Their older music is much better than anything they did in the late 80s and early 90s. First album I bought was slide it in and it’s still on my playlist 40yrs later
As mentioned below, the drummer people are probably referring to is Tommy Aldridge who I think had health issues during this tour which is why Brian Tichy is playing. If you want to see how much of a beast Tommy Aldridge is, watch "Cryin in the Rain" from their London Concert from 2006 (I think). It includes the drum solo and I believe Tommy was 55 or 56 at the time.
It is Brian Tiche on drums. Tommy Aldridge was the one who 'set the tone' for this song and others on the 87 album and future albums. He's just incredible on the drums!
Yes, they rereleased Fool For Your Loving on the Slip of the Tongue album in 1990 but it was originally recorded on the Ready An' Willing album from the early 80s and had a more bluesy sound to it. Less rock. Still sounds great but just a different version.

I love Whitesnake but poor Dave is hitting 70 this year. But he's a Rock n Roll hall of famer with his little old band called, " Deep Purple. Check out anything from the Whitesnake "Live in the still of the night" dvd...And the drummer is the legendary heavy pounding Tommy Aldridge and I recommend the songs from this DVD: Burn, Bad Boys, Still of the Night and his drum solo.. all epic

I saw Whitesnake live at the Summer Stage at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J.. This video doesn't even do that drummer justice. He is an absolute machine. If thunder had a cousin, it would be him.
You need to dig WAY deeper into the WS catalog.. that iteration pales in comparison to the 1987 lineup.. Dave's voice is a shadow of what it used to be (sadly), and this song is waaaay down-tuned to accommodate
Way down tuned . Its E flat . Or D at most depending the song . His screams still around G5 and A5 most of the time . Try it the way he does it , you 'll realize that still pretty high . Its in 5th octave. Sometimes C 6 with extra compression I don't know if you realised he s a deep baritone , but if at sixty something he needs a bit to rest in his current confort zone with a lower tuning , there s nothing scandalous here , its normal Still songs like Slow & easy verse even half step lower are still Tough to belt out . You guys don't know of what you re talking . Also David Coverdale was in Deep Purple in 1973 -1976, did 2 solos records in 1977/1978 , Whitesnake started in 1978 and made like 8 records before 1987 . But some so called whitesnake fans, american mostly continue to choose to ignore that fact and David wasnt a 20 something old guy popping suddenly in 1987 .

saw whitesnake at donnington in 81 AC/DC headlined but did not come on stage til 11 after they had to follow AC/DC were still amazing but so were Whitesnake
This song was released twice by the band. This version is essentially the '87 version from their self-titled release. The "original" version was released years earlier back when the band had Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden as the guitar players. It was a bluesier, grittier and had a dirtier edge to it. Check out that older version and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Try doing a little bit of research on the stuff you play.. the drummer is Brian Tichy who's standing in for the legend that is Tommy Aldridge, and the vocalist is David Coverdale, it only takes a few minutes people
