@@Oldschoolballroomdvd Whitney was already legendary in 93? I thought he started walking in 1988. I hear some older icons say it use to take 10 years or more to be legendary while others seemed to have gained status within 4-5 years.

@@iss_iam809 Whitney started his ballroom career in 1989 as a either a La'Beija or Magnifique. It did not take him long to conquer the face category. In the 80's, there wasn't a system of when you became legendary. I'm not sure where the "10 year rule" came from or how that started. At one time it depended on how many trophies you won and/or your impact in the ballroom that made you a legend. In his (Whitney) prime. he was winning grand & 1st place prizes back to back.

He is though because he SELLS IT. Im sure this is coming from someone ugly that never stood a chance in ballroom…bc u have no idea of the art. Whitney was absolutely more attractive in THIS clip but the art of selling which face is about……Tony gave that. Weirdo
