No, she was trying to compensate for his lack of success. Bobby was insecure & very jealous of her success. Those were 2 emotions that he refused to own. After listening to his book, he still doesn't, to this very day.
She was a humble woman, that’s the key to success. Try to stay down to earth. Her success was unreal at this time, at its peak and she still stayed truly herself.
I love the one reporters question about whether or not she'd do an album outside of her "normal element". I truly she had done something wild like a rock album or even covered a few rock songs LIVE. Just imagine a young Whitney doing a live cover of The Beatles 'come together' She would've made one helluva rock singer with her prime 1985-1994 voice. It would've been awesome to hear her do an opera album or live performance in her prime as well. I feel her talent was far too majestic and otherworldly to be confined to pop/rnb and even gospel.
