People are saying that guy was a Savior. I think an awesome twist would be Negan turns bad again. Its the last season anyway. The Saviors try and take over the Commonwealth anyway. Have Negan turn bad and win the war, killing Maggie at the end. Darryl and Carol escape for their show. Negan kills Maggie to end the OG show and keeps Rick and Maggies Kids. Then meanwhile CRM and Commonwealth go to war. Rick realizes his old friends and group is dead because Maggie was right and he was wrong. Now Rick fights both groups. Filling his "prophecy" from season 5 which said the world needs Rick Grimes. Morgan found those words on the map. I know it won't go that way, but I think it would be a huge twist if Negan becomes bad again.
I was thinking, how is one after another baddie group keeps popping out of nowhere, and they haven't fought each other themselves, first there's the governor, then the terminus guys, then negan's saviors, then alpha's whisperers. and now this sht
My best guess is the reapers are part of the CRM reclamation team. They where mentioned by Isabella on Fear & one of the CRM soldiers mentioned sending them in during World beyond to get the asset and eliminate the rest. Since we know what qualifies as an A or B, it wouldn't surprise me if we found out that they deemed Maggie & Georgie as B's and they are trying to capture her and destroy all of the settlements they helped like they did Omaha to prevent future threats. It would be a easy way to introduce CRM for S11
I love the Reapers. I think they will be a short-lived group like the Wolves and that they are the reason we see a burned windmill in Season picture. I think they could still be in Season 11 but only for first couple episodes.

I read somewhere that the person who blew himself up was previously a Savior. Same actor. Committing suicide to avoid questions is not new. Remeber the woman on Fear who committed suicide in front of Virginia and got buried next to Jasper's leg
Maybe Elijah broke down, because The Reapers were responsible for his sister’s death. Maggie says to Kelly, he just lost his when she was out looking for Connie. Maybe this is the group that killed Elijah’s sister. Maybe he wears the mask for a specific reason, corresponding to that.
I believe the Reapers are leftover Saviors ala Issue 168 - The Roads End. Where Negan saves the group from John who was leading a small leftover Savior group that tried to attack Alexandria directly after the Whispers War.
about the grenade... Since the knife didn't fully pierce and the arrow also didn't do alot of damage to him, it makes me think he wears some kind of kevlar armor (kevlar is designed absorb grenade srapnel really well) He pulls the pin out from under his vest so the grenade is probably positioned under his armor, thus blowing himself up into pieces, but protecting the outsiders because of the "kevlar barrier" around the grenade. I mean, it's a tv-show, but it is explainable and not THAT far fetched if u think about it.
Notification gang! Hopefully we see more of them. I could honestly see them focusing on the reapers for the first 8-12 episodes in S11 and then the rest be mainly focused on the commonwealth

I'm connecting the CRM with the Reapers. The CRM were taking people which they marked A or B and I think it has something to do with creating an army of super soldiers using the blood of the living dead. Maybe they escaped the CRM. Considering this Reaper was likely once a Savior (looks like one). He could've been taken and made into a super soldier/Reaper (now at war with the CRM and those connected like Georgie). Just a thought.
Considering they can do as many takes on a scene as they want, I'm surprised they didn't make "Pope marked you" a little easier to understand. I had to turn on closed captions just to figure out what he said

Something to interesting to note the actor who plays the reaper in the episode is also an actor who played a savior in few episodes and it’s been confirmed that he didn’t die during All Out War.
I'm really excited about this new group. I love the idea that these people banded together from failed communities it would explain them wanting Maggie so bad if she was so close to Georgie and maybe they can't find her so Maggie is the next best thing. I think Elijah has took a vow of silence. I think maybe he let his guard down and was speaking while in the woods and the Reapers took advantage and then killed his sister. Maybe he blames himself and Maggie saved him so he is keeping his mouth shut to protect people because of what happened and he views his life as 'protect Maggie'
Robert Patrick's character is for sure one of them,remember the burned bodies in trailer with Gabe and Aaron,we also had burned bodies in 10x17 by Reapers its like that's their moto to burn bodies. There is also shot of guy with AK-47 in recent trailer when Gabe is looking at him. And it is said that Robert Patrick's character will test Gabe's faith...I mean who other then the Pope himself.

Kind of weird hearing "Knoxville TN" in the episode considering a live about an hour drive away from Knoxville. I was like "Oh Georgie and Maggie was in my neck of the woods." I hope we find out what happened to Georgie. I didn't like they seemed to abandon that storyline. I was hoping, and still am hoping, Georgie leads to something bigger.

No I’m not going to say you can believe it but Wikipedia says Robert Patrick plays a character by the name of Mays so if he’s not pope who could pope be unless he goes by the name Mays But I would love it if he does wind up being pope because Robert Patrick is an amazing actor and I have liked him ever since he played the villain in the second Terminator movie

Mike Whinnet is the actor's name who plays the big guy and he was already on the Walking Dead as a savior in previous season and did not die in the war. Could be the same person or they are reusing actors.

Grenade shrapnel is actually semi predictable in the sense that Maggie and the reaper were the only two exposed, but she dropped so it’s possible it missed her. The rest of the group I’m convinced would survive, probably get a lot of cuts from bone and stuff

The actor that played the Reaper dude also played a Savior in other seasons. I dont know if they rehired the actor or hes playing the same character and the leftover Saviors have formed the Reapers but look into it.

I think the reapers are what's left of the Saviors and they're after Maggie. She left when everything went down with the Saviors and the bridge. They want revenge for Negan and he will save them and maybe Hershel, redeeming himself for Maggie.

Since they already know about the reapers when they were checking if that guy was a reaper when he said "Pope Marked you" maybe Maggie knows who Pope is and hes realising it (Her look on her face after he said that..) Another question of mine is why in the world would Maggie lead a group like that to Alexandria/Hilltop? When it is all said and done Rick struck first at the Saviors and when Maggie did not like they way things went so she packed her stuff and split.

!Comic details! So after the whisperers are dealt with a group of saviors come and try to take over Alexandria when it’s weak. Are the reapers taking that arc? With Negan putting them in line much to Maggie’s disapproval like Dwight in the comic.
They could be a faction of saviours who weren't killed or maimed at the end of 8. Who knows? Reapers pretty much gives us a clue who they are and what they do no?

I was a little frustrated with the reaper story line bc they (reapers) were hell bent on killing Maggie and anyone with her but we NEVER got an actual answer besides “pope marked you” LOL,….just think it would have been better to have an actual reason…just my thoughts have a great day all!
What if the reapers are people that rick and company destroyed. Like Woodbury, terminus, saviors etc. Survivors of the groups who teamed up to take everyone of them down. Georgie and the twins might be hearing about the group that Morgan's group are at? I think I know who Elijah is. It seems to be talk especially on IMDb that it is Morgan's son. We know how Morgan's minds go crazy at times, and he might have thought he saw his son died. Rick is the only one who met Morgan's son.
