the sound of the violin that john sykes makes with his guitar is incredible 🎸 in the original video they hire musicians for the filming john sykes does not appear he composed the theme
That is stunning; this is my favourite guitar riff of all time. So beautifully performed. I had the privilege of seeing John Sykes fronting Thin Lizzy a few years ago in Birmingham UK; when the opening chords of Cold Sweat erupted I nearly lost my mind. Just my opinion, but I think he's a massively underrated guitarist; that so heavy and completely wild sound ; amazing. Thunder and Lightning didn't do any harm either. Superb playing by you. I saw Whitesnake as a kid in 1988, when Sykes had played on the 1987 album but subsequently got sacked before touring. It was a fantastic show, but you could hear Sykses' absence. Just those massive fat, chunky powerchords and squealing solos... wow.
Thanks for your comment!😆 I am very jealous that I have never seen John perform live. When I saw the Whitesnake's concert, the guitarists had already changed to Vivian Campbell and Adrian Vandenberg.😂
@@otospalab9461 You should be jealous! The Whitesnake show I saw was dazzling, but like you I saw the Campbell/Vandenberg line-up. David Coverdale was utterly captivating. Not to denigrate those fantastic guitarists in any way. But seeing John Sykes fronting Thin Lizzy was a whole different experience. That incredible guitar sound, and on top of that it turns out he's an amazing vocalist too. Absolutely extraordinary. I don't know what he's up to these days, but if he's coming to a town near you any time soon I would strongly recommend getting a ticket. Anyway, you did a great job of Still of the Night, but I hate you for making it look so easy 🤨
Oh, Please don't hate me!😂 It's not easy for me to play this song but I spent so much time practicing.😅 Of course, Vivian Campbell and Adrian Vandenberg are my very favorite guitarists. But I would have liked to see David Coverdale and John Sykes play the songs on the album "Whitesnake" .
@@otospalab9461 Just kidding, obviously. It's a pleasure listening to and watching you play. I know that as an open-minded musician you don't want to just get caught up on Whitesnake alone, but have you ever thought of making a recording of Crying in the Rain? That is one tortured soul of a guitar riff. No pressure!
You just have to resemble the sound. I don't think it will be a real copy unless you practice from picking. John's picking that I saw in person was really strong!
smallest bit of advice on an otherwise perfect cover with great tone! it sounds like you're hitting a full E major chord during the main riff, you want to be muting the G string there (x-2-2-x-0-0)
Funny, I was thinking the same thing before I scrolled down. E natural is right but E major isn't. It pokes out at you and doesn't gel with the previous or next chord. Well spotted us!
Hello there, Doug Sykes. When is your audition of WS. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Standing ovation. Come more ad-libs. Did you up already, Standing In The Shadow Of Love Fool For Your Loving?
very good video - thank so much. :D I have Line6 POD ! Please tell me the Whole setup : amp type, and gain, bass, middle, high, etc, etc ... - PLEEEASE ! ! !
Thanks for your comment! I think that the setting items are different between pod and pod go. Of course the sound is also different. Anyway, I think you should choose a marshall JCM800 type amp. Set up 'bass' and 'treble' to full, 'gain' and 'middle' to 70%, How about adjusting that settings?
You are so amazing; this is the best rendition of a classic I've ever seen! Keep up the good work! I also play the guitar, but my favorite guitarist is Akira Yamaoka. I did two Akira songs a while ago. PROMISE, and Laura's theme. I hope you can enjoy them! あなたがそれらを楽しむことができることを願っています! ru-vid.com/group/PLFLMDsJvacYKVQqvl1gRRUlIN2nH3vhvZ
@@otospalab9461 Thanks a lot. I also subscribed to your channel because your guitar skills are amazing, and you do a great job emulating the tone and sound of those great guitar players. I miss Japan. I was there 20 years ago when I used to be in the military, and it is such a beautiful country with a great culture and beautiful landscapes. Now I’m in South Korea working as a contractor, and in my off time, I do drone videos and play my guitar. One of these days, I’m planning to go back to Japan on vacation with my wife, and I will surely contact you to see if we can meet in person, and probably, Jam with our guitars. Keep on Rocking Brother; “You are Doing Pretty Awesome Good!” 👍🏻
