Funny this comes up on my tube home page. I actually installed both front and rear Whiteline sway bar kit on my spyder today. Haven't driven it in anger yet, but a short cruise to the service station and back this evening the car definitely was more stable. Still on oem springs and shocks, which I believe the sway bars will compliment well. I also put my buddyclubs with 225/245 nankang ar1's on ready for a good "spirited" run tomorrow.
@@DadDiaries definitely an improvement! Turn in sharper, no body roll. I am still on stock struts, so a decent bump I still get a small amount of scrub with the tyres I am running. Will be doing a gymkhana/sprint with it Easter weekend, so will get some footage and put on my channel. 🙂
@@DadDiaries first time I did it like that was when I installed the coil overs, and actually put the same drop links back on with no issues. Swapped out for new ones now though as I'm going round slowly replacing old for new on all suspension components anyway
Great job Mark! Amazing how crusty the old bar was! Good luck with the MOT! As for stickers .... Not really my thing but it's your car so your choice 👍☺️
Thanks Niamh, yeah it was mentioned at the last MOT so knew I'd better get it done...only been in the shed for nearly a year!!! Yeah when I say stickers I mean like full vinyl decal type thing but I'll probs leave stock :)
I have never had much luck with the Allan key on those. Your idea about the dab of grease should definitely help though. Boy, slim shady there told you right what to do lol
Anything other than a decent bolt to grab hold of when it's going to corrode is a pain if you ask me. Yes he reminded me of my obligations to the car 😂 he's a good chap 👍
That was great 👍 really useful, I started out just planning on changing out my manifold and exhaust, ended up taking all the crusty suspension arms off too, currently having a running battle with removing the drop links, after seeing this its now grinder time, great idea with greasing the hex socket every service. Have you done a vid of removing the rear hubs as they are in need of restoration but no idea how to tackle it. Thanks for the video really helpful
Great video as always! Just a quick question about Front wishbones: I have the rearward bolt loosened but can't get it out, is there a nut on top of it somewhere, please? I have looked inside front of car but cannot find access to nut if there is one. I am getting new wishbones.
Slightly off topic but I remember that n one your your videos that you replaced he MR2 fog lights , which video is as mine are falling apart and MOT to me next week,,, thanks
Hey Vaughan, there is some discussion in one of the body kit videos about the from fogs, also if you have a look at my Instagram there is a pic that shows how they are held in. You have to take the front bumper off to replace them. One the bumper is off they are super easy to swap! Hit me up on Instagram if you need anything else 👍
Well I'm still testing so I'll keep you posted. I need to have a geometry alignment but it looks cool and feels very planted. Plus extra grip at the front!
Not an amazing amount daily driving, I haven't had the opportunity to push it yet but it's on a fairly soft setting until I fit the front and get the geometry set up.
So, facelift models have more grip on the front and the rear has a slower frequency response, and if you compare with the before facelift changes in the parts/setup are tiny. be aware of the increase in frequency response you are going to get from the sway bar, I mean, watch out!
@@DadDiaries Thanks for the info. I got the pair of Whiteline ARBs on sale recently, how are you finding them? I'm considering putting the rear one setting stiffer than full soft to attempt to tune out some of the reported understeer these cars may have. I doubt I'll feel it on the road as I don't think it's possible to feel that understeer at legal road speeds, at least I've never noticed it. Understeer can also but a result of weight transfer entering a corner or simply going to fast...hmm hopefully I'll get the car on track sometime in 21. Thx
Didn't mean to sound cheeky mate the car looks flippin awesome the way it is now just got my alloys powder coated black with red calipers and I'm getting the hard top painted black like yours 😎👍
@@therealslimshady4555 haha no worries buddy, made me laugh. When I say stickers I'm thinking a whole livery type thing but my son is the same as you.... Leave it as is! Thanks for you comments on my 2 though.... appreciated 👍
