I said "Yes" to Jesus as Lord and Savior my Senior year in high school(92-93). As one who was immersed in bands like Motley, Ratt, Guns 'n Roses,. I have to say that White Cross had a big influence on me in my early days. I am very thankful for these guys.

This band is hands down one of the best Christian rock bands of all time! While not as commercially "polished" as Stryper, the lyrics are deeper, the guitar parts are heavier, and the overall sound is much more raw and energetic then anything Stryper has ever produced. Wish this band would release another album, the Christian market could use a good shot of "rock" in its veins!

Whitecross is pretty raw, but the lyrics just don't come any near to Stryper. Michael Sweet is a better vocalist both live and studio, the guy from Whitecross (this was such a long time ago that I hardly remember their names) can barely sing live. One such example of great heavy metal lyric writing is the song God from Stryper, it's perfectly fitting with the rest of the songs that were covered on the The Covering album. Just my opinion.

+Isaac Campos Barren Cross owns both....Mike Lee sounds just as good now or better than 20 years ago. And he even sounds better live than Dickenson or Geoff Tate nowdays.

If we are talking about lyrics, then yes Whitecross's are better. No doubt Michael Sweet is a better vocalist than Scott Wenzel.

I was at their concert in Brazil last Friday....Scott and Rex as well as Benny and Michael, brought the house down. I got to meet them afterwards, those guys are the coolest, humble men ever and so freakin talented!

I heard this song yesterday for the first time ever. It's very bad ass!!! The guitar rhythm remind me of the metal band Loudness song, "Crazy Nights" Very Cool! The lyrics rock!

Don't forget about the Rez Band with Glenn Kaiser out of Chicago. Both of these bands rocked back in the 80's. Great lyrics and guitar leads!

Listened to this album way back in the late 80s. Really encouraged me to have music that expressed both energy and serious faith in Christ. If anyone listened to Christian music in the 80s they understand what I mean.

Saw them 3 or 4 times.Worked security for Atl. Fest from 88-94.Saw a lot of bands.Met a few people here and there.Phil Keaggy for one.The band Novella also, check out.X-Sinner,Mastedon,Ken Tamplin,Lanny Cordolla.Magdallan,SHOUT.All excellent bands etc.

Excellent metL! Thanks for the upload! All my cassettes and cds were stolen way back. Scott and Rex were a special duo, who touched many lives for Christ. Saw them live several times in the KC area. Every time they rocked the house!

Bold lyrics that still speak to the heart, and Rex Carroll is as good as any famous Rock guitarist. I recall a teen boy who early in his Senior year of high school made the most important decision you can make by saying "Yes" to the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Though the kid thought he understood it all, truth is he only understood that For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. When sharing his faith the boy was ALL zeal and NO tact. LOL. But make no mistake about it, that kid would've faced the guillotine for Christ, and the kid would've been preaching the cross as the blade dropped on his neck. I miss that boy. He came to visit me this morning, albeit in my memories.

Raised as a christian, always liked Rock and some subgender of it, always loved the sound,but hated when the singers started to sing crazy lyrics,got missefl listening a ton of intrumental metal only, and now I can enjoy both melody and lyrics.

Back in the 90's or so, Whitecross had a video which included a cave and water and some of them standing up in a boat. It was a great song but of course I don't recall the name of it and in all my searching online have come up empty. Anyone recall this video? Thank you.
