I just bought one of these to find my wife's lost wedding ring. I got it used so I did not get the instructions so I want to thank you for showing me how to use it.
FREE ADVICE: if you are going to be working an area repeatedly, set the thing to find ALL metal. you will find a lot of junk, but then the next time you go back there, the junk will be gone, and if you find something, you'll know it's good stuff. time and weather shift dirt - and the things it contains - around. after a good rain, the ground conducts better and it's easier to find things. you can use a studfinder for an electric pinpointer (set it to deep metal mode). FILL YOUR HOLES.
I bought the Whites CoinMaster last weekend and so far I'm liking it! It found two nice relics deep down in my yard. It's doing a nice job and I am going to do some more hunting with it soon!
Garrett bought White's. I noticed they are offering one of the Gold Detectors under the Garrett name, yet the Detector face still shows the name, White's. Perhaps they will do the same with some other models...
I do believe the battery emphasis is for the people they created the RTFM teeshirts for. they actually get a surprising number of doofuses that call to complain or bring their machine in for repairs because it's broken, only to find they put the batteries in wrong. it happens A LOT. this vid is also on their website for people that are considering buying a detector.
I bought one and I'm very happy, it's perfect for the beginners, I found some stuff of deutsch soldiers on the beach (France) and many coin from napoleon, good product 👍
as far as finding "only a penny", a machine will only find what you tell it to find. if you look, you will see that jewelry and junk fall under the same settings - that is not just this detector, it is all consumer-grade metal detectors. if you tell it to ignore junk, it will ignore jewelry too. and just because a coin is a penny does not mean it is worth a penny. there are pennies worth thousands of dollars out there; it works kind of like baseball cards.
Yes, it will find gold. I actually found 3 gold rings in 1 year with the CoinMaster. Check out some of my videos, I've got a lot of videos of my hunts with the CoinMaster.
This one is going to be my upgrade! I thought about the Garrett 350, but more $ The White"s coinmaster pro metal detector does the same thing for less money why not get his?
Does it go crazy on wet or dry sand? It shouldn't be a problem on dry sand. If you want to search on wet sand, you'll need a metal detector that is designed for it; such as a Pulse Induction (PI) type. Just To name a few: Whites TDI Beach Hunter Extreme, Garrett AT Pro or even a Fisher CZ-21; which is a multi frequency VLF go anywhere machine.
well that may be your opinion. But im still sticking with mine. it just wasnt as good as my older model. i went over the same hole twice and my older one would pick it up and this model didnt even signal. I changed all of the settings to match my older one and it still wasnt as good as mine. Sorry but this is just the way i feel about it.
For the record I bought the whites coinmaster pro it's good but I am still hunching over I pulled out the shaft extension to its max it's still 5 inches short I have to modify it now I have a high upper body and my back is sore fro hunching over . You got a great product but you need to make your shafts longer not everyone is under 6 feet . I am dissapointed I had to stop detecting it got so bad . Hunched over is not even good for your back so yea that really kinda depressed me . But the machine is still good overall but I am not sure what I am going to do now .
As beginner I bought Bounty Hunter Tracker IV about 3 years ago. It was surprisingly good machine, i found some militaria with it. Now i want to buy new digital detector, so do you think I should buy this Whites Coinmaster or Teknetics Alpha 2000 ? Some people say Teknetics is better but i have seen here some french reviews and in both it gives false signals.
the pro version got "notch" and "Tone iD" the other not.....with the notch you could save what you like to discriminat....so you only find what you want to find, like Coins and no iron!!
im just going to state my opinion, this detector to me is not even worth the money you pay for it. i had this detector one day before returning it. i compared it to my older model and the coinmaster barely even picked up on coin signals. i took this coinmaster to a park nearby and i searched the whole park. i found 3 pennies. the next day i took my older model , just because something didnt seem right, i found over 3 dollars in change and a cheap ring. overall only get if you are a beginner.
