@@hughmann9568 There were only sixteen Crucible Knights... I think anyone with common sense would say that's rather exclusive... This person clearly stated Crucible KNIGHTS... not the Crucible in general...
@@SxfetyPinthere may have only been 16 knights but they’re not the only beings with the aspect of the crucible…the hippos, misbegotten, horned warriors, omens, etc could all be considered as part of the crucible, other than rellana and the two carian knights from the dlc only a handful of characters are associated with the carian royal family.
Game design at the time didnt want that i think, because there's also a sword that by description should allow you to cast soceries with it, but didnt actually do that. But now the DLC now actually have a sword that lets you cast soceries with heavy attacks
@@jessewilliams6459Parrying: the practice of interrupting an enemy’s attack with the use of a shield, breaking their stance and creating the opportunity for a riposte.
How much I wish their sword was actually a catalyst weapon. Like instead of blocking it would cast spells. That would be great. It does not do this unfortunately
My only complaint about the entire game is that our story picks up when the Lands Between are Empty. Or doni have it all wrong? Do regular people just going about their day not exist in the Lands Between? I just wish there were more people inside this beautiful world rather than being empty
Honor their knights with magical objects, exclusive spells, and mad drip? Let trolls join their military forces and gave them knightly status instead of using them as staked carriage slaves? If I had to pick a faction to side with, these folks are it.
Ranni actually let her whole family traditions die in search for the dark path of the empyrean, the only one she maintained was the moonlight greatsword, if there is any Elden Ring 2, i hope someone continues the Carian royal family.
Kinda wish they would have gotten the crucible knight treatment and been scattered around raya lucaria and liurnia of the lakes as mini bosses. Awesome design
Exactly my thoughts, lorretta is cool but I would’ve really liked to see like a carian captain. Just a super badass guy like veteran commanders as a boss fight, that would have been so dope
The carian knight sword should also serve as a catalyst for sorcery, and since it has a blocking r2 it should be able to cast sorcery when blocking with it (while two-handed obviously).
@@JAYbePRINCEat least the Sword of Night and Flame can cast spells, and it’s a proto-Carian sword. Also its flame swipe is fantastic at clearing out Pathetic Sort.
@@ALUCARDTWILLIGHTnah, you're wrong mate. Carian sorceries are a huge deal. I've seen RU-vidr SaintRiot i guess, he has crazy carian builds for invasions, check it out
I never had an ouncd of regret using the dlc sorcery sword in my first playthrough, wearing rellana's armor, and a carian sovereignty claymore as an offhand is chef's kiss I rarely gave the dlc a chance to piss me off with this build, it's so much fun
Its carian or no faction for me. Tho if were gonna be honest they have alot of family drama 😅 but this is elden ring family drama is pretty much the name of the game
We got a remake of the Troll Knight sword, shame that the Carian Sorcery Sword wasn't a remake of the Carian Knight Sword with casting Carian Sorcery as the Ash of War.
I went through an entire playthrough dressed as a carian knight. Saluted before every fight and saluted after every fight. My weapons were the carian sword and queen ranala's staff + the shield. If the Queen had an ending, I would have sided with her over that genocidal blue doll.
The short version is that they they are private mercenaries that work for, not serve this is important, the academy against the Carians. In the present the academy has mostly lost control of them and now they mostly spend their time pillaging the country side.
Ever since I got to the Academy I changed my character to a Carian Knight. Coolest faction in the game, and I love the playstyle of Sorceries and one of many swords. Feels so balanced and powerful. Hope Fromsoft fixes the new Sword/Catalyst so it actually scales with spellcasting, I have a setup I mind just for it.
@@spekter1391 first off, elden ring is not only a PvE game, cuz if it was fromsoft would have never bothered creating a new balance system exclusive to PvP. Second, it doesn't matter the way you defeat a boss, what matters is the message you are sending to others, people don't actually care if you defeat a boss using spells or summons, they get annoyed when other people (who summon or use spells) try to equate their achievements to those of people who defeat the bosses without those things, then other people tend to interpret that those who don't summon are just tilted at other people who don't play like they do, yes summons and spells are in the game by default (so fromsoft wants you to use them) and yes spells and summons make the game 10 times easier (cuz bosses are made to fight you up close and personal not from various light years away), everyone should know that the problem is those unwilling to accept the play style of others and those equating their achievements to the achievements of others.
@@1stCallipostle being that dumb must be so easy to enjoy life.. If only they made in ER a way to hold a sword and a staff in another hand.... , to enjoy both fighting style at the same time ,
@@JAYbePRINCE thats the thing its the reverse, some enjoy their game like they would for every other fkn game And here come the people that played without no magic no sword, and whatever. *To flatter they ego* And can never sh*t about it. And they get mad. When those people claimed they have finished ER. *(They did)* This is what happens when finishing elden ring without magic is the only accomplishment in life for some. At the end of the day they all Finished the game, no différences in the steam data base 🤷♂️
The thing that’s also INCREDIBLY BADASS is that the Cuckoo soldiers where mercenaries that freelanced for the Lucarian academy AND the royal family literally the Academy told them once the shattering happened they put the seals on the gates and went “Defend us and we will keep rewarding you but we don’t care who else you kill or do” And they went to attack the Carrion Royal manor. The Manor had so few men the cuckoo outmatched them I can’t remember but A LOT I mean look at all the debris in the field yet each Knight they had were loyal to the bone and the most seasoned warrior-spellblades ever and the WIPED THE FLOOR WITH THE CUCKOO. So yeah there probably one of my favorite knights or faction? In the game these and the Golden dragon knight guys in Leyndall and maybe the banished knights all just badass in lore and with cool armor!
Bear in mind. The KNIGHTS were a match for even champions of gold. Meaning they weren't equal to the knights of the capital they were equal to the champions. Do you know who is a champion of gold? Frigging radagon. These guys were NO joke
First play through was Carian knight The best play through is Carian Knight.... Just think of they could cast every Carian blade spell from their sword they had to have been insanely difficult to fight
Not to mention when the Golden Order marched on Caria, these same >20 Knights beat the Order's asses so hard THEY offered a truce to Caria Carian Knights fucking rule
there probably the very few faction a that probably have any braincells or IQ left as the carian knight have shields that require 15 intel just to use them.
I literally made a carina knight build on accident and didn’t realize until just now💀I have their full armor, shield, staff, yet to find the sword tho🥲
Were they reduced to twenty knights as a result of some catastrophe? Or where there more than twenty at some point? Strikes me as add that a military would have so few soldiers, even if they were elite.
I more and more became a carion knight by accident (wear the full set besides the helmet, use the crest talisman, sword shield and staff as main weapons) after going to the academy i even started using mostly their spells and decided to built my character mostly dex and int based
Top tier drip with High Tier magical abilities and combat prowess. These dudes are the equivalent of a super soldier squad, although their numbers are low they make it for it by being ridiculously skilled.
I'm just thinking out loud after hearing "tear drop shields." I wonder how many people in history have died because leaders wanted their armies outfitted with equipment that looked good without testing the function.
Very few. Often you were responsible for providing your own weapon, or failing that, you'd get a hand me down that clearly worked for the last guy who had it. Aesthetics definitely played into weapons design, but generally if something sucked nards it wouldn't be used.
@@1stCallipostle I kinda have to say it's survivor bias. I think many ppl/armies/individuals through history died or fell out of power because of these reasons, and that's the reason we don't hear about them : they failed and fell into oblivion. Take Asincourt for example (btw, I'm french, so my bias should be toward the frenchs). Clad armored knights, beautiful and intimidating, beaten by longbowmen and peasants using polearms. Knight armors and weapons were mastercrafts, but their cost/effectivness ratio was shit, and the day a properly organized army came to power, chivalry died. In Asincourt, it was the dam British.
