@@kagisomabele4936 this man had noting positive to say about Kobe when he was alive but wanna heap praise when he is no longer here I'm sorry but I'm more of a give people they flowers while they can still smell it type of guy
Whitlock has this moment, but I will always remember when he said Kobe was the fakest superstar ever when he dropped 60 on the Jazz his last game in the NBA. That's pretty unforgivable.
I agree with you Carlo. It's hard to forgive these media people now that Kobe is gone and they want to change their tune...so tell me who is really fake....
@@kingcc2 he repeatedly said he said bad things about Kobe. He never diverted from that in this interview. He more so talked about Kobe's career after basketball. His criticism was about Kobe on the court.
Maybe Jason really means what he is saying here. That said, he still spent 15 years criticizing Kobe for nonsense. He spent all that time hating. F that guy.
Than you, Jim Jackson. You've always had Kobe's back, pushing back against the Nick Wright's of the media ... let them celebrate the basketball stuff, we black folks should be honoring his life ... a template for little black boys and girls
Been watching anything on Kobe for two days but this segment is the realest most heartfelt discussion I’ve seen.. more about the genius of Kobe than his athletic gifts. He was so special and truly saw in others what they may have never seen themselves. He was so much a better person than just a basketball player. He really cared about people.
@@zicomoney3696 I mean he literally said that he admires what he's doing for his daughter, how much of a great father he is for doing that, and what he is doing for the game of women's basketball and because of that Whitlock was starting to take back his bashing of Kobe. I even saw the segment live, and that was a few days before Kobe died.
Its crazy the effect he had on ppl man. Had 4 grown men up there crying. I was crying yesterday. Didnt even realize i cared that much. When you grow up watching somebody its just different
Mad respect for FS1 and FTF for the 3-hour tribute for the man who put me on to basketball. But this segment was the epitome. The raw emotion was exactly what I had bottled up from the past 36 hours. Amazing tribute to someone who was going to change the world
Jason, I felt that man. That was heartfelt and sincere. The same people that criticize you can learn a LOT from you, just by your thoughts displayed here.
hes xompletely fake . he took every opportunity to bash him , even when he scored 60 his last game whitlock spent the entire radio segment railing on him as a player and person
@@Opinlinz He criticized him as a person on a deeply personal level. Just watch him guest hosting the colin cowherd show after kobe's 60 point game finale.
@@epicguru128 So I'm guessing you've never said anything hurtful to anyone in your life? Again Whitlock said he was a critique of Kobe but his death made him reevaluate how he viewed him. A man's life isn't based on 1 or 2 bad things. Its based on his lifetime of work.
@@Opinlinz bro you're downplaying his criticism of kobe. He called him a narcissist, selfish, fraudulent for three hours the day after he played his last game. It was deeply upsetting to hear as a Kobe fan; he dedicated a three hour segment slandering his name on a day that was supposed to celebrate him. I can't overlook that but I hear your point.
@@Terror832 Yes...Pac, Mike, and now Kobe. 3 biggest celebrity losses for me, and in that order. Grew up with all 3 my entire childhood, teens, and adulthood.
I hope everyone take this time for reflection to meditate and learn to be a better human being.I hope everyone leaves their bad feelings behind their own emotions we have to deal every day. Kobe was a perfect model and an big example of a great athlete and a great father, what an humble man he was so friendly and lovely to everyone. I wish, all the black athletes could be like him, so polite and respectful. I understand and feel your emotions Jason whitlock, people should know, criticize people doesnt mean you hate them.me also ,i have never been a fan of kobe Bryant and shaq,i was a fan of magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul jabbar, but i always appreciated kobe as the way he approached people.he is so affectionate to his family, his kids ,wow, like you aaid withlock ,it hurts to see kobe Bryant gave his heart for 20 years to make the fans, franchise ,teammates everyone else happy for sad moments and now leaving his great history .i never met kobe Bryant personally, but i am 100 percent sure and believe we need more people like him in the world. There would be less hate, less cruelty, there would be more love, more affection, more compassion for everyone.we love you kobe Bryant. Rip
Wow Jason gave me a whole different perspective on his character. His heart showed and his compassion expressed it.. much respect for the realness he display towards Kobe
Jason ain't a bad guy, he has different beliefs than alot of the black community and gets labeled an uncle Tom and it's sad.. diversity does not end at skin color.. We need all types of different beliefs to make this world turn and to become better people, we learn from eachother and if everybody thinks the same we learn nothing, we do not advance
@Kevin Smith idk man he seems genuine with his political views and his hatred of stupid groups like black lives matter and those types of things... He seems to me to be a person that believes in what Martin Luther King preached... TRUE EQUALITY, TRUE FAIRNESS... Not the fake BS we see today
GOD made Kobe to be BRILLIANT! He is just an example for us to KNOW that anyday is our day to die. I do not believe Kobe is in ANY way hurt right now. But this death is to prove life is to live and be GRATEFUL to the most HIGH- JESUS!I believe without a doubt! Everything for His way.One way or another...
Great segment, gentlemen. Especially you, TJ. That was huge for you to open up about how you view sharing emotion and how you’ve been teaching your son. Awesome of you to show some vulnerability and growth in this moment. I applaud you brotha!
Everyone Salute well said... This is hurting. L.A is so somber. I don't even want to do anything right now. Just sit by the pier at home in Santa Monica and write and cry. 💔💯📝 #KingKobe R.I.H
Whitlock you showed signs of life today. You let yourself feel and be vulnerable. You don’t have to be an AH to get attention. You get credit today Whitlock. RIP Mamba
@Darknight Yes I am exceptionally blessed and I'm also not a hater... I'm calling it like I see it! Your sarcasm only shows that your in agreement with whitlock so your very flawed
As parents we work a lot and we see and be around those we work with more than are own family. To see the Peace the patient of him in teaching his daughter but to trasnsend from that game he loved so we'll to a full time parent and still have a hand with molding not only his daughter life but so many others is what I'm talking about, his true , pure greatness. Luv you Kobe, Gigi and the Bryant Family . Peace
My God...to have lived a life, no matter how tragic and unfair the end, where so many people both known, and complete strangers shed tears for you... That is a beautiful life lived. Kobe, we love you, we’ll miss you and we know you and GiGi are beyond the veil playing pickup with angels. Job well done, sir. 🙏🏾
Despite Jason whitlock views , for some reason , I ain't never had nothing against him . As a black woman , I've always felt like , he's that black man , that you can go to and talk to , he's the one , that will be there when you need a real friend. The main one , that we as black women need to learn how to appreciate . On everything i love , it was always something that kept me from coming down on him like most do. Thx Jason ...
i disliked Whitlock so much for what i felt was a biased against Kobe, but hearing him being open-minded and finally recognizing how great Kobe has grown as a person made me happy.
Finally, all us basketball fans have been waiting for Whitlock, Nick Wright, Shannon Sharpe, Max Kellerman, colon Cowherd to be more honest about Kobe. So sad they waited til after he died
Paradigm Shift what they thought of him as a player does not relate to what they thought of him as a person. Only thinking of basketball is a disrespect to him as a man... think before you say something man
Kobe was a Class act a great role model for kids especially black kids Kobe was a all time great basketball player but him as family man and loving father was more impressive RIP Kobe ,Gigi and everybody else in this tragedy
Exactly, he showed parenting and being a father, a black man at that, since we get nothing but negative images from MSM. He showed it was cool to be a father and be there for your kids. The craziest thing, he has been doing it for years behind close door. Now people get to see what he is really about from those he let in his life.
I’m sorry to say, but I watched almost every media sports talk show and interviews. Nick wright is full of it. Guy would bash Kobe every chance he gets. Never felt any compassion from him for Kobe.
DiLLy DiLLy I hate Nick Wright for the lies on air everyday, but today, in honor of Mamba, i thank nick wright, Shannon sharpe, Colin Cowherd, Jason Whitlock for FINAAAAAAALY putting some respect on his names. It just brings me to tears they waited till he died.
Paradigm Shift I agree with you. Most of them were Actually coming to the side of Kobe after he retired. Only Nick wright would stay course on his view. Appreciate the ones that are with you now. Not when they are gone
Kobe was a black man with a brown wife. Overly concerned with the youth and reaching out to all those that needed his help. This man was on the verge of something Great. We needed him !
You guys brought it home. Everyone is feeling this one. Don’t feel bad shedding some tears and emotion. Even after Kobe’s passing, his legacy is touching us...thanks SFY.
Very touching segment. I respect Jason Whitlock. He keeps it real. It may seem like he be throwing shade at athletes but he just be speaking for himself and giving us the real. Very emotional time. R.I.P KOBE..

Nick X Nobody respects WhiteLock. He speaks for FOX. He ain't the least but real, he's just another FOX troll.
Ant Parker ummm do you hear his takes.?? Tbh if it was any other situation I’d break it down and help you understand why ppl have a problem with him but this ain’t bout that . I wanted to highlight that I personally appreciated what he said about Kobe and that is all you can take that negative energy to the comments of another video my good sir
I’m really finding it distasteful that people are disliking these videos. These are real emotions, I hope everyone grieves in their own way. Much love to all ❤️
This really is my favorite sports show, and I listen/watch a lot of them. These men have grown from this tragedy. TJ probably the most honestly he was always the man's man so to speak, but to see him understand it's okay to cry wow that's growth
RIP Kobe, i grew up watching you ball and i felt like he was a part of my younger years with certain moments.Basketball on TNT, tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays.😔
I love Jimmy Jackson. I was a fan of his as a player anyway, but there is just something about the way the man speaks which grabs my attention. I've noticed the same with Vince Carter. Even in tragic times like this, the intelligence and clarity that they speak with is such a gift.
Tough segment for sure, real men emotionally having a profound conversation. It looks like god may have just sent the world a message to get ourselves together as the next day, moment is not promised to ANY of us. Never in my lifetime have I felt like this and I’m 52 years old. This dwarfs the world wide feeling of Michael, Whitney, Prince and others death in my opinion because of the way it happened and with his daughter aboard. RIP KOBE, Gianna and the other 7 members of that flight. God, we hear you loud and clear message received!😥😔🙏🏽#ThankYouForYourSacrifice #WakeUpCallToTheWorld #WeHearYou
Kobe Bryant 's death I compare to a great movie that was cut off before we could see the ending. Not to see his daughter Gigi grow into a Wnba basketball player and not seeing him get to enjoy that experience of seeing her try to become a great player like him was like that. It's like right when the movie was starting to get really good, someone hit the light switch and ended that scene for good.
Kobe always did his debates with class... He never called people with different opinions bums or losers he expressed his beliefs and respected the others... That's why LeBron will never carry on his legacy... LeBron can't ever get in his shoes let alone walk in them
@@kingspeech2240 What do you mean? i'm supposed to take someone who took every opportunity to rip Kobe seriously? You can't call someone a selfish narcissist in one breath and then blurt all these phony lines when the man dies. That's weak and non believable.
@Ant Parker "crucial of your favorite athlete". I can't dignify poor sentence structure like that. You may be able to tolerate phony people, but I can't. To each his own I guess.
I'm gonna tell you right now...if more black men and I am one showed a little more emotion and knocked down the bs walls that were taught, we'd be better off. Much props to the gentlemen on the panel for showing that real emotion. I'm from the Jordan era and I've shed more tears than I'd like to admit. So thank you sirs!!!!!
Man over never hear Whitlock or Wiley speak so eloquently, I’m not an emotional guy , but hard not to shed tears internally , condolences to all families involved , Kobe touched a lot and his daughter and the others that left families behind , this still hurts . About to log off 💔
@Jack The Clipper The comment said we lost a model for Black people, right? My reply is a reference to what Kobe said when asked to comment the Treyvon Martin incident which did not sit well for the black experience in America. Whitlock said he had a talk with Kobe about that and his opinion about Kobe then changed. However, Whitlock did not elaborate on the conversation he had with Kobe. I wish he did which might have given me a better understanding of what Kobe really meant by that statement. You should listen to that statement given by Kobe a few years ago. I was not degrading the fact that he was an exceptional father. That was not the issue. By the way, I believe we can have a respectful conversation sir. I do not appreciate being told to gtfoh. Respectfully,
@@JonathanCamry does it matter? It seems like when people go this route, we start to play God, which we are not; but assuming we believe the Bible is the word of God, it explicitly teaches ' think of others as better than yourselves'. (Philippians 2:1-4). I only bring up the Bible because it seems we're dealing with the concept of human motive and well, something that no human being really knows at the end of the day About another person, only about themselves. But if we don't assume the Bible is correct, there still is the base moral principle of treating other people the way that you want people to treat you. Last time I checked nobody Prefers for someone to not believe them on the basis of what might be. Sometimes you just have to let the facts stand as they are when you recognize that you'll never know a motive
@@b.m.robertson5959 Yes honesty does matter. But I like your final words: Sometimes you just have to let the facts stand as they are. Well said brother, and on that I rest my case. Have a blessed day!
I've always been a fan of the Lakers . To have the relationship with his Gigi and how he learned to treat women . I know many people fill like me from an athlete to full time parent stole my heart for this young brother with his beautiful daughter ( his angel Gigi ) .
Once again, "What does it say about America when we as a people can't even give a "thumbs up," when a person is giving condolences to a deceased sport legend, and a child?" (smh)"
As a lifelong Kobe fan I honestly don’t care what Whitlock has to say. I’ve heard enough hate from him. I had time to see this video and just post this that’s all
@@BRIANBA100 all Jason Whitlock use to do was trash Kobe, then all of a sudden, he's hurting for him. Go look back at what Jason Whitlock said about Kobe.
I'm a Bulls fan and from Chicago where Jordan is God but I had such tremendous respect for Kobe. I grew up on Kobe, I was too young for MJ and only remember the last couple of years of MJ, but Kobe was my youth. It's still unbelievable that he's gone. Seems like a bad dream...just surreal. Legends never die 🏀🙏🏽♥️
Anybody who comes back to watch this video remember Jason is the same man the dedicated an entire segment to trashing Kobe. He called him a narcissist and self person. Jason didn't feel sad about Kobe's passing he just wanted to take advantage of the opportunity
not just to the black community, to eveyone who watched kobe feels like we lost someone close to us. we love kobe. we watch kobe. we all feel the same way. very dumb to say that, maybethe black community felt like that about nipsey. kobe was bigger than that
