One gripe I have with this game is just how Ultramarines a lot of the drip is. I have Space Wolves colorscheme on my Tactical and seeing laurels on a space wolf just looks...wrong so i have to stick to the early gear that doesnt look too Roman
yep! hopefully something they can expand on a bunch with the Chapter skin packs and updates. I'm just hoping they dont lock all the cool options behind a specific Hero skin for each chapter. If its a Blood Angels theme pack, definitely want to see an awesome skin like Sanguinary Guard or Death Company or whatever, but gotta add a bunch of heraldry and ornaments and details that anyone can use alongside that, without having to play the specific Hero skin
@milkandcookiesTW I just want wolf pelts and runes man. For Blangels, at least the laurels and gold go well with their aesthetic, the only extra thing I'd want for them is the ability to have a gold helmet and the more decorative ruby blood drop version of their chapter sigil to put on one of their pauldrons instead of just the decal you can put on it now. Sanguinary Guard is the obvious pick for the champion assault though, even if ive never been partial to the gold abs and death mask look
@@fenris5932 I imagine they'll add stuff like that as cosmetic DLC in the future, that seems like an easy way to make a ton of money. They're doing that with the Dark Angels soon, so I'd expect most of the Legions to at least, but potentially some of the chapters as well.
As someone who knows nothing about 40k lore, I've had so many reservations on dripping out my character knowing some of the hardcore fans look at me like an abomination lmao.
The Thousand Sons missions could have the same feeling of fun as the Tyranids do, if the game had put in bouncing hordes of Pink and Blue Terrors to rip through.
Completely agree on ops still being fun dozens of runs in. My buddies and I have run Inferno like a million times now, and it has yet to ever lose its luster. If they start expanding enemy types, adjust Chaos, and ideally boost rewards from Quick Play, it'll open up variety a lot more and maintain that level of enjoyment even longer
Haven't played much ops and when I do play space marine its the multiplayer (I LOVE ASSAULT), but mostly there has been a lot coming out, Darktide Update, Rogue Trader DLC, Forever Winter, Hawken PVP in a few days. Just not enough damn time!
To answer the question you brought up near the end, no Lethal is not coming tomorrow. Tomorrow is widescreen support, the sparring arena/training dummy area of the battle barge, and private PvE lobbies. Lethal, the new enemy and operations, and the volkite pistol (plus the dark angels cosmetics) are all coming sometime later this year. My money's on November, but we'll see when they announce it.
It’s “ha ha meaty auto fire” and “ha ha funny boom tube”. It’s a lot of primal feel good shooting in one package, it could suck and I would still use it, but it also rocks on its own merits!
Yeahhhh but that’s just the nature of the game. I mean lore wise not every space marine can hang with each other. You just got to get good enough to carry.
Does anyone else think it's weird to hear a British guy coming out of a White Scar? Probably a pipe dream, but it would be nice to have alternate actors' voice profiles.
Not really when it’s 40k years into the future and people come form other planets. Voices having different cultural dialects form how they look doesn’t really bother me. But I get it, if a Space Wolf sounded like a guy form Compton it probably would be weird.
I am not bored with the ops and I've also only been playing the first 2 missions because I'm waiting for my friend to play the campaign and finish it. It's surprisingly replayable.
For your question regarding Operations: I enjoy them still, however I feel the burnout starting to come since I am restricted to like 3 Operations since I hate playing Chaos missions. Those shields literally took all the fun out of it for me. The only part about Chaos missions I like more than the Nids was the fact one chaos mission has a Dreadnaught and Dead Emperor Titan in it. which is just flavour.
I really struggled with anything past the lowest difficulty for awhile but after gaining some more levels (not weapons but skills only), I can do substantial without too much trouble solo. I think the level recommendations are way too low for the difficulty levels. Average at level 5 is extremely difficult for some classes.
oh no now its going to be nerfed ): And I felt so clever for making this build myself. Also the Relic Fencing Chainsword is bugged, it counts as balanced instead of fencing so switch to the mastercrafted one
I haven't gotten bored of the operations yet. I wish I could play more, but work and school take priority. My one complaint or critique is that I want more reward for completing missions on higher difficulties. More armory data or just more currency would be nice to unlock more drip and perks
I suppose benefit of the doubt as to the killing the swarm, they might just count it as a success if all the nearby synapse creatures got taken out and there's nothing to exert control over the remaining gaunts. I'll admit it could have looked more convincing though.
They are also fixing the overheal bug in this patch I believe. So people crutching on it will certainly feel the sting. That said I also think once the bugged ways to heal are fixed. It will shine a light on pain points when it comes to the combat and general flow of the game. Healing atm is nerfed the higher you get as you know with less stimms and them healing you less and less. Making you far less likely to want to get stuck in on the chaff and just aoe them down. At the same time, you also don't want to actually melee them and instead just sit back and parry the entire time. I think with the reduction of enemy health (coming in this update I think as well) it will open up a much better desire to mix it up between ranged and melee. Instead of just burning everything down with just aoe. As is, things can be done yes. But it can get tedious. You can't honestly tell me any sort of gaunt can tank 5-7 Relic level weapons to the body and that is k. In terms of getting bored. I think much of that will be alleviated when they add more enemies to face in different combinations. Perhaps another minoris to each faction with something in between that and a majoris, with another majoris to round things out will keep things fresh. And when it comes to the waves I get what you mean. But unlike a game with Adjusting difficulty, why should I be punished for doing well?
I'm trying to level up my other characters, but if/and how much they decide to nerf the grenade launcher, I'd like to already be prepared with other weapons like the Stalker or one if the wide assortments that Tactical can make great use of.
I have played inferno a fair number of times, I have never seen that use the lever to fix the crane thing lol. I like operations and definitely agree that tyranids are more fun to fight, I think that mostly comes down to tzangors with shields being absolute tedious bullshit.
I agree as i have gotten better at the game ive felt like the balance and weapons are all good time to kill isnt too bad if your landing them parries and activating your passive. Im normally a deathguard black templar tac love the game its feels so good when yoou play well!
Quick lore question that I can't seem to find the answer to. What does the VI refer to on the right pauldron? It's not Sixth legion right? The Ultramarines were the 13th... Is it their company?
its 6th company, which is the company some of the Ultramarines in game are a part of in Space Marine 2. right now i think its the only numerical Company designation we have in game
Operations on Tyranids is great, operations on Tzeench is not. Really the biggest thing is that Tzangores need to be nerfed, health is too high for chaff and their shields needs to be paper instead of eating melta, full charge plasma and entire mags of bolter ammo.
7:50 Is it normal that a Tyranid will just stand there as their buddy get exploded right next to them? Did the blast put it under some Stagger or Stun effect?
The AI director can be a bit unforgiving sometimes and makes for really intense missions but it is a tad random. I played an average mission with bots to test a perk out on the train mission and I faced 1 lictor all the way through. Until the end where I faced a massive wave, then a double zoanthrope and carnifex at once, followed by another massive wave and a ravener then one last massive wave. Must have spent 30 minutes just on that bit alone.
What do you think of the concept of Coop Missions with 4x Space Marines and 4x Chaos Space Marines each starting in their own area of the map, completing their own objectives and after some while they inevitably clash upon each other, and the surviving team completes the mission?
Well boys maybe i am alone in this but i truly don't like Space marine 2. I feel like i am made out of paper , hand to hand commbat dosent feel as good as in DarkTide or VerminTide. All my friends couldn't play this game and alone i feel it's just don't get it for me. But it's not bad by any means it is just my opinion. Playing against ZanGors is a nightmare xD i can't kill one fuker with a shield that thing is made out of Dimand or something. I liked the campaign although very very short but fun. Multi feels okay but reminds me of For Honor but with shooting and not as fun. Well here is my shity opinion, and i haven't reached level 20. Because it is an age to load the game then server connection lost and so on not stable at least for me i cant sit in front of the computer for 2 hours and only played 2 games. But i love Warhammer and Warhammer 40k so i hope this game will get better and better.
In complete fairness I think your first criticism is a skill issue. I never have a tackiness issue. Also I personally think the melee is far more fun when you learn how to flow. Most games I never go down once on Ruthless. Especially with decent squads I will not go down. I agree servers have been rough but by no means terrible. Zangores are overturned but arnt unbearable just kinda corny. You just need to heavy more. What weapons are you using and at what difficulty. Also what class are you using.
