That was kinda mean honestly. When you're away for so long, it is really hard on the pet. They don't know you're ever coming back, they just miss you. When you return, you just gotta return joyfully and let them go bananas with the happies.

This is so sweet. I’ve noticed that most dogs hate hoodies and are very cautious and untrusting of anyone with their hood up. It really freaks them out. I’ve seen this behaviour so many times.

I was able to study abroad while in college. I was away for 4 months. My favorite memory was when I came home a couple of days before Christmas. I watched Paddy, my Bichon at the time, as she greeted my parents. Then I went up and whispered, "Paddy!" I swear she did a TRIPLE take! Then for a half hour, Paddy ran around, barked, did Bichon blitzes, and I laughed, cried and tried to catch my little dog. For the next 72 hours, Paddy wouldn't let me out of her sight! If I moved an inch, she was up watching me and ready to follow me. I lost Paddy to cancer in 2000. I miss her so much.

Sorry but I don’t think this was a nice thing to do to your lovely dog. Presumably his mama was taking the video and she wasn’t scared of the intruder so he was completely confused. He clearly loves you so much that a quick video of him welcoming you would have been a beautiful thing to see, so I suggest something along those lines next time you go away and spare him the trauma, I’d give it a like! 😊
