@@stysner4580 When you're playing English, go for early Fuedal aggression and tower his gold before he has enough gold to get to caslte age. Horsemen are probably best because they can catch up to and easy kill the opponents king if you have enough of them. Then if the gold is towered they can't make another one and can't age up. Before they make a barracks and start producing spears, you make an archery range and start producing archers. Then camp his gold, constantly check his second gold etc.

@@stysner4580 Rus are probably the best against white tower rushing, besides maybe Mongols. You normally have lots of scouts because of bounty, so it's really hard for a pack of villagers to make it across the map without you noticing. You also have the Kremlin, which means that they can't white tower in range of that anyway and it only has 1 tile of range less than than the white tower. On top of that you can levy militia to help with killing all the villagers before they put down the white tower. I do agree with Abassid though, that would be probably the worst match-up. You'd have to go with early Fuedal units to counter it, which isn't really in line with their meta. Also you have house of wisdom, so if they do some how slip through and white tower you without you noticing, you can't even just move away and build an age 3 landmark elsewhere. You do have the advantage though that you can make rams without researching the tech, so you can take it down really quickly if it does get up.

@@stysner4580​​⁠ It is all about correct decisions in matchups. IF you play Rus you have a Kremlin that you should put in correct place to secure resources and you have Militia on top of that. If you play Abbasid you probably go Culture Wing against English and thanks to that you can have quicker advance to Castle and you can make Rams without researching it. You should also have more eco with two TCs as Rus or Abba. And always if you see opponent goes heavy on gold it is FC and you either go mass units to punish naked FC or you go FC yourself. And you should have it quicker because of English vills walking. Then spam units MAA or Knights, maybe one treb to siege WT. Also these days if you are passive you probably loose against anything. It is always good to have an early harrassement to slow down the opponent in Feudal or explode with mass units in Castle (and to do that you have to have good macro) - for example mass on wood while aging up to have production.

maybe just a grace period, at a certain point in the game if you let the enemy put a keep or landmark or something by your tc when you have good production its kind of your fault.

@@sixshootersteve3459I think the point is that there’s really no reason for the white tower to be both a castle-style landmark AND a production style landmark. It’s not game breakingly overpowered, but it’s way stronger than it needs to be and stronger than almost any other castle age landmark in the game.

with Mongols you can move your buildings away from WT range. Idle time but is easier to counter

English can troll you, stay home, build white tower at home and go farms, your units are now useless.

if you aren't low leagues, you will always be 1. scouting your enemy and 2. making units (to rush or to defend). You don't need to know this strat is coming to counter it.

He didn't blind counter it in any of the games. And its not like its hard to scout. If your opponent has 0 vills on wood, they're going fast castle, and its probably white tower rush or they'd have 3-4 on wood. Beasty played meta in all of those games, so if you react to it upon seeing 8 vills on gold and 0 on wood, at 5-6 minutes, you're probably in the same spot beasty was in.

@@giancignani7682 I'm gonna start with my conclusion, cause I think it will put us on the same page more. I think this strategy should be nerfed. But the reason why is not because its such a good strategy. Its because its a coin flip strategy, where you make a bet that your opponent hasn't seen it before and doesn't know how to respond. Nobody likes losing their game to coin flips, most people want their games to be decided by skill or at least perceived skill (and white tower rush will never be perceived skill even if it did require skill to do). I think this is kind of like, a dt rush in starcraft, but the average player doesn't know cloaked units exist. I was diamond in sc2, and I lost to a silver player dt rushing me before, cause I just didn't know the timing on dts. But, on the other hand, I can't remember a single loss against 4 gate (on all 3 civs too, but mostly I played zerg), so whatever protoss players coin flipped 4 gate against me just got a free loss cause I knew how to beat it (especially in pvp, pvp was a near 100% loss for me if the other protoss didn't 4 gate). I can tell you from experience on both sides that 4 gate in zvp was an automatic loss for protoss if the zerg had a clue what they were doing, and yet it was probably the easiest strategy to get to masters for the first year of sc2. That's what I think white tower rush is, except aoe4 players are imo far more strategic than early sc2 players and its far more common for them to watch guides. So if white tower rush starts becoming common, players will learn how to beat it. It wouldn't take a year until the coin flips stop working out in the English's favor (like it seemed to with 4 gate in sc2), it would probably be more like a month. After that, when the English players start losing the coin toss enough times, they'll stop flipping the coin and white tower rush would return to being a strategy that like 1 guy uses and everyone else laughs at. In other words, it is not a strategy with inherent strength, it is a strategy that relies on surprise factor. It will fall apart if it ever becomes common enough to no longer surprise people.

If English goes 2TC you have wasted your opening and resources on useless horsemen.

If anything this disincentivises people from trying this strat, because It is easy to counter. First scout, if you see fast castle(all vills on food/gold) make 10-15 units. When they place they're landmark kill the villagers before they build the landmark. If they somehow survive you HARD out eco them.

It's easy to counter just use scouts, if he has a lot of vills in gold he is fast castling, you can already assume that he may be white tower-rushing you, your scouts can also see him if he begins to move a lot of vills out of his base.

I spinn a little, I admit ❤ meaning no harm to any level. Love pro's like Serral, QT, Demu, uThermal and any player I dont know the name of. So you are playing a war game, build no warring units, think no one will no harm!? You should play Sim City or Railroad Tycoon (awesome old game) - get some guerillas out, and second thought you should have then. My dudes must make harm, in some way. They have to pay off. Harras or defend or burn something. I'm old, I played C&C, Red Alert games like that. But the gist of Warring games hasnt changed. Be evil, thrive - my young dudes

Build an army? Literally any 8 t1 units till kill all of them.... or build a outpost ig. But Even as a new player I realize I can just send my villages to kill his villagers and I usually make like 5 longbowman after hitting age 2. Idk how this person thinks it's op

When it comes to rushes ,it pretty much comes down to did we scout it ,did we know what the opponent is up to ,what can we do to counter with minimum impact on ourselves. So obviously,if they are doing blind FC(likely tge case for the jap player as demonstrated here),2tc they are going to get screwed easy by this rush
