Her voice may not have been at its peak here, but there's no denying that she still sounded great. She adjusted accordingly and sold the song as only she could. What a loss to the world. Her talent was otherworldly.
50 years of non stop singing drugs and depressions damaged that beautiful voice. She will alsways be a big Part of music history. And im glad that she sang the hell out of everything in my childhood. She will always be THE Voice to me.
@@aaronjott2108 Well she was like 46 here, she never reached 50, it was only a big problem since mid 90s and drugs didnt damage her voice, cigarettes messed up her lungs…..google is free genius
This was beautiful! Just showed how Whitney's voice never left. Maybe people will realize that this was around the same time as her tour and how sick she was at that time with a lung infection, bronchitis and heart issues..... love you nippy, your the best always and forever
A hard life that is singing. A shame that anybody puts themselves through it if they have medical problems especially heart issues. A far different Whitney that the the woman I saw on Top of the Pops in April 1987 singing I wanna dance with somebody. She was only 23 then and single before all that happened her afterwards. This life can bring you down and Whitney went there sadly. Easy to go down under the eye of the media and the public. God bless you you. I listened to your cassette tapes when I was lonely as a teenager many a night. You had a great voice.
No other vocalist around the Globe has yet to top that Heavenly voice God gave His child, Whitney. When she sings it feels like feathers all over and around you. Thank you, God for this Gift, as I’m sure many have been and still are blessed by it!
This is what we call a timeless singer. She knew how to give emotion by her songs. 😌😌😌😌 Even when all is going wrong, when I hear her, I feel directly so better.
2020 babies n fellas..we keep looking to the MOST HIGH,THE ALMIGHTY ONE,THE LIVING GOD ONE AND ONLY KING OF KINGS r.i.p whitney and all our peers gone before us,...love to all from🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿🇹🇿 Tanzania
It's so crazy how musically masterful she was. Even though she wasn't in her prime anymore, she managed to still sound good. She was insanely skilled at manuvering through her slightly broken voice.
This song has been on my hart since last night till now and I have played it more then 15 times this morning, what touching song ... I love you Whitney..kiss I really wished I had to opportunity to meet with you before before you gone
Whitney...what a Dignified, Amazing, Glorious, name, which you share with one of the GREATEST WOMEN, With one of the GREATEST VOICES THE WORLD WILL EVER KNOW. WHITNEY..MY LOVE😚
This woman was a tragic loss to the music industry….She was gold but some of us didn’t care. I personally blame the industry that caused this loss. She should have been more protected ( you know what I’m saying Bobby). She was a real person with real feelings, a mother , a wife, a performer. How can you fowl that up….I’m sorry🤦🏾♂️. Rest In Peace Whitney Houston….The world will never forget you..YOU HEARD ME💯🤲🏽
You’re a fucking idiot, Bobby had nothing to do with her drug use her brother started her smoking that mess. Get your facts straight before you make an ass of yourself.
She still sounded amazing. Her untouchable, one of a kind tone and stage presence were so amazing that they cancelled out the problems from her decreased range.
I totally agree Al'ykc. She was ONE OF A KIND. I know we all are originals, but her beautiful tone and stage presence was still there. She probably could have worked on rebuilding endurance and some range. I'm sure she has been through the trenches of physical/drug abuse. I felt for her and was rooting she would come back and rally. RIP. One day I hope to hear her sing with the angels.
That's one thing about Whitney that made her LEGEND unquestionable. She will only lip sync if it's impossible for her to hear the band or orchestra because of ambient noise or if she's promoting the studio version for the first time. Whitney Houston was, is, and always will be THE TRUTH.
Well truth be told the clear tone is dull and it is a little rough, but that's alright. I'm sure God restored the beauty of her voice when she left the earth.
A true Whitney fan can hear that her voice had definitely changed. But that doesn't take from the fact that she was one of the best. ❤️The GOAT in her field. 💯
@@AlexandreCharnier yeah her voice was far from her prime but she still had what makes her the Greatest of all time... tone. Her tone is rich, warm, and smooth like honey. Even with her diminished vocal ability her tone/resonance was and is absolutely unmatched.
Thomas Gottschalk said this was her comeback but I personally feel like this was her Goodbye to us. Just like Michaels "This is it" speech. Two legends and both died tragically
I thought this was a good performance & I appreciate it even more now, I Look To You oddly enough is actually my favorite album of hers! You should hear all the songs on it if you haven't.. :) So tragic though that we thought she was back! :(
Mel Tek I agree with you! such a shame that such talented star's such as Whitney and Michael chose the path of drug addiction they were my favourite singers I cried for day's when they were pronounced dead such a waste!! 😭😭😭
Im not sure why people sayher voice wasnt there, her voice sounded amazing to me here. She had to have been at peace here because she is glowing. RIP nippy
Ruby Abbas I want you to say that Loud to those who want to cancel the man. R Kelly maybe a nasty fucking idiot but he’s written some of the greatest hits of the 90s on.
How uncanny this song and its lyrics are to her story gives me goosebumps, still. She spoke to God, clearly and concisely, the way we all should. Continue to rest in perpetual peace, Darling.
There was no comeback she has always been around suffocated by the pressure around her. Its sad even today when I think about it, but she is in a better place now
Verdade Edna. Uma. Voz. Implacave. Comecou. A carreira. Cantando. Louvores. Gospel. Na igreja. Mais infelismente. as drogas Bebidas. acabou com a vida dela
She was one of the greatest singer and beautiful vocals of all time. She was a decent human and used to sing in Church with her mother. It was then. But the day that she met Bobby Brown, she was never the same Whitney that we all knew. RIP. We still remember you.
To me this was the best live performance of I look to you. She could still sing this wasn't the 80s, 90s, or even 00s Whitney this was the new Whitney. This Whitney didn't have to prove anything to any of us. She has already set records and has already captivated us with her magnificent vocal ability. She will always be number 1 because she was a true virtuoso. She always gave it her all no matter what shape her voice was in. Name another artist who can do this without any problems. Her voice was the 2010s version who could still sing songs from the 80s such as Dancing with the Stars I Wanna Dance with Somebody, Clive Davis Pre Grammy Party It's not Right But It's Okay, Good Mourning America Just One of Those Days, and from her new Album the American Music Awards performance of I Didn't Know My Own Strength just to name a few and Don't forget they all were live performances. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gave her this raw talent and her gift was ministering the talent to us. What a mighty good God we serve, despite our imperfections God still loves us. Don't let this world fool you because he is the Creator of all things. He is the alpha and omega, beginning and ending don't get caught up with the things of this World it's all temporary. God wants to use us for his glory not to uplift Satan's and his satanic kingdom that will lead us to damnation. God is the way no one comes to the father but by Jesus Christ he is the only way. She is now at peace from the harsh cruelty of this World. Thank God Almighty we are not perfect, but we should strive to be but love your neighbor as yourself. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!
I love you Whitney... you're forever etched in my heart. When I first came to know about you when I was a kid, it was a crystal clear voice belting out 'one moment in time'. And in that one moment as far as I remember, That's the same time I first learnt singing just by hearing you. Thank you for the music, Ms. Houston. You are so dearly appreciated and missed.
Words can be lost & sudden come. Ms.Whitney reminds me of myself in ways. Well respected woman. Whom has always Love the Body Of Christ. Love All Of her music. Rest Now Ms.Whitney Houstin.~
What's special and ironic and the reason why I love this particular PERFORMENCE of I look to you... is it was sung with so much emotion and her old self kind of came through a bit in her long holding soprano notes in which she used to do ALOT.. And in some WIERD way there are ANGEL WINGS AROUND HER ..like almost as if the man upstairs was actually there looking down on her and giving her her voice back
Whitney in raw form & still amazing. She really gave all to the Lord & he called her home. My angel son has it made in that pieceful place I would like to think hearing Whitney sing. Rip my son & Whitney
Wow when Whitney said this is from me to you.....had given me goosebumps, knowing today that she isn't here anymore with us. I Look To You To Whitney. Love 💚u forevermore.
rough spots or not she was till the Voice. master of her voice, whatever state it was in. fierce performance. Not easy to sing a slow, sustained song like this. Damn ..miss her.
She's incredible In this performance she shows she has matured so much and this song truly reflects what you will and already have experience I. Life but in the end it doesn't matter if you just look up to god for his infinite lobe a d strength with this love and understanding you will make it through beautiful song from a beautiful woman
Whitney Houston was one of the BEST female artistic Singers around, she will always be REMEMBERED never forgotten, Love u Whitney you were One of the BEST&always will, xxx ♥ :-)
@@thequintessential5503 sometimes people are giving sign , like my aunt never allowed anyone to do her hair and a week before she died she let a strange hair dresser do it
I love this performance. She sounds great. Its a confidence thing as well. I think she was finding her way back. I love and miss her dearly. She gives me strength and inspiration to move forward regardless of the struggles.
What I love about this performance is that she started decent, okay, almost good... then the lost it --- and I mean completely lost it for her standards... but then it happened, at 4:20 SHE was back... as if she wanted to sing in everybody's face: I am still Whitney Houston! That was a moment I will remember for a very long time.
I think overall this performance was great even though she wasn't at 100%. It's crazy how she's able to do what she does even when her voice is not at its fullest. For example all the riffs she does through the chorus and I believe the first verse.
Micah Harris it is because she is an excellent musician. Her musicality is incredible which makes her one of the best vocalist ever! She knows how to master her instrument (even in bad shape) to create great music.
Im watching u 2020 & so proud of u & feel blessed to have witnessed a voice singing like yours& so glad so touched in tears that u can stl touch my heart deep to feel every word& emotion u sing & live in me thank u whitney& i thank Jrhovah for blessing us wt ur voice that u also witnessed hs word & ner forgot God in all u did & always gev thanx & appreciated him & remimded people & wow ds song so beautiful makes me cry cos u sang like u knew u wer leaving but also it applies to all our lifes wt God & situations we go thru he pulls us thru.i wl always love u whitney to me u stl alive my sweet loving Song bird ur vouce no other can compare
It makes me cry to see the pain she’s in. I’m so sorry Whitney. I love you, and I’m so joyous you are in an indescribable peace with your Lord. Txs for the memories! 🙏
This is a great performance, indeed, but her absolute top performance (for many reasons) of her last years was by far at the 2009 AMAs, when she sang "I didn't know my own strength". This one is criminally left out of the new CD/DVD.
G. Noah K. Marvin Jadi You guys should check her performance at X Factor Italy it was for me her best performance during the 2009-2012. I will say this I look to you performance come 2nd and then AMA's :)
The AMA performance reminded me of the 90's Whitney the way she was singing. No she didn't sound like the early 90's Whitney but she gave the My love is your love vocals a run for its money. Voice was crystal clear that night.
Whitney Houston sounded absolutely beautiful here I would not have changed a thing❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉Looked beautiful as well. It's the tour she was not physically, emotionally, vocally ready for. That tour happened to soon and it wore her down and out. We miss you. You are still THE VOICE.
I look back at some of these later performances and though her voice had changed, you can still tell that she could sing. With age, length of time in the business and the unfortunate drug use she still maintained her basic vocal structure, runs and all. Some singers these days sound so bad you can't tell they ever knew how to sing. Their fans make excuses blaming age and length of years they sang, but listening to Whitney with added obstacles makes me know they have no excuse. I feel privileged to exist in the time period that Whitney occupied. The best!
It's her song written by R. Kelly years ago just for her. I feel the same way as far as the appreciating her more now. For me, I sense the true detail of what she was dealing with. Love her more now and I thought that wasn't possible.
I've loved her since I was 6 yrs old. Incredible woman and spirit!! God bless her family, friends, and fans. She won't be forgotten. Rest in Paradise with our heavenly father and Lord.
Was laying on bed, praying for the lockdown to end.. and this song popped into my head... The Lord talks to us all, we just need to listen... God Bless You Whitney...
even at this part of her career she still song live so great and sang live better than the recorded track. Still gave us a great piece of meaningful music love her for being a stickler for keeping that consistent. No matter how much pressure she never caved in and became a sell out. Bravo, hell we all gone die but at least she stayed true
