The thing is, most of the characters on the alternate universe borrow characteristics from multiple OU characters, a great example being Kira, as he borrows both OU Kira and jotaro traits. There are some characters who are almost entirely based on a single other, but still, they are all different enough to be their own unique character, or else the story would have gotten boring already.
I *mostly* agree with this video, the only hang-up I have is the section you have with Yoshikage from part 8. You missed *a lot* with him, and how he *could* be contrasted with Jotaro. So, allow me to list things you either neglected mention or forgot. 1 - both of their mothers are Holly. One is Holly Kujo, the other is Holy Joestar-Kira. You outright skipped over this in your video, either by accident or willful ignorance. I'm assuming the former over the latter, but I digress. 2 - Part 8 Kira isn't strictly a bad guy. Yes, he is narcissistic, but that is it. The panel you bring up when calling him a bad person is when he was interogating Ojiro... Who was a Serial Killer abusing his Stand to drown women at the beach. Kira saw this and took it upon himself to teach him a lesson he would never forget. How can you turn around and call him a bad person for scaring a literal MURDERER into not doing the whole murderer thing? Jotaro would have done the exact same thing, if not WORSE, so yeah, no, you're blatantly wrong here. 3 - Yoshikage, in part 8, is a doctor, specially, a marine doctor. While Jotaro was a marine biologist, it's the same general idea. Both are doctors in some way, one is a literal doctor, while the other has a doctorate in Marine Biology. 4 - Yoshikages name in part 8 is Yoshikage JOESTAR-Kira, just like his mother. If THAT is not a direct connection to Jotaro, then I don't know what is. Now, this is not to say he doesn't have traits from Kira from part 4. He most certainly does. He has a hand fetish, he has OCD, and he is narcissistic. But to say that he is ONLY a reflection of Kira from part 4 is blatantly wrong on so many levels both in his character and what he stands for in Part 8. That's all I have to say, otherwise, your video was good.
1 - I didn't mean to skip over this fact, I thought people could infer from me saying he want's to save his mother (Holly) that they are related. It's also why I named two characteristics in the dog and turtle i.e Him wanting to save his mom and being Holly's son. 2 - I never called him a bad guy just stated that they weren't the nicest of people, even the first time he meets josefumi he doesn't want to help him but wants his mom to go see a movie with him which I could never see jotaro doing. Ojiro also says theirs a murderous aura around him which implies he's like kira4. Him emotinally bullying ojiro to the point he starts taking drugs, questioning his manhood and cannibalize himself(which he told him to do) is extremely sadistic another trait if kira4. Jotaro would have beat him up and told him I'd off you if i see u do this again. 3 - I genuinely did miss this bit out of the video and could be a trait of Jotaros. 4 - Kira is never refered to as Yoshikage Joestar-Kira, not in the manga or any data books. The simple explation is the mother just kept her madien name and hyphenated it. He just goes by Yoshikage Kira taking his fathers surname name. I don't have any issue when people say jotaro is slipt between kei and kira at all. It's just that some people completely ignore all the kira traits just to fit their narrtive. @@FlaquidI think that josefumi and gappy are both josuke because of the haircut and those pins on josefumi's chest and gappy is just too obvious, so it's still possible that two character can be a counterpart.
Finally someone who agrees that Gappy and Josuke are counterparts. Idk why everyone be trying to equate Gappy to other characters. His name is literally Josuke and he lives in Morioh.
Jodio is probably Giorno Ties to organized crime plus Jodio is kinda Giornos character flipped on it's head similar to how Johnny is with Jonathan . Both Of them seem to be more willing to kill than other JoJo's. Also Lucy is most likely the Erina Counterpart as her maiden name was Pendleton so same heritage plus are somewhat similar having ties to the speed wagon foundation
Yea I didn't put Jodio yet as he is new and people still don't think he has any ties to giorno for some reason. I think the lucy and Erina counterparts match up nicely too.
Well, a lot of characters in the Steel Ball Run universe share traits of two or more characters of the original universe. A big exemple is Gyro, that share characteristics from William and Caesar, making him a counterpart of both of them. So the Yoshikage Kira from part 8 can be both the original Yoshikage Kira and Jotaro.
Eh, both Kira and Kei are probably Jotaro in different ways. I don't think alternate counterparts need to always be a one for one thing, considering it's Araki and he likes to make things weird. Hell, i'm making a Jojo storyline and some characters are like, 2 or 3 characters mashed together at once, much inspired by the case with the two i mentioned earlier, with Gappys whole deal and also Erina's counterpart being both Rina but also Lucy Steel in a way, as she even used to be called Lucy Pendleton (Erina Pendleton)
3:01 for me the jotaro counter part is clearly josefumi kuujo same last name and he also wants to save kira holly because she's a person that cared for him and saved his life and he wants to save her clearly.
The way I see it, there are two kinds of counterparts. Analogous counterparts play the same role or fill the same gap of fate. Homologous counterparts are more direct alternate versions of a character, and while they may have the same lineage, they don't necessarily contribute the same gravity as their counterparts. For example, Gyro is a homologous counterpart to Caesar, but he is analogous to Will. Lucy Pendelton Steel is analogous to Erina Pendleton, but Rina Higashikata is homologous to Erina Pendelton. My thinking was inspired by the biological and ecological concepts of analogous vs homologous structures and the niches that might have driven their evolution.
Kira is homologous to both Kira and Jotaro, though Jotaro is homologously split into his sister as well. He then goes on to join Josefumi in being simultaneously analogous to Josuke for his role in uncovering the dangerous secrets of Morioh and Jotaro for his role in the quest to save his mother Holy. Josuke is a lot of different people in a lot of different ways.
@@Flaquid Yeah, I was thinking that because they occupy the same space in the Joestar bloodline that Jotaro would have to be split across the two (/Kei and Kira are fused into Jotaro depending on your perspective) but the bloodline likely has less to with homology than just the fact that Yoshikage is Yoshihiro's offspring and Kei is Holy's offspring.
For me Kira will always be Jotaro counterpart as him and Jotaro have the same motives and since Jotaro had an influence on Josuke it makes sense for him to be the person who fused to make Gappy
Ok this is kinda dumb but Tooru and Kars Share some similarities Such as Being an ancient race of people who have lived for many years and Are both very ambitious plus similar hair colour and are both Op Could Tooru Be A Kars Parallel? Probably not but it's a fun theory lol
I heard of Jodio and he’s Giorno’s alternate counterpart. Giorno joined the mafia because he hates drugs, while Jodio gets high on drugs almost all the time.
