@Flava in ya ear lol I was turned off to her when she went off about Fantasia playing Aretha when in reality it’s Jennifer that played the part. Then she got on live and ranted about gays and her album sales not being high lol
@@FaithandNova I used to love hearing her sing till she made those hateful remarks about gay people. I don't like listening to the music of anyone who has hate in their heart toward any group, not Blacks, not Latinos, not Asians, not LGBT. She does have talent but she needs to work on her heart.
i agree whole heartly....great interview and i totally get why Whitney was attached to this woman..her energy, heart, and feelings with a great message comes though in this interview...really great!!!!
GOD MADE Lesbians?? If they R, WHAT difference does it make of sexuality?? I understand difference in PPL. Best way 2 see differences is 2 realize that someone we'll see you as being different and or strange? Who cares? ? Honestly, try to except everybody as you'd want them to try to love and respect U. Consider it.
I agree. God definitely had His hand on Whitney, and I believe that she’s singing for Him right now. I can hardly wait to hear Heaven’s choir/band. It’s yet another wonderful thing for us to look forward to! ❤️🙏🏼
"she did her best to fix it and be better" I believe this with all my heart. If you love sweets or bread or coffee, you know how hard those habits are to break. So what Whitney was going through was 100x harder. She fought the good fight and gave the world so much in the process.
Zomzi Love Such a true thing you said. We all have tendencies and weaknesses. Perhaps Whitney was steady crying to the Lord to keep her from temptation. We will know when we get there. Lord keep me humble and good and not judge others. Check my own "house" first
juanita mitchell I agree. Funnily enough, alot of exusers or suffers of addiction tend to consume copious amounts of sugar after becoming clean...best analogy I've read in a while.
@@crystalvouse7015 Kim Burrell is a wonderful soul plz leave her out of the theories of what happened. She truly loved Whitney. Whitneys death still affects her to this day
I never saw Whitney as a drug addict,I saw her as an Icon,A strong spiritual Black Woman that was dealing with life issues,None of us are perfect,He died for our Sins, and at the end of the day Only God Can Judge Us,I wish that we all thought this way but some of us are too ignorant to realize that we need more Love in this world, not Hate, she couldn't have represented her friend better,We can't change people,We can only change ourselves, may she continue to RIP & may God continue to watch over her family & friends
whitney makes me want to cry when i see her and her daughters relationship you could tell they had real closeness it just hurts may they both rest in heaven!
@@eugene289I don't doubt that Witney loved her daughter but she raised Bobby Kristina not Cissy. She stayed in a terrible marriage far too long. She was using drugs for too many years. Whitney said that when Bobbi K was 6 years old, her classmates told her that her mother was a crackhead. Bobby K didn't live in a sober home. Whitney may have been a better parent than Bobby but that ain't saying much.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of this woman, but I really love her, especially for what she said in the last moments of this video. People mean to be better but the flesh wants what the flesh wants. Drug addiction and alcoholism are insidious things. No one ever starts out to be addicted, it creeps up on you and it’s hard to deny once it has you in its grips, even if you know better. I will finish by saying this: Whitney Houston should receive mercy from us, not because she’s the greatest female singer that ever lived (which she was), but because we all need it. ❤️
I think out of all the celebrity deaths, this one is the most heartbreaking. You feel like you knew her personlly just by listening to her music. She was a gift to all of us. I think we need to take the time to appreciate that. RIP Whitney Houston.
Leolah Brown said something profound. She talked about how Whitney would never take a bath in a hotel room. I believe her. I too would never take a bath in a hotel bathroom. Anyone who knows me, would know something bad happened to me if I was found in a hotel bathroom. Some idiosyncrasies will always just be. RIP Ms. Nippy! You will always be my first love of song. I will always love you!
And I believe her. We know, and I don't if it's just black folks, but we will never sit in a hotel bathtub PERIOD. We are leery enough using toilets and showers in a hotel. They killed her!
@@msxrisy TRUTH! I have never nor seen any of my friends and family sit in a tub at a hotel. I pray the people who truly loved them find peace. RIP Whitney and Bobbi kristina 🙏🏾
Loved this interview by Kim Burrell about Whitney Houston. This Industry life is bigger than a lot of people think thay know. There are SO many pressures, opinions, disappointments, and heartaches, as well as Joy! Whitney gave and gave, & was on her way to being a "better Whitney" again. That is not an easy thing to do, with so much pressure on your plate too. I will always love Whitney for the gift that she gave. Let's honor her & remember that she was a human being with flaws, just like us!
I went to her Be My Baby Tonight tour in Oklahoma City. I was barely a teenager and I was on top of the world! Seeing my idol up on stage, the beautiful lighting, hearing her sing, she was in her element! I will never forget that moment. I sat on top of the huge speakers in front of the stage. I couldn't believe when the man asked me if I wanted to! I climbed on top, sat down, thanked the Good Lord, and closed my eyes and I felt my soul be free while she sang! All the beatings and abuse as a child no longer exist. Pure delight. I am now 41 years old and I will hold that near my heart forever. Side note: to the man that worked in the crew that gave me the ticket, I would never forget you. It was worth me finishing up that laundry of yours at the laundromat for that ticket! I never knew that moment would change my life forever.
As an 11 year veteran of EXTRA (editor), I have a unique perspective because I had the blessing of working with Bobbi Kristina on the set of For Better or Worse Season 1 in 2012 just weeks after her mom passed. I was on-set with her when the lies were printed about her about her supposed “behavior” on set, which was in fact professional, charming, spirited, talented, and amazing. I didn’t even know who she was when I decided she was a brilliant young actress. As an editor, I cut many of her scenes on the sit com, and saw how talented she was, and only later I discovered she was Whitney’s daughter I'd been editing! I only knew here as Bobbi. Slander against a teenager recovering from her mother's death in 2012 is for the pure wicked, and I hope these authors repent - today. I really liked working with Bobbi and was hoping for a brilliant career from this talented young actress. Pray for her and her recovery and her peace.
+Richard Arsenault The spirit of Jezebel and Lucifer will not win....what is done in secret will be shouted from the rooftops and oh how people will be so embarrassed of the things they did and thought would remain hidden. They took voice that Yahweh blessed us with. But, she is writing songs today I truly believe.
Richard Arsenault sadly. shes left this earth 💔and found peace. but thanks for that lovely comment. If we all realised everyone was a human even celebs; the world would be a better place with us showing each other love and not lies or slander.
Richard Arsenault What a gentleman you are to have taken the time to tell us this truth. Bless you, and may that angel Bobby Kris Rest in Peace, perfect peace!
***** What sins do I commit which you accuse me of? A person is a "hypocrite" if they don't practice what they preach. Your false accusations and slander of me is all you can do since you cannot defend Ms.Houston's sinning lifestyle. You can only lie and call them "battles", but God calls them SIN. Obviously you've chosen to reject God's Word as the final authority in your life. You're trying to complicate the issue by painting Ms. Houston as some kind of victim. We can see her fruit which proved that she was an ENEMY of God. Her days were spent in drinking heavily and partying in night clubs. Her God-given voice was ruined by her wicked worldly partying and smoking. Was she a Christian mother to take her daughter to worldly parties and introducing her to the same lifestyle that was her downfall? No! She was an adult who made her own choices. The Bible states that even the heathens have the Law written in their hearts and know right from wrong. This is why God will hold ALL accountable for their own actions (whether good or evil). *"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Cor.6:9-10* The real Jesus of the Bible will spew Christians out of his body for being lukewarm (Rev. 3:16), will disown others who disown him (Mt. 10:33; 2 Tim. 2:12), will have the unforgiving tortured (Mt. 18:23-35) and taught the Father will sever all Christians who are unfruitful from him and cast them into the fire!
truthdisciple You tell me (or someone who cares), what your sins are. But have them you do, that´s for sure. You are a hypocrite for calling whitney one. Jesus and God loves you beyond your fault and sins. So yes, Jesus loves her. This conversation is over.
***** Whitney Houston's sinful lifestyle is a known fact. Just because I repeat what is fact, does not make me a "hypocrite". The definition of a hypocrite is someone who doesn't practice what they preach. Whitney claimed to be a Christian, yet her fruits proved otherwise, which is a perfect example of the meaning of "hypocrite".
Whitney’s brother introduced her to coke long before she even met Bobby Brown. Whitney’s brother even admitted it on tv that Bobby had nothing to do with her drug use.
One thing don’t add up is how Whitney’s friend says pat never knew she was in LA.. now Pat being Whitney’s manager and busiest body around her, how could she have not known????? This goes deep, way too many red flags
@Flava in ya ear well she had some element of trust in pat otherwise she wouldn’t have been around, so yes I think she would have told her, especially still being in the position as manager!
Your right on point. I'm waiting for Leola Brown's book. Bobby Brown said that drugs didn't kill her. He wasn't willing to say more during The Whitney documentary about it
This woman was so honest and maybe is the only person who admits that "Whitney was her own person who made her own choices and was well aware of the results..." I cried for Bobbi because she was left with little to no support system. ONLY money grabbers who wanted her to accomplish at any cost, when emotionally she was lost, distraught and I can imagine felt hopeless without her mother
Powerful interview with such brutally honest words of wisdom. Whitney was blessed to have Kim Burrell in her beautiful but tragically short life. We love and miss Whitney! I pray for Bobbi Kristina to find a way to be truly happy...she seems like such a lost soul.
Great interview. This friend of Whitney’s honored Whitney and showed that she was a flawed human who above all leaned on God for comfort even in her dying moment. No other documentary needed. This is real, uncut, unfiltered and to the core of who Whitney was. Rip Whitney Houston, Rip Bobbi Kristina. The Greatest Gift of all #Life in God
No other female vocalists could ever touch Whitney Houstons voice, not just the voice but her warmth, her feeling, her energy! I never trusted the media story.
Insurance scam. They used Ray J, I believe Clive Davis had it done because he invested that $ in her and she couldn't sing anymore. So he collected the concert insurance. I bet AIG is in the background (ie. Michael Jackson etc.).
Nick Gordon don't got shit to do with this they using him as a pawn to throw the blaim on if you going point fingers point them at Clive Davis Pat..Ray j
Sounds like kim was a real friend to whitney. Sounds like shes keeping it real. She comes off as that friend that tells you about yourself whether u like it or not
I heard it said once, that when a smoker gets lung cancer and passes, noone blames the person, gossips about the person, or says," how could they do this to their family?", or " they got what they deserved". I hope and pray that someday we will all learn there is no difference in any addiction, no matter the substance. Noone wakes up and wants to have an addiction- noone!! Love and kindness is the only way to help an addict- not enabling but real love. I am grateful Whitney shared her voice with us, and I pray she is at peace with God and his perfect understanding. I will never forget hearing she was gone, there will never be another Whitney Houston
I can tell that she was a true friend who genuinely loved Whitney and this is probably the best interview that I've seen recalling the event. Well done!
This woman speaks the truth for all of us...we are ALL flawed, but when youre in the public eye, it gets called out...over and over again! Life is hard, we need to pray hard!!! Rest in peace Whitney!!! 🙏💖🌟
How do u tell a 18 year old to pull their self together after she seen her mother die impossible you hold her up she didn't have the strength to hold her self up
Tatiana Taylor Who does? I tell my mom that I wanna go first before they do. I've said to her that if she goes first to come for me and take me with her. I wouldn't care about life or anything
What a beautiful soul this lady has and I am so glad Whitney had her as a friend. Not many of us are lucky enough to have such honest and supportive friends in our life ....ever. Kim Burrell has a calmness about her which makes you want to stop and listen to what she has to say. This is the bestand most honest account of Whitney's passing I have witnessed thus far.
Lisa Terry7777 YES BODY LANGUAGE . WE SHOULD ALL STUDY THE WAY PEOPLE MOVE WHEN THEIR TALKING TO US. THOSE 7S ARE GOD'S PERFECT COMPLETE NUMBER. CHRIST JESUS IS KING!
May the Lord continue to bless you Pastor Kim Burrell for being a friend and more importantly a sister in Christ to our beloved Whitney Houston. Now, it is Bobbi Kristina who needs your prayers, divine energy and support. Hold Krissy in your heart.
From everything that has been said, there was one person in particular that was not good for Whitney or her daughter. There are really some money grubbing fools that will go to any extent to get it. They say keep your enemies close but this one was deadly close. Her mom even trusted this person..so very sad.
Excuse me for saying this but a woman cannot be a pastor. The pastor is to be the husband of one wife! Lord have mercy we are not reeong out king James bibles anymore. Get yourselves down to Woolworths and buy y’all a King James authorised Holy Bible. Also I don’t believe the people are ohms Whitney cared much about her other than the easy money they all got paid!!
For everyone who calling out Whitney's flaws.. you should know that a sin is a sin.. no sin is greater than the other... We ALL are born into sin which automatically makes you a sinner
PEOPLE AROUND HER KNEW SHE WAS DEPENDANT,PAT KNEW IT AND MAYBE SHE WAS FED UP WITH THE BABY SITTING THAT STUFF CALLS FOR, THAT NEVER WORKS ANYWAY. CHRIST CAN GET YOU OFF OF STUFF.
Like were all stupid Whitney was a grown women when she started dating Bobby Brown .... A girl does't ll of sudden start laying there pot with coke / The whole thing is wrong .. Pat Sucks i gree
How come when all these stars die they are always by themselves and nobody calls or come by or anything its like they all know who's next and try to stay away eerie feeling!!
Timika Roberts just like when Micheal Jackson died his personal chef and kids was down stairs the whole time and not once did anyone know of him being dead until around noon time after she fixed his lunch😩✊ it is very weird huh
Thanks for sharing this with us, Kim.... We loved Whitney too and are so thankful you gave us more insight to the life of the woman we all loved like a mom or a sister... May she rest in peace...
During this ordeal I cried like my own sister people truly loved Whitney...during the funeral I couldnt control myself my grand said gma why u crying like that! "All I could say was you wont understand Jordan it's whitney funeral...he walked off shaking his head like "really grandma!"
You know the water was so hot in that bathtub and caused 2nd & 3rd degree burns on Whitney. There's no way she got into that tub herself. This woman was about to get fired by Whitney... She knows something!! She knows how Whitney really died!!!
Hot water also can cause a HEART ATTACK.make your heart stop. She had some drugs in her system.Read her Autopsy.google.This was orchestrated..why.didnt fulfill her 100 million contract.she took too long to regroup off her tour.promised 6 albums.Music execs get their money on time or they get from insurance contracts when you die.Millions were made of Whitney when she died..they got their money back and more..Holograms are coming next
Wow, I really felt Kim's heart in the video, and to see some of the comments is truly sad. No one knows what these people go through being in the spotlight they are human just like us, they hurt they bleed, and make bad decisions like the rest of us. I would love to see the negative people try to live the life they do and see how they would fair....
I love Whitney Houston as if she was my mother. Her beautiful voice and courageous personality lit up a room. I have never been in her presence but I have watched a lot of her performance and she was definitely a show stopper. Regardless of the life style she lived she always gave recognition to the Almighty Heavenly Father Up Above. Her poise and sophistication captivated a lot of attention by itself. Let us not judge for we may be also judged with the same measurement. May this Devine Queen and Her Beautiful Precious Jewel Daughter Continue to R.I.P.
Whitney Houston was a class act an amazing woman and a classic beauty. She was always regal and classy she never used her body or her looks to get fame. She was a monumental force a real true lady and heald her head high and proud because everything she had she got by honest decent hard work. She was never a cheesy gimick or ever used shock value to get her name out there. She was a very special person an amazing mother snd wife. She valued her family and her loved ones above all else. And that included her very many fans. May she rest in peace and stand forever beside her daughter and loved ones in the kingdom of heaven.
Thank you for this interview Ms. Burrell. I think we have all gained so much insight into WH's spiritual life and her knowledge and love for God. RIP Whitney Houston!
Whitney was beautiful in all ways. Reassuring to know she had genuine friends. This lady has a beautiful heart and soul. We'd all be rich having friends like this lady. TFS.
Pastor Kim, thank you for being there for Whitney, just to have a friend like you gives me hope that we can find a small few to pray with us and open up to.
had tears in my eyes with this interview...my heart goes out to bobbi christina i know what its like to loose a mother at a young age, and how ups and downs, and the heartbreak...my prayers are with her, and the family
What a dear and beautiful person Kim Burrell ~ Her words and thoughts are so pure and real and honest . Thank you for posting this She has comfort in her voice ~
