Agree 100%. He's done. Cooked. That amazing voice is long gone now. But who cares? He's still at least in the ball-park.... and trying. And he's.... well..... he's.... David. Freaking. Coverdale! 💥
Until he fired Sykes. Vai killed WS and so did Coverdale's insistence of writing about Tawny Kittaen. This is just sad. Vai's solo is tasteless. If you don't know, Sykes basically made the entirety of the 87 album while Coverdale was off in LA .
Dude, I love Whitesnake as much as anyone, or at least, USED to. There's a lot to be said for retiring with dignity, and not embarrassing yourself and letting down your fans. Unlike what David Coverdale has chosen to do. The last decent album was Slip of the Tongue, and that was just barely "acceptable" compared to the self-titled record in 1987. Stop living in 1988, take off your rose colored glasses and sell your IROC Camaro lol
SOOOO cool to see Vai and David sharing a stage , at THIS stage of life. For all the critics...so what if Coverdale can't hit the notes the same? He's given us DECADES and to see him out there doing it with passion, love and fun and not just calling in a performance. While I of course miss the classic players of WS, the new line up is top notch . Nothing but love and respect for Coverdale, Vai and WS
To make a comment about a singer's voice at this age after what was already said DECADES of amazing music and vocs is like making fun of an old guy because he's 75 and doesn't play softball or run a marathon like he did when he was 27. Jeez....
To be able to still perform at 70 is cool, respect this man , if you listened to his music his range was amazing. we are lucky to still have him around to see him perform. Rock on David !
Seriously, when you take into consideration the fact that the frontman is over 70 years old and has played thousands of concerts… He fucking kicks all sorts of ass. We love you, Sir Coverdale and thank you for everything! ❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️
Don’t care what any of you say or comment here. We are talking about legends and they have already proved themselves 1000-times over! There are very few musicians of any age that can compare or compete….period! I thank my generation of musicians for killing it for all these years!! Was blessed to have had the greatest music ever and I am still listening!!
For some reason, David's voice being shot actually works for me - the extra rasp and roughness actually makes it more raw and heavier, imo. I don't mind this at all.
Living legend. What a band. You can hear the powerful voice of Federico Luppi hitting the high notes. Saw them a few years ago and love the show. Long live Whitesnake
The fact that they are doing what they love at that age with the same passion in their hearts is what makes Rock & Roll GREAT!!!!. All the gratitude & respect 🫡.
Whitesnake are going on 45 years as a band and people STILL pay good money to see and hear them perform. Quite a testament to the quality of the work - and David has been the driving force behind it. Loved his work with Deep Purple before that and only got to see him perform live once (opening for Jethro Tull in LA circa 1980). Good for him for still drawing a crowd - he certainly deserves that recognition even if time has taken a toll on his voice. Thanks for posting this great clip!
I put him down as one of the best singers ever, seen him so many times. His vocals on this are at times painful to hear but you know he is 70 and this is party time and this is his last lap. Don’t be snobs and pick faults with him.
David Coverdale has made some of the best Rock Music ever. Class act. Steve Vai and Joel Hokstra an excellent combo. This is Rock Music at it's best.. I don't care if they got old. We all are headed that way. Much Respect.
david fucking Coverdale and Steve fucking Vai man ❤️🎸🍷🇷🇸🇷🇸❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ they did so much im their Life lived rock n roll 100000000,%% thank you so much Guys !!! Cheers ❤️🍷
People saying this is bad, for how old David is, this is fucking great. He's definitely not at his peak, but this is far from bad. I'll be so glad if at his age I'm 10% of the guy he is now.
@@metatron333ascension come on guys this is not how you say farewell , should have done that earlier with a bang. the background vocals are doin a good job though.
I saw that tour in ‘91. It was probably the End of Glam Rock. Marked an era. This is awesome to see Vai back onstage and with Daves band kickin a$$! Dino, Tanya, Tommy and Joel all top notch. Warms my heart. Thank you🙏🏻
The great thing about Vai is that he's always operated at 500% compared to other guitarists, so when he's older and slows down, he's still at 200% capacity in relation to most guitarists. What a legend. ❤🎸
@@geraldhartley don't take things so literally, it was mostly a turn of phrase. If you're on the spectrum, my apologies. Don't worry too much about it :)
Enjoy it while we can , DC is a legend and we will NEVER have legends like this again . Thank You DC and all the members of Whitesnake for years of great music ! Peace, Love, & Godspeed!
Very classy, by all involved. Loved seeing them together, even though we all know Vai surely didn't have to. I don't expect bands to always perform as well as they did in their hey-day. I do expect them to stay classy and respect the fans and have a good time. Well done WS and Vai!
I think he sounds pretty good. Can he hit all the notes he hit back in the day? No, but most people his age can't even get on a stage anymore. Respect.
David Coverdale, what a legend. Yes, he’s aged but it’s like a fine wine. For being 70 he’s still working for that raw rock sound. It’s their farewell and what a farewell.
I think we can forgive him for singing out of tune like at 1:52 or for needing the help of other singers, this Is the farewell tour... David was one of the greatest rock vocalist ever.
Steve vai o melhor guitarrista do mundo de todos os tempos não existe até hoje alguém tão impressionante quanto ele, o mais incrível de todos de todos os tempo!
@@jaymea8907 you sound like me, usually the last I want to see is the front man. I want to see them play those instruments lol Omg I love love love Randy!!! I sure am with you on wishing there was more footage on him!
Thank you for uploading, shots very close to DC, I can see his all expressions. How emotional Vai plays for DC, for his farewell tour stage. Thanks again🙏🥹
there are really nobody else like these guys who defined and embodied the genre of music we all love. voices change over time, but they are really deliver a fabulous show 😊
If sucks getting Older. He was one of Rocks greatest vocalist. Much like the prize fighter who doesn’t have it anymore. You wanna root for them. But Deep Down you know they need to hang it up.
David Coverdale is from our generation, and i still play his music often because Whitesnake rocks!!! I think he looks great, though at times reminded me a bit of Robert Plant and Joe Elliott. And little Stevie Vai. Frick'n AWESOME! The two of them together, just loved his arm draped across Steve!❤❤🎉😅😊
Coverdale, Sykes, Vai, Hoekstra, Aldridge, Vandenberg, Sarzo, Mendoza, Campbell, Beach, ALL are Whitesnake legends! I take my hat of to them. Blueprint of my youth also.. i’m 54. Keep Rockin’!! I’ll sleep when i’m dead.
AND YOU THINK THAT SYKES - THE GUITARIST, THE MAIN SONGS ARRANGER OF THE VERY SUCCESSFUL WHITESNAKE 1987 ALBUM - IS NOTHING❓️❓️ NOT TO MENTION HE HAS A VERY SUCCESFUL SOLO CARREER AS A GUITARIST AND SINGER❗️ YOU DID NOT MENTION HIS NAME ⁉️⁉️ And do you even know giants like Aldridge, Dunbar the very influential Whitesnake drummers⁉️
@@almay9194 Marsden and Moody were first. With Lord and Paice on keys and drums. Whitesnake was making great music long before 1987. Sykes was great, but he was there only briefly. Reb Beach has been the longest standing member next to Coverdale, and has contributed more to Whitesnake than Sykes ever did. He's only on two albums. Both are great records, but there's a lot more to dig into in the Blanc Serpens catalogue.
Agreed on that 100%. I'm not a Steve Vai fan, to be honest. It's just a style thing. But I honestly think he is one of the good guys in rock. And obviously... he is a guitar stud. It's just a style preference for me. But yeah - super cool that he still gets along with everyone.
@@jimmyz2098 We need more people with attitudes like yours. People who might not be into whatever or whoever but still do their best to appreciate what makes those people or things special to others. You rock. ...gotta be something about people with 'Z' in their names. We go to 11. :)
From CUBA. Whitesnake one of the 10 Best Hard Rock Bands Ever. DAVID COVERDALE one of the best Great F Compouser, he's lyrics, Blues or Hard Rock the best ones. As a Hard Rock and Blues singer, respect and the one that I prefer, he has a unique way of sing, a particular technique since the beginning, is a wild singer and as a Front Man The # 1. Sorry Robert Plant, David is Te Guy.
For all those saying how they love Dave Coverdale and how he sounds ok for 85 years old or however old he is etc...I'm sorry, but no. I grew up and love all these 80s bands that seem to be still chugging along. But seeing many of these videos of recent performance is is just sad. It's like seeing your favorite fighters fighting way beyond their prime. They should've retired years ago, but they keep going out there and you see your heroes continue to get their asses kicked. It reminds me of the last time I saw my grandfather. He was sick and very frail. He knew it was likely the last time we would see each other. He told me "Don't remember me this way. Remember the times we spent golfing together (before he got sick and became a shell of his former self)." I can't watch any more of these "comeback" tour videos. I'd rather remember these bands the way they were when I saw them live in concert in their prime.
Man is rock legend.. After all these years, no wonder that voice is shot to pieces... But he still gives it a fkin good go. He's had his issues with nodules, but you got to take your hat off to the guy. he's still rockin'...
I would love to have seen Tina Turner perform this song and if she had performed it with David, we can only imagine how they would have lit 🔥 up the night. ❤️
@@forgotmyname4971 Wow. That’s another great song. Yes, Tina would have blown us all away with that one, too. I love both David and Tina’s voices. They convey so much emotion. Thanks for the info.
Hay algo que me encanta de esta banda y es su cantante David Coverdale a su edad canta como si tuviera 20 años y claro, su voz no es la misma pero su alma resuena en cada nota lo deja todo en el escenario
the one time i’d not want to see vai. doing his thing when i’d have been waiting the entire song to hear that solo. love steve, love dave. what a record.
But is that Tommy? I'm still watching, and they haven't shown the drummer yet. But last I heard... he was not on the tour. Had to be hospitalized or something. The 80s bands we love are still doing it. But it's like a traveling medical ward these days. LOL Hard lifestyles.
