Aaron Shirley and Tony Bolger head out on the ice for Lake Simcoe whitefish. The guys get into a bunch of fish and have fun jigging them up on sonar. They also get fish on tip-ups and explain what they are doing in detail.
This is easily the best Whitefish video I have ever watched. Last year was my first year going for Whites through the ice and I never caught one. I was doing all the basics but you showed me how to make some adjustments in my presentation. I was also surprised at how large the minnows were.
Thank you for the kind words. I do fish Kempenfelt Bay for lakers as well as outside of Kempenfelt Bay for both lakers and whities. It's a great fishery!
This is an older video ,and now more sportsman are releasing there fish because of overfishing in winter months. Taking a picture and releasing them is the RU-vid way. Help conserve Lake Simcoe and its beautiful fish.
Hello, you can purchase the new Rapala ice fishing rods and reels at many retailers in Canada, like Sail, LeBarons and smaller tackle stores that have them in stock. They are not sold outside of Canada. Good ice fishing!
awesome show Aaron, do you ever fish Kempenfelt for Lakers or do you just go out near Innisfil for whities? i am planning on making a few trips up there this winter if I can find the time.
This video was shot in February of 2011. There is open water on Lake Simcoe currently! What an unusually warm winter. Sorry to give you the bad news, but unless things get real cold soon, there will not be much ice fishing in the main lake on Simcoe this winter.
