own after conquering any and all obstacles. Still kicking myself for not having done this 20 years ago. Thanks for yet another drool worthy video. Oh btw what are the rings you have around the base of most of your trees?

These videos will be up for many years, so it's been worth it. The tree rings are for slow watering in the dry of summer.

Wow your garden is breathtaking! I mean everything looks so healthy! I am in Florida and so far the best I can get Suebelle- rated pretty high here. Thank you so much for showing and sharing your labor of love garden! ❤

Have you tried “tangle foot” to combat your scale problems? It keeps the ants from climbing your trees and tending to the scale as mealy bugs. Great orchard btw! I enjoy your videos a lot!

I had a seed grown one too which also took 10 years. The tree died back within months of setting its first fruit at 5 metres height!

Ive had a couple Suebelle fruit already - it flowers almost all year - ive got far too many varieties as ive found they all basically taste the same - not tasted Chris yet (supposedly one of the best) or had fruit on the orange skinned types like Vernon or Macs Golden?

Yes, I agree. I don't recommend to grow white sapote from seed because it took 9 years from my seeded tree. And I also heard many seedlings bear small and a little bitter fruit, and some of them doesn't have pollen, although my tree is excellent, have pollen, large, and non‐bitter. However, 9 years are too long.

Hi George, lovely video. I am planning to buy Hawaiian supreme white sapote from Daley's. Do you think I need more than one for pollination? I only have space for one. Thanks for always replying to my questions.

I just found your comment. I initially planted 5 varieties on the same day, so I can't confirm which ones are self fertile. I hope you bought the one that fruits by itself.

@@RealLifeFruitopia thanks George! I have chosen kampong variety. Hope you are well and keeping on top of all the black scale.

That's one 'indoor' tropical I want to try here in the UK, I've found a couple of nurseries that have some for sale on mainland Europe ( not named varieties of course).

I've got a 'Mc Dill' variety. It is very vigorous and non-fussy. It has a very strong root system. I've had no problems with it. Hopefully it will fruit this year (I acquired it last summer). It goes outside with my citrus when there's no frost forecast. Even in winter I try to give my plants as much natural light as possible by putting them outside. The downside is that, at this time of year, clear sunny blue skies by day means frost at night. So, they all have to come in after dusk. My 'more tropical' plants such as my mango, carambola, avocado, sapodilla, papaya, coffee, acerola, black pepper vine, curry tree, guavas, atemoya and soursop are all indoors and under LED lights, with humidity supplementation. "In, out; in, out, shake it all about. That's what it's all about".

Why those trees were planted with their pot? Pots restrain the roots and slow the growth of the trees. But I guess you must have a good reason to do it that way...
