Beautiful horse , I just never understood why they train them to hold their head down ? It always looks wrong when I see it , horses hold their heads up high naturally , and this just seems like a strange position . I know Stallions drop their heads to herd their bands of mares and foals but they don't carry their heads like that naturally , only when they lay down the law. .
Actually it helps them round their backs. If a horse holds their head high, their back hallows out and they can get sore. By rounding their backs they are able to collect up and use their whole body. It's better in the long run for the longevity of the horse This headset also is pretty natural for the breed. This stallion is 100% bred for his discipline and most reiners naturally have a lower headset
