You should not use the comparison of Africans who denies their Africans with Anglos denying their whiteness as Africans are systematically targeted negatively for their ethnicity whereas anglos are not! It’s a chosen convenience for them. Anglos do not suffer the same treatment!
She said she was black. That can be seen from two perspectives. Some people refer it to race and others racially along with the culture in America. I say black and African are all synonymous, so I don't see people who aren't also racially black as African. I see them as wherever they're indigenous to. For example if you're Indian living in Kenya, you're Indian Kenyan because you just so happen to live or be born in Kenya. But, you're not indigenous.
