Not to get all diagnosey, but as someone who has ADHD, a lot of Brandons behaviour reminds me of how I acted when I was in my early twenties. It's not an excuse for bad behaviour but it could account for the fact that his parents seem pretty solid, and yet he still seems to be constantly struggling with being an adult.

Drinking can affect ppl alot too. If he has any mental health issues drinking makes it so much worse. If you're anxious it increases that and if you're depressed it can make you more depressed the day after.

Yeah he parties too much. I don't think he's very introspective. He never looks into fixing whatever it is that makes him wanna party all the time, why he never wants to be alone, and he also doesn't wanna face that he only seems to like the idea of settling down and getting serious with someone. Based on his last two relationships his actions show he's not ready for that at all. The fact that he gets to live such a privileged life and doesn't have to work or even clean up after himself puts him completely out of touch with reality. That's not reality for most ppl. Having life skills and working is not a bad thing but I don't think he understands that.

This is a prime example of how nature AND nuture effect who you become. The parents can do everything "right" but their child is going to be who they are regardless. My sister and I were raised exactly the same but are completely individuals with different levels of compassion, motivation, etc.
