Hahah.. Yes.. They have great style and personality.. Kai is the global ambassador of Gucci and Sehun is the global ambassador of Dior. Chanyeol is ambassador of Prada and Baekhyun is Burberry's ambassador. Suho is Bvlgari's ambassador. Chen currently is a father of two child and just returned from his military service. They all have acted in several dramas and movies as actors and some of them are musical actors too. Kyungsoo won many major awards for his legendary acting skills. Baekhyun is the first to sell over a million in decades and over 2 millions album copies in kpop history as a soloist. Hope you'll try to know more bout these boys. Exols are always proud of them.

about the enlistment.. it's definitly hard; i cry my heart out when they go.. but they have to do it EXO are Nation's Pick, S.Korea is so proud of them for showing how they love and want to protect their country. Their are the "true idol"- a good example to younger generation to show their respect to their mother land. they're legend!!!

This guide is a little outdated. The only members left to complete military are the 2 maknaes, Kai and Sehun. 2 are finishing up their service and will get out either the end of this year or the beginning of the next. There is a more updated guide and it goes more in detail of each member made by Pastel Kookies, the ultimate guide to Exo, it’s longer but super informative. Edit: with Chen he really got major backlash from Korean fans due to his engagement and baby, even tried to kick him from the group which failed horribly, he spent time off from publicity and work and spent time with his family and military service and now he has 2 kids. We are so happy for him❤️

As a long term EXO-L … we live on crumbles .. life of an EXO-L is both rewarding (read talent, quality of the content they produce) and most difficult.. we have been through a lot .

I agree that you should definitely do the Cesar Oh individual guides, as they will give you everything you need to see the talent and versatility of each member, and you'll see even better why they're called the Kings of KPop. Regarding enlistments, with EXO, their members all dropped a song or album just before they left to tide us over (I think most idols do), although it's still heartbreaking to know that you're not going to see them for up to 2 years. Baekhyun and Chanyeol have tried to make it easier by releasing monthly videos that they filmed before their enlistment. It does still seem like a really long time without them, though (I feel like Hui from Pentagon - another band you should definitely check out as they are criminally underrated - has been gone for a lifetime). ONF have all chosen to do their enlistment simultaneously so they don't have the hiatus stretching out. BTS are getting close to needing to go unless they get a waiver - but my understanding is that Koreans don't really appreciate people trying to get out of serving unless they have a good medical reason (not because they make lots of money), so while their fans don't want them to enlist they probably will end up having to, like everyone else, or suffer a massive backlash in their home country. I think the oldest (sorry, not a fan so I don't know his name) has to enlist by the end of this year, as will Kai 😭. Sehun, our maknae, will have to go early next year as the deadline is 30 years old in Korean age (not international age). EXO-Ls are waiting for 2025 when they'll all be back - and there will be a death scrum for tickets to any concerts they might put on.

in super junior's case, their fans waited for almost 10 years to have a complete super junior comeback. i also think that if you really like a group whether they're in a hiatus for a long time, it will be worth it to wait for them since the artists' themselves are also excited to go back & make music. it's a mutual feeling.

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different "starting very roughly and ending unrealistically gently". Kyungsoo's unique voice gives each song a unique charm. I'm ready to listen to his voice as much as I want.! Even when Kyungsoo just speaks, he wants to listen and listen to endlessly, such a pleasant voice.

With me personally my ult bias not just in Exo but in Kpop in general is D.O. He’s the reason I found out about Kpop. When he announced he was doing early military service it shocked a lot of us due to the suddenness of it. He said it was due to his upcoming movie role he had so he was getting it out of the way. When Exo came out with their new comeback Obsession it was kinda sad that he wasn’t there but one good thing about Exo is that every member is bias worthy and the time passed fast so it wasn’t too bad, (also helped the man is just a recluse and doesn’t have social media so we really didn’t feel the absence in that sense). But with Baekhyun it’s definitely felt due to his social involvement with fans on Twitter and RU-vid.

EXO is my very first and only favorite band in the entire K-POP industry and baby Kyungsoo "D.O." is my very first and only bias in the entire K-POP industry. Or rather, it was love at first sight, of course all the members are unrealistically talented beauties, but it was baby D.O. who attracted my attention as soon as I saw him for the first time.

They enlist before they turn 30. Yes, we miss them when they enlist, but for EXO members, they each make sure to update us even when on military. Like for example, Baekhyun & Chanyeol pre-recorded a lot of videos and they are being updated each month! and Btw, 4 have already finished, 2 are currently in, and 2 maknaes are yet to enlist. It's tough, but we love EXO and we know that the comeback with all members is gonna be LEGENDARY! ❤ Also, the individual guides by Cesar Oh are the Best! As for the group, please react to this one. Best to watch EXO travel the world on a ladder in season 2 Here on RU-vid. Season 1 was only 3 members and in season 2 there were 8 members (complete). They are currently showing season 3 but only 5 of them, 3 are currently in the military. You will be surprised just how adorable their personalities are. They are very funny and completely different from their idol persona. I like them a lot.

Well being a fan of exo is like having 9 older lovely friends for me, cause I'm an exo-l (exo fan) since they debuted and i feel we kinda grown-up with each other and i learned a lot of things from them... Every time i was through any hardship i looked up at them (as i do now) and they encouraged me to keep going.... They are good humans and very respectful toward their fans so it feels really nice being their fan... And of course they produce masterpiece songs that i really enjoy and with this all how can i not be and stay a fan even if they enlist?

While in the military, they serve in different divisions and have different jobs. D.O. for example was a military cook (and reportedly, the food quality improved while he was there). Many idols join the military band. Some idols, like Suho and Baekhyun, are relegated to office work/inactive duty, due to injuries or if they’re new fathers. Inactive duty soldiers get to go home at the end of the day, but are still not allowed to engage in any business activities, like solo promotions or with their group, and the time they serve is much longer. Being a longtime fan, it is a bit sad when idols enlist, but at the same time, it is really not as long as you think. Just a year and a half to two years, so it’s tolerable.

The age for Korean men to enlist is between 18 and 30. Most regular South Korean citizens enlist as soon as possible to get it over with, but obviously idols are usually in training for their music careers in those earlier years so most idols tend to start enlisting once they hit the late 20's, after their career has been more established. And some people don't realize but North and South Korea are actually still at war, it's just basically been at a standstill (détente) for many years now, but it's never really been called off. That's why enlistment is mandatory. While in the military, most idols don't reach the point of active duty or deployment, they only have to serve for about a 1 year and a half and most idols work service jobs, like the police and desk jobs, or even the military band. Some idols do make the choice to pursue further placement in the military. Regardless though, all idols go through the same basic training as every other military enlistee, so they get the military routine and firearms training etc. For fans, the wait is often pretty tough, but it's helped by the fact that MOST idols release some sort of solo release or album right before enlisting and then usually in groups they stagger the enlistments one member at a time, that way the rest of the group can continue to make songs together and when one member comes back, the other one goes, until they're done. Of course some groups have foreign members so that makes it easier because they don't have to enlist at all. For example, the group NCT which has 23 members, they have a wide age range and 14 of those members are foreigners so over half the group doesn't have to go to the military so their schedules wouldn't be AS affected as a group like BTS where they're all Koreans and are closer in age. With EXO right now, Suho, Xiumin, Chen and D.O are all already back from the military. Baekhyun and Chanyeol are still serving and Kai and Sehun are due to go within the next year or two. Also Chen has since been married and they've welcomed their second child as well!

Actually most of them are ambassadors of big brands such as Prada(Chanyeol), Dior(Sehun), Burberry (Baekhyun), Calvin Klein, Valentino(Lay) etc.. Like you said this video was weak but it still gives you basic info. About the military enlistment all korean men needs to do their mandatory military service before they are 30. It lasts 1.5 year (but if they have a health issue or smt they can work as a social service worker for 2 years). Usually idols don’t go to harder units?(idk the right word lol) But some of them go to places where they work harder as soldiers (Like Exo’s Xiumin or Shinee’s Minho etc) I feel like it has a huge affect on the groups. Like it puts the groups on hiatus and if they are at the peak of their popularity it certainly effects them badly. Some group members enlist all together to minimise the time but Exo chose not to do that so they started to enlist in 2019 and the youngest members (last members to enlist) will return in 2024-2025. That means 6 years of their carrier as a group will be wasted. It makes me sad to think about it but im glad they didn’t all enlist so we can get solo work and special albums from the rest of the members. Some of the fans started stanning other groups while waiting lol My favorite kpop (my ult) idol Baekhyun enlisted last year and it’s definitely so hard to not hear from your fav artist for 2 years. But music and talent wise no other group can be on Exo’s level (imo ofc) so even tho i listen to other groups as well i will always wait Exo to put out new music! ♥️ (And sorry for the long rant lol i wish i haf better english to explain more of my thoughts lmao)

Though, it might feel a bit empty at first if you're used to consuming new content consistently and that constant stream suddenly stops. However, I try to think positively and take that time to catch up on all their other content I missed or didn't know about at first. 17:03 There hasn't been active conflict since the armistice was signed in 1953, but the war is not technically over and could theoretically break out again at any moment. So, enlistees train as if they are actual soldiers in traditional military branches, just without the war part. Ive been a kpop fan since 2009 first group I liked back then was mblaq, 2pm,2am, shinee, bigbang and superjunior and then newer groups came out like b.a.p infinity cnblue and more. At the start I just liked watching their mvs and listening to their music but I wasnt really a proper fan until I watched more variety show of shinee and 2pm and thats when I became more of a dedicated fan or so I thought before I was introduced by my friends from ph to EXO wolf. 2013 was the year I got to know EXO I still remember blasting wolf and singing along all the day I was really into werewolfs back then and they just gave me a song that fitted just right afterwards I started getting more curious and curious about them so I ended up watching their show EXO showtime and man did I fall for these boys it was so funny and they were just so amazing. Anyways I've been a fan now for 9 years...I've witnessed everything even if I wasnt able to be in a concert, watch live or vote on some platforms I still supported them with what I can. They give me strength and kept me going they were my support too. I feel like I grew with them as if we're long old friends so waiting for them for an year and a half is doable. We would miss them to death we would want to see and hear about them and how they are doing but we will still hope only the best and patiently wait for the day they are discharged. Xiumin, kyungsoo, suho and now Chen all of them finished two are left and two more to go but because we are each other’s support we can do this EXO-Ls and EXO are family like that. We will always stand by their side I know it sounds cringy but imagine watching someone for 9 years even if you never met them in real life there is still a connection because they made you smile, cry and laugh sometimes even more than your own family. All we could do is watch the old stuff while waiting like the good fans we are.

With regards to enlistment, it's actually a sad reality, I've been into k-pop for around 12 years. What if feel is that it's a disadvantage to them because they will be inactive for around 2 years and there are so many new groups coming out that some fans might shift their focus to newer groups. what usually happens is that like with EXO, there would be a shift in focus from the group to the individual members as they would explore their solo careers. A group that I feel has rebounded well from the military is Shinee.

Let me tell you. Baekhyun is not only my EXO bias, but my ult bias, so I'm struggling right now lmao. Not only that, Taemin from SHINee enlisted roughly around the same time as Baekhyun and Chanyeol, so this feels like the longest 18 months ever. At least D.O., Xiumin, and now Chen are back, and D.O. and Kai have dropped a couple of no skip mini albums in the meantime, so I've been surviving lol. I think you'll really enjoy the Caesar Oh guides if you really wanna learn about each member and their personalities, etc. Also, none of this really touches on the whole alien/superpower concept of the group, which is a WHOLE OTHER can of worms that I haven't even begun to dive into yet myself lol.

I’m writing to you In February 2023. I’ve been following EXO since 2019. They are my ultimate Kpop group. Chen is married and has two girls. Baekyun just this month was discharged. Only Kai and Sehun have yet to serve. The group will be back as one in 2025! EXO has done a great job of preparing MV, solos, and one recent release I’ve Got The Feeling. DO is appearing in his drama Bad Prosecutor to wild raves. I think this is the one he wanted to serve early, so he could be in it. I watch at least 10 videos a day of EXO. I’m still coming across content I haven’t seen. I still need to watch all of the concerts in whole, rather in short clips. So I’m always excited to hear reactors I haven’t heard before. Like yours. You’ve got Variety Shows, travel Shows, interviews, movies, dramas, solos, Season shows with different hosts, where the guys compete against each other, their own shows of get togethers with one or all of the members, compilations of each member plus the whole group. Enjoy. I’m looking forward to seeing your more recent reactions. By the way, Jin has just entered the military, as the first BTS member to do so.

What's it like when members enlist? It sucks, but the core fandom gets through it. The real test is if the GROUP can get through it - enlistment may cause a group to hemorrhage fans and can really kill momentum, especially if the group is smaller or not as popular to begin with. Larger groups take longer to get through enlistment, but they also have more members to keep the momentum going during that time. Super Junior, for example, saw 11 members go through enlistment over a 9-year period; at the start of 2016 they had 5 members enlisted, almost half of the group. However, they kept going with sub-groups and solo activities, and their fanbase consolidated down to a very strong core of loyal fans. Now they're all done with enlistment and back to releasing music as a group, nearly 17 years after debut. They made it through, and I have no doubts EXO will as well, being arguably way more popular and widely known than their senior group is.

the thing about kpop and military service is... it's all very dramatic at first but then i think you get used to it?? at least if you like multiple groups (it might be harder for people who only like one or two groups). i've been into kpop since 2011 and in the first few years it was a whole drama when my biases enlisted in the military but then... there are _worse_ things to happen to idols, tbh, so you kinda accept it. sure, you miss them (i miss baekhyun a lot rn)!! but then you know they'll come back so it's not that dramatic... it honestly hurts more when you get a comeback without one member because they left the group or they are on hiatus for health reasons or they got hurt during comeback preparations

I do like Cesar Oh's guides and watching them all gives you the same format, but as a Kai bias, I like Asia's First Love's (Asia's First Love is one of Kai's early nicknames) guide to Kai as it shows more of his character. I'm sure EXO-L's with other biases will be able to tell you others for their biases. Military service is compulsory because of the conflict with North Korea which has the potential to flare up at any time. Men need to complete it before they are 30 and gives South Korea a huge number of trained men to call on if necessary. At the moment, military service is a hot topic, mostly because of BTS. Very basically, although the members of BTS have stated they would be proud to serve, others feel that the amount of money and recognition they bring to the county should be taken into consideration and they should be exempted. The debate causes a lot of conflict. For the fans, some of the conflict is that other bands have to cope with enlistment - EXO and SuperM, for example, are gaining a lot of well earned interest at the moment, yet they can't tour or produce much music as they are balancing member hiatus as each one enlists. Some fans would say this makes it unfair if others don't go through it. There is also the argument of how is a value placed on one person to be exempted against another who is not. What is their value? It's a minefield. As I am not a South Korean, I feel it is not my place to state an opinion for or against. As a fan, it is heart wrenching to see each member leave, yet they usually come back invigorated. EXO's hiatus has allowed solo activities which the members would otherwise have little time to do. They are a rounded and talented group and some of that may be a result of how they are supported as individuals.

For you information Luke, soo many idols are ambassadors for huge brands. Blackpink Lisa of Celine, Rose of Yves Saint Laurent, Jisoo of Dior, Jennie of Chanel, BigBang G Dragon (THE fashion icon in Korea, not only in kpop) of Chanel, BTS of Luis Vuitton, Kai of Gucci, Aespa for Givenchy, Jackson wang (Got7) for Fendi, and so on… I could keep this list going for ages but I guess you get what I mean. Their fashion is ALWAYS next level💜

Being an EXO fan has had its joys and pains. With them losing members when the three Chinese members left was really really painful for us fans as well to the members as well. My bias enlisted in 2019 and i felt like my heart was torn out violently but i endured it and he is back and doing all kinds of activities but then the rest of EXO is enlisting and we are down to the two last members. The great thing though is that EXO has been giving us content throughout which makes it a bit bearable. But EXO is lovely and they love us fans a lot.

every boy group who hasn't enlisted before they debuted will enlist to the military. except for those who aren't korean citizens of course. not sure w/ bts since some are pushing for their exemption. it's hard as a fan not to see them during their military service & a lot of fan accounts have countdowns & posting old photos/videos so that you'll be excited to see them again. you feel proud after they finished it. in EXO, we have 2 members currently serving & 2 more to go. as suho said before, if you're happy to wait, then it's love. i don't really feel there's any other group for me so i'm happy to wait for them.

Chen just got discharged from the military last month ! In 2020 , he and his wife welcomed their first child (baby girl) and in 2022 they welcomed their second child ! Now he’s a father of 2 ~ ❤️ (When he announced that he’s getting married, he received lot of hate from kfans.) I’ve known EXO since 2013 but only became a fan of them in 2018, they are the first and the one and only Kpop group I’ve stanned even till now 😘 They have to enlist in the military before they turn 30 years. In 2019 , Xiumin was the first EXO member to enlist. Even though we all knew he’d go to military, it was kinda hard. But since it’s something that’s definitely gonna happen one, all we got to do is wait 😂❤️And even when already 6 of them enlisted, every time someone new enlists it still feels like the first time ~ 🙃 Even though they are in the military, there are some contents being released of them that they recorded before and military stuff ( like musicals). So 18 months will pass by quickly 🥺 I waited for them 3 years, now there’s only about 2 years more ! So I’ll just keeping waiting until all of them complete their military service ~ 🥰

I became exol in 2021. As an Indian, I have been listening Singers like "Shreya Ghosal, Sonu nigam, Atif aslam " Since my childhood. So it was hard for me listen to kpop because I am more into vocals and they more focus on choreography and music only. But When I heard Exo I became fan of them, because they were the First vocalist who attracted me to kpop. In 2021 most of the members were in Military others were busy, as an new exol, I have watched their old shows on repeat and no new albums, it was hard because everyone especially BTS and NCT fans were getting updates except us. Yes it was hard. But we know it is worth to wait amd trust me it was worth to wait. Our leader "Suho" Is Back now he Finally brought members together and We got new season of "Exo ladder s3". Suho's new album, kai new album, sehun's movie. The saddest moment was I got to know Baekhyun just after his enlistment. Now waiting for him to return. 2 members left for military services that Gucci and Dior global ambassador. They will be enlist soon. We all are expecting OT9 together in a concert in 2025/26 secretely waiting for them to be together.

Sehun officially became a Global ambassador Dior, making Sehun Dior Global Ambassador "the first man in the world.

Luckily for me as a fan, I have 2 biases in EXO. While the other one is in the military, the other members still gives me content as soloists. But everyone miss seeing them all together. Even if you have a bias, it's stil different if they're together.

I know I'm two months late but hi!! on enlistment - I've been a fan of exo since they debuted (that's 10 years ago!!) it's really strange for members to be gone during enlistment. obviously it's sad and we miss them, but more than that the members being enlisted generally just means Less of EXO until they're all done with military service. it's the quietest time to be an exo fan, as strange as that sounds! when South Korean men enlist, its not like they're being sent over seas, many of them have perfectly banal desk jobs or even become crosswalk guards. but the south korean and north korean boarder is extremely tense so its not uncommon to be stationed at the boarder simply to monitor it. they act much more like a police force than a true military since they aren't in active combat, but maintaining the enlistment system means if they were to ever go into combat the country wouldn't be scrambling to train up men to fight.

Exo called the king of vocals so it's expected to have such great and strong vocals. Every and each member in exo is so talented!! As you can see this guide was good in 2020 but for this year you should check out the guides for the individuals members by ceaser oh, those are the most updated out there. About the military law, i think that normal citizens in Korea need to go to the military around eighteen years old. For korean celebrities the law says that they have to enlist until they are 28 years old. About BTS situation it's a bit different since they are huge in the world wide and their profits are really good for the name of south Korea, but i was reading lately that even a huge group like them cannot escape from the law, and jin+ suga or only jin will have to go to the military next year or in the end of this year if I'm correct. About been an a fan while the members in exo are enlisting is a bit hard, take chen for example when the message of his marriage came out a lot of the korean fans didn't liked it and they started to scatter hate everywhere and they even wanted him out of exo, so one approach in those situations is to send the idol to the military or to not updated anything about him, in chen's case he was quite for like 3/4 months without any updates, and then he released his song hello, and after that he enlisted into the military. When he was there in the military we got like two updates together with the unit he was serving in, and then there were no more updates except of the news his wife gave birth to their second child so it was hard as a fan. He came back lately and uploaded a video into his RU-vid channel where he sang one of his b-sides in his second album and everyone were so excited!!! On the other hand there is a member that his name is chanyeol and he is the main rapper in exo and he is still serving in the military, but he is participating in a musical inside of the military so we get a lot of updates from him+ he filmed a lot of videos before he enlisted and they are releasing in his RU-vid channel in every 27 in the month, so to be a fan in those times is really depends about the amount of the updates that we get on each member

All able-bodied native Korean males must serve 18 months in the military or conscripted public service before the age of, I think, 30. (They used to be required to serve a full 2 years before the age of 32, but a few years ago the South Korean government reduced the service time and age limit.) It's just a requirement as a Korean citizen. This is how they insure that they always have a fresh and ready group of soldiers. Technically, the Korean War is still going on, it has never actually ended. So although they currently have a truce with North Korea, South Korea needs to always be on alert and ready just in case North Korea decides to attack. So Korea's military is always active. All male Kpop stars who are native South Korean will take a hiatus at some point to serve their country, so we fans are left waiting for the members to return. All the members of EXO have been or currently are in the military, except Kai and Sehun, who are the youngest members of EXO. Kai and Sehun are now 28 years old, so they will most likely be enlisting before the end of this year. EXO won't be all back together again until 2024-25. Kpop group members will hardly ever all enlist at the same time because while some of the members are on hiatus the other members need to continue activities in order to keep the group in the public eye. And while in the military, it is against the law for them to do anything except their military duties or whatever their public service job they are assigned to is. So Korean men are granted time off from their jobs or career to serve. Military service is actually looked at as a big honor, and although Idols are sad to have to leave fans and take a break from their careers, they embrace their service as a duty to their country and a right of passage. But most of the time entertainers are not just serving like a regular soldier, often they petition to be part of activities that keep them working in entertainment type jobs, such as acting in military themed musicals and plays, part of the military's marching band and/or orchestra, MCs and hosts for military events and programs, they perform as the entertainment for special military showcases, are athletes in military sanctioned sporting events ( i.e. soccer games), etc. Or they may petition to serve in government jobs such as a member of the police or other public service positions. For example, several of the EXO members were part of the military's promotional team so they starred in musicals along with other idols, actors and dancers who were also serving at the same time as them; other member were part of the military band so they spent time as a musician, singer and MC as part of the entertainment for public events. So, even while they are away serving, if you search RU-vid, you can find fancam videos of most of them, where members of the public during special events have recorded the Idols as they are performing, etc. So we usually still get some content from them, even when they are on hiatus. :D

I am a fan since 2015, three members left but my love and support grew more. It's not a lie when he says that EXOL is the strongest fandom. My bias is Xiumin (first enlistment member), I obviously missed him ;-; Miss the interactions with other members during the comebacks. So the only way to deal with the feeling was to think that time would pass and he would come back.

Fun Fact: Suho and I were born the exact same day. I’ve always had such a soft spot for me because of that. We’re birthday buddies! His new song/MV Grey Suit is also really good! You should check it out! I haven’t watched a ton of their Dramas or movies yet, but I watched 100 Days My Prince with DO and he was amazing!! He’s so talented and I need to see him in more things! K-dramas are a whole other world that you should check out. I can’t watch Western tv shows anymore because K-dramas are SO much better!

EXO is my first and last idol, so when my bias go military, i wait him coz its mandatory to his country and i am proud of that. I did my another project and have some achievement in life while i wait my bias. On other hand i love another member too, so i still have content of EXO. Military is not problem for me

A lot of them have great styles and all, but most of them won’t necessarily wear gucci cause they are also ambassadors of other clothing brands. Sehun for example(the maknae) is currently a global ambassador for Dior as well.

being a fan of EXO for long , they have become a way of life. They taught me to be humble and "balance" my everyday life. When oldest member enlisted I got so emotional, I was so sad. But EXO enlisted era is not that bad actually. We had solo albums, different activities. members shine individually as well. EXO keep gaining new fans in this enlistment time. Some members were pretty active in military musicals, I'm so proud to be an EXOL. They will all be back as a complete group by 2025!!

All Korean men must enlist from 18 years old to 29....29 is the deadline, but you can get it over with at 18 years old if you want. Four Exo members have already finished their service, 2 have started last year, and the 2 youngest have yet to go. Whomever is at home at the time can make music as a group (Exo "Obsession" album was done with 6 members) or they do solo albums or busy filming for movies or dramas, they also model and are tv personaties. There aren't any intro videos that show behind the scenes or personalities, the best videos that will show that are the individual guides by CESAR OH, they're informative and shows their personalities, but also shows their talents. Korean men have to mandatory service within 30 years so from graduate high school. Korea is not over Korea war so we need strong army so every men have a duty. When I was a uni students my friends usually went to army after freshmen or sophomore.

The enlistment age limit has been changed to 28 but there is some talk about bts or idol grps that contribute greatly to the Korean economy may be excused from enlisting. Technically SKorean is in conflict with NKorea which is why they have mandatory enlisting. The newly elected SKorean President will discontinue the use of Korean age and revert to international age. Koreans are one when they are born and turn two in the new year so when their birthday comes they would be three. It’s confusing but changing the age will make everyone one year younger and allow idols an extra year to perform. EXO has had 4 members enlist and discharged (Xiumin,D.O.,Suho,Chen) and there are two who are currently enlisted (Chanyeol & Baekhyun). They will discharge Sept. 22’ and Feb. 23’. That leaves two remaining members to enlist (Kai & Sehun) There has been talk that an EXO album will be released in March or April??? Otherwise the guys are doing solo activities. As far as Lay, he is still a part of EXO but because of the strained relationship between China and Korea, he no longer is employed by SM Entertainment. Lay has a hugely successful career in China and is loved an adored by his EXO brothers and fans.

Suho has gone and returned now and we are waiting for Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Chen to come back. Kai and Sehun are the only two left needing to go. Lay is a chinese member, not sure how military works in China. It is a mandatory 18 months....more if they fail physical. This is a great guide, but CesarOh's would be better. CesarOh also made individual guides for each member of EXO and has really REALLY good theory videos about their storyline. My suggestion, begin with either Baekhyun, Kai or D.O.....or if you prefer, go in order from eldest to youngest.
