I am a 82 year old man, and my eyes still fill-up and overflow- I think we call that crying - when I hear or see Whitney. She was like a daughter in our house. I met her mother, Cissy, in 1968 in San Diego on a military base when she was backing Aretha. When her mother was featured on a Bill Cosby special in 1971, I was hooked on her sound. I searched for her album for over a year, beacause on the show, she went under Cissy Dillard, her maiden name. One night the family and I were returning hime from vacation driving our 1980 Pontiac station wagon down I-85, this song came on and I jsut knew it was Cissy, but I said, no, but then who is it? That was our introduction to Whitney and we "adopted" her into our family. When she died, it was like we had lost a family member. For years I could not stand to even listen to her music nor could my wife and daughters. We still love Whitney: We still miss Whitney, but she will forever live in our hearts.

2:47 it’s a shame that once man realizes he can’t control someone or something,he has to destroy. Well they took away her physical presence, but they will never bring the shame to her legacy that they were hoping for. Whitney Houston is a whole deal all by herself and will always be loved and seen that way.The multitude of people to come will all love Whitney Houston , and forever speak her name with love. I really miss her presence here in this realm, but GOD had a place prepared for her, and she went from her Mother’s arms , to the arm of The Everlasting FATHER! Praise HIS HOLY Name! This is a consummate Legend! We love you Whitney Houston!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘.Please tell the FATHER we said Thank You for gifting us Whitney Houston 🎼🕊️ 1:11:52

I have and her name is aretha franklin. As babyface put it aretha n her hey day vocally couldn't no female touch her. Miss Aretha franklin was the goat 4real. And i most definitely agree. If aretha her n her head she could n a heartbeat go there vocally. Her range was no joke and it didn't matter what song aretha gone make u feel her. Just go listen to aretha franklin gospel album amazing grace. My god the vocality she uses on that album and her rendition vocally on precious memories, never grow old and AMAZING GRACE omg jesus! Will literally bring u to tears. And that's taking nothing from whitney Houston because Whitney vocally wasn't nothing to b fucked up with either. But 2things can b true at the same time. Both of them were the goat. Both of them had beautiful voices and Both of them sung with so much soul and power. Hail to our late but the great vocal queens. Aretha franklin and Whitney Houston. Some say amen gotdammit 🙏amen! Applause Applause 👏👏 Now ya take a bow.

@@sexyshelly2011 she set alot of bars but not that one. There were others before her. And yes, she dodged notes. She also sang lots of her songs lowers even during her Bodyguard days. In the 80's well....no dodging. All her live performances were enhanced, way better versions of her recordings. She knew how to tear the house down.

@@sexyshelly2011on her recorded versions absolutely, but live? She absolutely knew when she wasn't going to be able to hit a note that night but she would simply do something else like an incredible run and people would still be extremely impressed by it. In her prime she was in complete and total control of her instrument and even on the nights when it didn't want to cooperate she knew how to work around it. It's part of what made her such an incredible performer and musician.

Whitney was fatigued and sweating with the heat, but I'm so grateful this concert exists. In my humble opinion, this is the best concert I've ever heard because I hear more of Whitney's natural humanity in her grandiose voice but also in the way she interacts with the audience. The way Whitney loved and engaged with her beloved fans was so beautiful to hear and see in Brunei. This concert conveys the power of love and admiration the public had for Whitney, and though the audio is not HD, I can fully feel and hear the love the fans showed Whitney. I can only imagine how potent and powerful the fans' cheers and screams must be if the audio was crystal clear. Though other performances and concerts are fully vocally perfect, the humanity and raw soul in this presentation despite Whitney not being vocally perfect for her known caliber really moves every fiber in my soul and beyond. Not to mention the majestic, celestial and royal entrance at the beginning. The instrumental portion of the introduction was so beautiful and beyond proper and appropriate to introduce The Legendary Queen Whitney into the concert. Everything about the band, the background musicians and the instrumental selections to move through the medley of songs was so carefully planned and crafted, every second of this concert sounds so good. Lastly, Nippy's extraordinary and majestic voice and style, grandiose and celestial indeed

I was blessed to see Whitney once live in Paris, France. Her love and devotion to God and her musical gift were readily apparent in every note she sang, every facial expression, the way she gracefully walked and danced across the stage etc. There were times she would look up as if she singing right to God. The girl was fantastic, like an idiot, I thought it was Whitney, THEN they introduced Whitney, and after being boo'd for being late, she started to sing and ombfa, made that other girl sound as bad as me, it was like Heaven opened up, (no pun intended). My God, the power and beauty in person was quite the otherworldly experience. You watch on YT, or TV, back in the day, and neither do they do this voice any justice. Absolutely incredible.
