These two are a master class in singing... The fact they came together to sing this was legendary. Whitney's voice is like anointed silk and Mariah the song bird. Love them both.
@@whitneyhouston1122 they wrote MARIA but pronounced it MARIAH, that's why she decided to call her that. It's not like one day she just woke up and decided to give her baby that name, she heard it on the musical, but hadn't she added the H at the end people would pronounce Maria like they normally do (Like in that Carlos Santana song Maria Maria), but that's not how she wanted it pronounced.
This song is part of The Prince of Egypt movie. It was the best song on the soundtrack. Whitney’s voice is like no other and there won’t be another like it.
No doubt about it, these two women ARE MUSIC. Both GREAT vocalist. But Mariah will always be my VOCAL QUEEN. SHE IS DA BEST!!!!! Don't get me wrong I love Whitney too, but Mariah will always be my #1 FEMALE ARTIST OF ALLL TIME!!!
One of the best collabs ever. And probably the best collab ever on the female music artist side. They won the Oscar for this gem and rightfully so. The Prince of Egypt was my favorite movie growing up. That's how I learned literally about Moses and Jesus etc.
I was born in ‘90. Grew up hearing Whitney ❤ One of a kind voice, never again will we hear anything else like it. RIP. Please, please do yourself a favor and watch The Prince of Egypt if you haven’t already. The soundtrack is the BEST, and it’s where this song originated from :) Best animated film ever, imo. It’s stunning, and I still remember seeing it in theaters when it opened. Ahead of its time. I watched it again recently as an adult and it hits different - had me SOBBING ❤
This is gorgeous. My favorite song from the movie is the song Moses’s mother sings as she sends him on the river sang by Ofra Haza. Her voice was magical to me. Sadly she passed away a year or two after this movie came out.
You will love the Whitney Houston, Cece Winans duets Count On Me & Bridge Over Troubled Water. She also sang on some of Bebe and Cece Winans first songs. She introduced them to the public. Also, react to Whitney's song Shoop.
Whitney's voice is purely divine, watch their academy awards live version or Oprah! That flash where Whitney kisses Mariah goodbye and by the elevator and says good bye I love you is now haunting today, and Mariah looked so sad too!
@@diorrboyyyyyou are CRAZY to think that Mariah’s vocal are ‘wEaK.’ A singer with lackluster vocals would never be a part of this song. These are two of the best of our time, so appreciate and RESPECT them, BOTH‼️
I had completely forgotten they did this together!! At the time it was so epic because it was the two biggest voices of our time and we always wanted to hear them together on a track! Thank you so much for reacting to this!! :-) Been subbed up for a while but really appreciate it! LOL
Not sure if I have goosebumps cuz Whitney is singing or because I know Mariah is about to sing. These two are possibly the greatest to live we’re blessed it happened in our lifetime RIP Whitney ♥️
It’s the message in the lyrics for me too though. Read them lyrics with it “We” Also Mariah was cut but Whitney was a MODEL before she was a singer and it showed in the video ❤
It IS from a movie: "The Prince of Egypt," an excellent cartoon feature movie containing this beautiful music! The set design of this video is made to match what was in this 1998 movie, which is about Moses.
Whitney voice was rainbow of love, Angels singing for God, her voice is childrens laughters, her voice is pure joy, calming like Sun in the morning, Whitney voice was hope for everyone, her voice was strenght of a woman, strenght of a mother, God samg trough Whitney and Mariah is magical voice, joy and happiness, they were perfect together! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm thinking the same. Nobody told me they had a song together. I'm thinking if they had put Celien Dionne with them. Back in the day those 3 ladies voices were it. If there were ever a liquid gold mine that's where you would find those voices. Yes🙏LORD. Pure gold.🌞
It's from The Prince of Egypt, a beautiful song by two beautiful women with lovely voices ❤️. This song makes me tear up every time I hear it specially because it's a Bible story.
Thank you for watching this one! I go through cycles of grief/extreme gratitude about Whitney. This was one of my fav motivators back in the day on the way to work as an RN. A duet at its finest 🎶 2 talented, beautiful Queens. RIP Whitney Elizabeth Houston and Chrissy 🙏🏼🕊
The 2 Greatest Voices to EVER exist on the planet. No one int the industry right now comes close to the caliber of vocalist these two women are. We have really good singers like Beyoncé, Ariana, Adele but they would never come close to the level of vocal gift and talent these to have NEVER! These two are beyond gifted - only God!
This video always sort of fascinated me, because Whitney appears taller but Mariah was actually 3 inches taller than Whitney so Miss Houston must have had on some serious heels. This was one of the greatest collaborations of all time.
Two of the Best female vocalists combining to give us a few minutes of heaven. They are so good. Love them. Like your channel. Continue doing your reactions. You are good Buddy. Do some Dimash Kudaibergen reactions. Start off with SOS of him and move on from there.
The music department was huge at my high school and every concert they did a massive department wide song. Were talking 8th grade band and chorus, upper band, jazz band, wind band, string ensemble, upper chorus, accapella group, and jazz choir all combined to do one song... This particular song was huge my sophomore year of high school and the music department chose this as the spring song. Imagine a full orchestra of 150+musicians combined with a 300+ person choir. It was amazing, especially since they did the theatrical version thats better than this version
I REALLY (ENJOYED) THE VIDEO. IT'S MY FIRST TIME (I CAN'T BELIEVE IT) THAT I HEARD OR SEEN THIS VIDEO. 😳 I HEARD (RUMORS) THAT THEY WERE (RIVALS). SO THIS IS 😮SURPRISING! THEY (BOTH) WERE (AMAZING). IF (MINNIE RIPERTON) HAD LIVE, (SHE) COULD HAVE PUT THE (ICING) ON THE CAKE WITH HER (VOCALS). JUST BEAUTIFUL 😍. KEEP IT UP! ❤️ TILL NEXT TIME
Prince of Egypt Fred...you probably watched it when you were little. It was a very popular animated movie with an epic sound track! I played it in my Sunday School class for years ☺️ This was their favorite song. If they didn't have the movie at home, they soon did! Not sure, but I think the sound track won awards at the Oscars to the Grammys.
This collab was surprising because the media made it seem they were arch enemies hating on eachother, but now we discovered that wasn't true at all. I was a fan of both and saw them both live, both spectacular in their own way
Another incredible female singer is Anastacia. She isn't really known in the US but absolutely huge in Europe yet she is American. She has a really distinctive voice. She won Australia's masked singer last year too. Check her out. She has loads of massive hits. I'm outta love is a good one to start with. One of those artists that is better live. Give her a try.
