"Taran dreams of adventure, but nothing exciting ever happens to an Assistant Pig-Keeper, until his pig runs away. A chase through the woods leads Taran far from home and into great danger, for evil prowls the land of Prydain. With a collection of strange and wonderful friends whom he meets on his journey, Taran finds himself fighting so that good may triumph over evil, and so that his beloved home will not fall to a diabolical fiend."
It's still all just random manips, though there are a few parts that are based on actual things from the books, for example:
:09 - :12 is their first meeting
:22 - :26 can either be when he's leaving her in The Black Cauldron (second book) or Castle of Llyr (third book...though we never actually see him leaving her)
:35 - :40 is him coming back to Caer Dallben in The High King and she's waiting for him
:40 -0:47 Castle of Llyr, when she doesn't remember him

i keep meaning to read these books, because this video is SO gorgeous. you're coloring fits the melody (if that makes sense...) of the song perfectly, and the overlay is amazing

Um, Taran is dark-haired and Eilonwy is pretty strongly stated as having red-gold hair. The dynamics here are nothing like the books, where Taran and Eilonwy spend a great deal of time affectionately bickering.

Almost an entire *decade* has passed since this video was uploaded, and it still makes me so happy inside. To see such a lovely live action representation of one of my favorite literary couples is wonderful. I remember how excited I was when I first found this on youtube all those years ago. I come back to it every once in a while, and still get that fluffy satisfaction inside. Thanks for making this.

@MundaneMuggle Hey, I'm just glad we understand each other! Fans of Prydain can be hard to find, so I love that we have open discussion and we get both positions. I can well imagine your struggle; to be fair, I'm sure it's devilishly difficult finding an actress who resembles Eilonwy, as strawberry blondes are so hard to come by. I hope you'll continue to make more videos in the future, and who knows, maybe even more actors and actresses will be available!

@MundaneMuggle Thank you very much for the civil response, and for explaining the artistic inspiration behind the video. This being about their time during the separation changes a lot. ^_^ I think I see so many films butchering wonderful books that I sometimes have knee-jerk reactions to casting. I compare to books, not other films, and I would like to see more Prydain out there as much as anyone. Does this take place around Taran Wanderer, The High King, or even Castle of Llyr? Thanks!

When I think about it. Two actors who would look close to these two would make a wonderful Taran and Princess Eilonwy. and the person who made this video really new what they were doing. :D

@baritoneslur It's Rachel Hurt Wood; I can tell because a good chuck of the clips whoever made this video used is clearly from the movie "Peter Pan" in which Rachel played the part of Wendy, and it's apparent also that while there are other movies thrown in here, it's the same actress.

if you don't agree you haven't read prydain (jk but still...) Black Cauldron is the best and right behind it is the high king (still makes me sad at the ending)

@VintageRose503 I'm sorry you were upset by my comment, though it was not a personal attack. I'm just passionate about the books, and tend to be a bit of a stickler for detail. My imagination is quite functional, thanks for the concern.
