One man wanted it, the other didn't. One man went forward and was aggressive and took chances. The other man backed off and took none. One man made the fight. The right man won.
Feel like Simon’s being harsh on that fight. There were moments mid fight that Beterbiev looked like he might take over and I was very impressed with Bivol’s heart to pull back some momentum. Lots have folded in that situation. It was an elite level fight. If you wanna see a brawl, go to your local boozer.
Theres nothing wrong backing a friend even if he truly believes it or not he hasn't jumped the AJ train. Majority of us believe AJ is finished or was never the man he is backing his mate
Backing a mate is all well and good but you’re being paid for your analysis and fight expertise. If that’s perpetually clouded by your allegiances then you have no place in the paid conversations you’re having.
Oliver is part of the problem..I don’t get why Joshua automatically gets another big fight ..I’m with Adam’s suggestion that other fighters deserve a chance to fight in stadiums .. IMO Joshua was and is still finished after Ruiz
@@robinellis7843 exactly he’s been paid to be neutral Not answer because he deserves it He’s a challenger who was treated like the champion who got battered
@@Jamesbe3ker Imagine if Diddy put a fraction of the energy into getting a girlfriend as he does Baby Reindeering on every Hearn or AJ vid. It’s proper creepy, his mum may need to have him tested. 😢
Simon saying he didn't think the main event was great shows he is not a boxing man. It was a sensational battle anyone who knows boxing will realise and appreciate what we saw.
I had it 115-113 for Beterbiev but it was such a close fight that it could have gone either way. I actually think people are underestimating how much of Bivols shots hit the gloves of Beterbiev (I see a lot being made of the other way round). Again, it depends what a judge prefers. Bivol worked in bunches with accurate punches but Beterbiev was a consistent pressure with more damaging blows and effective ring generalship. Also! bear in mind that Beterbiev’s 5 months post surgery and nearly 40 years old. What a great fighter, a shame we didn’t get this fight when Artur was younger. He’s only slowing down now so any future fight/fights he won’t be what he *could* be.
@@realife1542 Personally i couldn't take my eyes off it for aa second, and im hearing the same from anyone i speak to. I think SJ is struggling to be controversial.
Simon how is your boy Betty Shallom doing? Terrible night for Boxxer - Fraze got his face rearranged - Ben W quit and left in a wheelchair - Jack Massey had his team throw in the towel and Eubank looked like crap - please get Betty Shalom on the line for an interview we would all love to hear what excuses he has now.

Ben Whittaker in my opinion was exposed in the Leon Willings fight he was getting caught with left hooks throughout the fight if Willings had power he would have lost that night
Dalton Smith is 27 Years old & I think this fight with him & Adam Azim will be a great fight it’s a 50/50 Match up for me Now If they was to do it at the Sheffield Wednesday Hillsborough Stadium they could get easily 30k + Fans for that fight Let’s hope it happens soon next year 🥊🥊👍👊
Simon Jordan utter nonsense again he talked about Fraser Clarke winning all week now all of a sudden he picked Wardley just always has to be right Simon Jordan
Eddie bribed judges and the ref. Ref Marcus McDonnel saved Anthony Joshua from Dubois. Howard Foster and Glenn Feldman tried to rob Usyk on the scorecards against Anthony Joshua
@@G-Man78brilliant to see the myth doing a daft dance everytime he fights someone reasonably credible though. Couldn't have been happier when DDD knocked him sparko
For as much as we love the showmen, we love to see the showmen humbled. Part of the reason we like the trash talk (which showmanship during fight can b e taken as) is the fighter is investing themselves in the competition with words which draws us in to see success or poke at failure.
Close fights with a lot of swing rounds can have seemingly wide score cards. It may seem counter intuitive but its really isn't when you think about it. Judges are told to only score a 10-10 draw round as a last resort and should pick a winner unless they feel its absolutely impossible to do so. So, given that and each round you give to one boxer, you are by defintion taking away from the other, an 8-4 score card is only 1 more round better than a 7-5 scorecard and only the 2nd best winning score card you can get out of 6. That ain't wide at all but sounds it when you say stuff like "They only gave Bivol 4 rounds"
Understand he was there from the start, but Spencer Oliver is unbearable in panelled conversations. He has to learn to listen and let others finish their sentences 🤦♂️
I watched the fight back and its not even that close. 7-5 or 8-4 Beterbiev. Even Liam Smith who was ringside said there was 1 round in it after 9 and then Beterbiev won the last 3. So even if he was down by 1 he won that 7-5.
Picking at eddie saying it was a robbery, yet when bob arum said the same thing in the ring on the mic infront of millions of people about fury v usyk people just laughed it off, as soon as eddie says it "its bringing boxing into disrepute" 😂😂😂 these lot are actually funny, eddie literally lives in simons head and its fkin amazing to see, he cant have a single boxing conversation without bringing him up 😂😂
Just before the Beterbiev-Bivol result was announced, Spencer Oliver had scored it 116-112 in favour of Beterbiev and was adamant about his decision. However, he lacked the courage to stand by it and changed his score to 115-113 in this video.
No mention how Boxxer fighters have been losing badly in recent weeks! Tyler Daney got absolutely wiped out, Ben Whittaker exposed and quit, Jack Massey completely beat up in a career shortening fight and Fraser Clarke got completely destroyed
Proper boxing fans knew what they were getting with Bertebiev and Bivol, two absolute greats who were never gonna roll the dice Only casuals expected drama and fireworks in that fight
Boxxer have quoted he aggravated a neck injury & stated he had X-rays on his foot & has a sprain…in other words nothing showed on the X-rays ! ..David Haye fought on with a snapped achillies & as for neck problems the way the head is snapped back with punches most wld have neck problems if not strong enough…felt sorry for the opponent:(
2:10 Spencer admitting why he's not a judge ; you can't give it to a guy because he's doing the better work in the last 10-30 seconds ; has to be judged over the whole 3 minutes.
I think if theirs no clear winner then it should be called a draw... I was scoring the fight with my brother in law live and my score card ended a draw - but as soon as the fight finished my exact words to him were it will all depend on what the judges prefer here, an aggressor pushing his man back or an outside boxer picking his shots and negating what's coming towards him. It is one of the best boxing matches I have ever watched, not one of the best fights, but one of the best boxing matches, I couldn't take my eyes off it.... What I would ask all the people that watched it is this, when the judges scorecard of 116-112 was read out, what was the first thought in your mind as to who that 116-112 went to? Mine straight away & out loud was Bivols won then.. I think their needs to be more draws in boxing if theirs no clear winners. Especially when it's all on the line.
The (brilliant!) Bivol will probably have it just as, or even more difficult, in a re match -he simply lacks the punching power to keep Beterbiev at distance, needs to go in and brawl with him plenty more often to win, and he can't do that without a MAJOR risk of being knocked out himself.
Bivol was so gracious in defeat praising Beterbiev for the victory. Bivol had a case for victory himself but showed true class in accepting the scorecards.take note Josh Taylor who forever damaged his reputation after the first Caterall fight. Eubank Snr admitted Nigel Benn won the rematch which only enhanced the great man's popularity and these are the champions we love and remember because not only are they great fighters but are honest and humble when they lose.
Not even AJs biggest lapdog Spencer Oliver can justify Dubois gifting Joshua another belt shot at his belt. Dubois battering him was funny the first time but there’s no need to do it twice. Game changed 4 loss AJ 😂
I remember fabio talking about the improvements of fisher in the gym and with every bout like fab, hes getting better. 2-3 years down the line that will be a incredible bout.
Exhibit A) Simon “the fight didn’t live up to the hype due to it not catching fire at any stage” Exhibit B) Spencer “Bivol can knock him out in the rematch he’s got the power of to do it” Simon “he hasn’t knocked anyone out for 6 years” Spencer “i didn’t say he can knock him out I said he could win” Two bits of evidence that talk sport is a spoof comedy show and a parody and not a comedy real sport channel.
Simon Jordan got it spot on about Beterbiev and bivol and if bivol thinks he can try anything different then moveing about he will get knocked out, Adam is right as well Parker deserves he’s shot now I hope they dnt give Aj an another opportunity back down the ladder for Aj simple golden boy keeps getting chancers,as for the 5v5 why not have England vs USA 8vs8
Didn’t take long for SJ to get an Eddie dig in… and trying to justify it first just shows how long he was thinking it over and having it scripted. Problem is now, everyone knows Eddies living SJ’s in head and he’s got to try and justify anything he says whether he’s got a valid point of not. By his reckoning, he must now be the face of Talksport and should act accordingly!!
@@HuwEvan I think you’ve made a mistake cloned Huw. You’re referring to Wilder as he has never beat anyone in the top 10 I believe. In fact he has lost every fight he’s ever had against a top 10 opponent. Fury, Parker and Zhang I believe. Sad times 😢
The talk about Wardley is baffling. On the one hand you say Warren is a top match maker who guides a fighter better than anyone, then on the other you say throw him in with a top tier heavyweight. Realistically he’s going to fight a name that isn’t in the top ten. He’s just cleaned up the British heavyweight scene, why would anyone that cares about him catapult him into top world level bout he isn’t ready for. A Franklin or someone that has done rounds with a top guy, that isn’t a top guy themselves would be next surely.
Simon is definitely wrong.. that was the best fight in ages technically.. it made heavyweight fights look silly. That was a brilliant spectacular fight!!! A rematch is warranted and with rehydration clause!!! We need true lightweight competition.. not AB looking like a cruiserweight
0:38 Spencer "Its the first sensible thing I've heard you hear so far" 0:54 Jordan "I thought I'd shooken off" Yep this is the standard of the English of the broadcasting here....smh
Why is Simon so uncomfortable saying that a fighter has quit when referring to Ben Whittaker but doesn't have any reservations about saying it when AJ lost to Ruiz? Where did this sudden change come from?🤔
Don't like to use the term casual, but Jordan is closer to that description than anyone else on the panel. And there's nothing wrong with that. For me, that was great fight. I was on edge from the start. So impressed by Bivol's grit and skills and tactics. Beterbiev is just a Tank, so strong with hurtful punches. Unbelievable fighter. Best top level _boxing_ match I've seen for a while especially for what that fight was. *UNDISPUTED*
Simon’s only saying “as a non fighter, I don’t think it’s right that I say Ben quit” because Adam Smith said that exact sentence on the White and Jordan show on talksport yesterday🤦♂️🤦♂️have you own opinion Simon!
I think it would be a super episode to watch the fight live and you 3 judge it/score it as you watch it and see what scores you actually give it...WITH THE COMMENTARY OFF TOO
I think Beterbiev stops Bivol next time. There's no way Beterbiev could have properly trained or spared or been confident in his leg after surgery which undoubtedly would have compromised his fight with Bivol on some level but he was still incredibly strong and had Bivol in trouble on a few occasions imho so imagine an even sharper and more confident Beterbiev next time... kinda suggests he'll get at Bivol more often and have a bit more thunder on those big hammers he throws.
