Luffys tanks it better than anyone. Man got hit with thunder baguas blast breath coc infused hits and rebounded quick. I have this weird take that luffy can’t be killed since he already died and his heart will just hit that rhythm and he just come back to life
To be fair, the only time Kaido started even somewhat trying was when Luffy went G4 after ACOC, and he basically killed him with that. And then the only time he really went all out was when Luffy went G5. And by that point Kaido’s internal organs were probably mush from all the dura neg attacks he took, on top of the fact that he was carrying the island and it was noted it was draining his stamina
@@jocoolshow Luffy is matching Devine Departure with hai own Attack. Luffy is on another level now. He used Kaido as a jump rope for crying out loud 😂. Luffy would split the skies with shanks and have their surroundings reacting to their strength. Waves 🌊 and the whole nine yard
@@carlosbautista2247 Words ! Luffy is totally worth 3 billion, not that CAPtain Kiddo who relies a lot on his DF and didnt really progress from the day he got demolished and sent to jail by Kaido
I agree with the first part but I don’t believe that luffy can’t die anymore. That would be stupid for the plot because there will be no steaks or dangers for luffy and the viewers won’t worry anymore. Sure we know he is the main character and he can’t die because of the plot but to outright make it an ability or a fact is too much
Hate to be that guy but it's foreshadowed so hard Luffy is dying at the end Bois. After the surgeries in Impel Down and Marineford and all the battles and stress the guy has been through its odds on. Would be a bitter sweet end though.
You forgot Bartolomeo. His fruit is broken af; the old guy protecting Orochi in the Oden flashback completely blocked all of enraged Oden’s attacks and we have yet to see an attack of any kind break through the barrier. Until we see otherwise, we should assume that the barrier is straight up invincible and could totally block a Divine Departure.
Bart would block the attack with ease, but could he tank it and recover? I doubt it but to your point heck yeah, I doubt Divine Departure is more powerful than a King’s Punch and that barrier stopped that punch easy. I don’t see DDeparture OHKO’ing BM or Kaido like a KPunch might (KPunch wouldn’t ever squarely land without them letting it though, making it nearly useless).
As it stands now, Barto’s Barrier is 100% indestructible. It could theoretically even block Imu’s Island erasing move and all of Prime Roger/WB’s attacks. Now could Barto tank any of those? Hard No, he’d get obliterated. But his Barrier is Peak Defense.
@@darthzayexeet3653 i am assuming barto barrier ability cost stamina to use. If so 1 attack should be absorb after that he should not be able to reactive. Fruit sounds way to strong
Kido got split open by Oden, he wouldn't have tanked an attack that was stronger than Odens my guy. Make it make sense at least. Im sure divine departure had to be clashed with.
@@SanjiFansCopeHarder kaido was in danger cause sword attacks are way more lethal than normal one. big mom or not kaido needed to dodge it, think about a yonko sword attack with probably the best acoc in the verse right now & probably with a supreme grade sword too.
LMAO I knew someone's gonna say it, he can probably block it I'll give you that, but eating a Divine Departure? Yeah, no shot, Mihawk is dunzo if he takes that head on 😂
The akainu, garp and whitebeard downplay is INSANE. Not only was akainu snuck and not out afterwards but whitebeard was also pissed, downplaying a pissed WB devil fruit smash is crazy. But we all know KOL downplays marines, lets see if he swich up after this chapter
I know right? Garp was equal to both Rogers and Whitebeard. At Marineford you have a sick Whitebeard but Garp is NOT sick and they have relatively the same age.
Agree with the Garp part and disagree with the Akainu part. Oda had to nerf an out-of-prime WB hard even to make his defeat make sense. Akainu wasn't doing anything to WB till WB started having heart attacks, and the moment WB got serious, Akainu got ohko. If it was, a 1v1 Akainu would have lost from a single attack cause while he was conscious, he wasn't able to move at all, which is why he fell down the chasm and is out of the fight for some time. Marco even states that WB can barely even use his haki at this point in time. He mainly was just relying on his df and raw power. Dude got snuck attacked by foddera when we have seen Ace fail to assassinate WB hundreds of times while he's sleeping. Btw if Akainu is Yonko level, like people like to say, that would mean so is Kuzan, who barely lost to him while having a DF disadvantage, which I find unlikely that the Marines had two Yonko level people at MF and struggled that hard against a dying WB.
Marco durability slept on for sure, only time I’ve seen him seriously injured in 2 grand scale wars was when Kizaru sea stone cuffed him shot lasers but still he stood conscious and kept it pushing rest of the war once getting the cuffs off. Garp also landed a strong punch and he was able to shake it off pretty quickly and again kept it pushing no problem. Give him a chance to heal and the dude is hella annoying for any top tier to put down
Zoro would see Shanks flying at him and just T pose saying "Scars on a swordsmans back is shame" and if hes still conscious then he'll say "Nothing happened"
@@michalvrabec454 i mean considering that was a indirect attack and it one shot fodders and destroyed building with the shockwave alone. imagine someone getting hit directly by his fist.
Shanks feat of oneshotting a captain of a pirate crew is better than beating some fodder, plus i think blackbeard is gonna beat garp's ass if garp were to fight him, it would be a kool fight though i just think shanks and blackbeard and people like them are above Garp RN.
Kidd got taken out because of the divine departure in combination with his own attack. People don't understand that Kidd took his own attack as well. All the top tiers (Dragon Mihawk, Kaido, Akainu, etc) can take a divine departure and be fine.
I’m sure garp can most definitely tank a student taught divine departure from someone relatively less powerful than his teacher. Gol D Roger himself surely has given garp a couple actual divine departures himself during their many duels to the death. Don’t underestimate the dawg that vice admiral garp is.
I feel like Urouge might be able to tank it since his whole thing is getting stronger from damage He did defeat a yonko commander, while kid ran from him I mean, it's just Snack, but it's better than nothing😂
I would argue for Urouge, his power is focused around taking damage, he managed to 1v1 a sweet gereral by himself while Luffy still needed a lot of help from Nami to beat Cracker, so he clearly was growing fast in power and we still didnt have a major interaction with him so i will apply what you often apply and say the later in the story he will have his showing the stronger he has to be Also just a little thing i noticed, he is the only supernova appart from BB and Bonney that has neither gone under an emperor or formed any alliances to take down an emperor
There is something you are missing: Kid was not prepared to see Shanks like that, he was loading his Danmed Punk. I don’t think he would have been one shot like that if he were prepared
Agreed. Pretty sure Kidd would get one shot by a close range full charged King Punch even if he tried to block though. Not that it matters in the context of this discussion but I digress.
Kid is getting one-shotted from any serious Advanced Conqueror's attack. Literally nothing in the story has ever once suggested otherwise. There's a reason Oda refused to have Big Mom use it on Kidd and Law. If Kidd could've tanked one, Oda would've SHOWN us in that fight.
@@Shark-hn4mv What about Ikkoku Sovereignty? Big Mom blasted Kid with one. Also, Law can tank a Thunder Bagua. So if Law can tank a Thunder Bagua, then so can Kid.
Nope Shanks cut through his awakening, Killer, and him. Shanks feats are so crazy that it has ppl trying to justify what happened XD. It’s not as if Kid didn’t see him or like he can’t move while using his awakening, that’s basically saying his awakening is useless bc he’s a sitting duck. Personally I think Shanks is Luffy’s final opponent so it makes sense that he’s this strong
Are we assuming Divine Departure is outputting more than a King’s Punch? I wouldn’t be surprised if a King Punch did the same thing to Kidd even from Shanks’ fleet range, but the condition to pull it off is just too absurd to be useful.
My list would be : - ( apart from OGs) Kaido Big mom Zoro ( but only 1 hit ) Blackbeard Luffy (g5) Buggy King ( if his fire is on ) And yes hypothetically dragon if he is what people assume him to be.
I think Blackbeard, Kaido, Big Mom, Mihawk, Akainu, Aokiji, Garp, and Luffy are gonna be able to keep fighting after getting hit by a divine departure. But I think Hancock, Crocodile, Jimbei, Doflamingo, Yamato, Kuma, Marco, Katakuri, and Zoro are gonna get hit and barely be conscious and can't fight from one hit and not be completely knocked out like Kidd was. My reasoning is simple, Kidd wasn't using Haki as much as those people I mentioned. Crocodile, you could argue, but I think he's much stronger now just due to the marineford war and where he stands now. But I think in order to survive a blow from Shanks, you have to be at a certain level of Haki to survive, and Kidd was not at that level, which is why he got one shot.
Only one im taking out is mihawk. I think mihawk and shanks are some of the fastest and hardest hitting characters but neither has crazy durability, their just harder to hit
Kid’s durability is nothing to sleep on, he’s got better durability/endurance feats than most of those secondary characters u listed and I’d argue it’s actually pretty close to Zoro’s. The guy was tanking Big Mom & Hawkins voodoo attacks at the same time at one point and continued to take more BM attacks as the fight went on. Shanks divine departure is just op & folding majority of characters, only a very small percentage has a chance of taking it I’d imagine
@Hands McGee yes but he doesn't have Haki defense, which is what I'm getting at. Big Mom never used Conquerers Coating on Kidd or Law she didn't have a chance too because Kidd and Law were fighting at long range but that's my point if she hit them with Conquerers haki coating they would have been heavily wounded or unconscious. Law got hit by a Thunder Bagua and was unable to attack not saying Kidd isn't a tank because he is but he has shown that Haki can be something to hurt him and with his haki being so low against Shanks is a main reason he lost.
@@CosmicValentine The whole point is who can handle tanking the divine departure not who can block it with their haki beforehand. If we’re talking who can tank it with their durability like Oden did for example, I’d say pretty much the top tiers have a chance or characters with built in hax defences. Warlords definitely not or Doffy or Kat as they not nearly durable as Kid. Kid also more durable than Law. It’s not that his haki is so trash it’s more so that Shanks’s haki is so powerful in this case, combine that with an unexpected speed blitz and yea like 99% of the verse getting one shotted too bruh
The Garp disrespect is crazy, and the fact that he's not even mentioned is even more crazy. We know for a fact that Garp was going toe to toe with Roger, the man who taught Shanks this exact move, and we can easily assume from the information we have that Garp and Roger fought to the death multiple times that Garp has likely taken most of Roger's moveset, not just Divine Departure, in his prime. You can make the argument that he's old ofc, but we saw old and sick Whitebeard tank a ridiculous amount of damage at Marineford, and he wasn't a natural tank like Big Mom or Kaido. Garp might be old, but unlike Whitebeard, he's not sick, and the difference in health/energy should be very obvious when you look at the agility difference between Whitebeard at Marineford and Garp now. Whitebeard at Marineford was very slow, and only in crucial moments did he push his body to move fast during a fight, such as with Akainu, or Blackbeard. On the flip side, the first thing we see Garp do coming into Fullalead Island is jump off a ship that he himself sent flying into the air and use an ACoC coated attack to destroy an entire town. We then see that he's easily fast enough to break out of Kuzan's ice, and then blitz him. I think it's clear that despite both being old, Whitebeard going into Marineford was in much worse health than current Garp, and therefore we can expect that Garp is much closer to his prime than that Whitebeard was, especially when it comes to something like physical endurance. Moving on, I think that saying the man who used to fight toe to toe with the Pirate King would now get one shot by his most basic move, as you yourself argued, is somewhat egregious. Especially since Garp is still in action, and his Galaxy Impact was an attack highlighted the very next chapter after Shanks' Divine Departure. I know folks wanna say, "well it doesn't have the feat of one shotting someone like Divine Departure with Kid", and that's true, however, I think we can infer it's power based on a few factors. We know that Galaxy Impact is a Conqueror's Coated attack. Whether the attack is pure haki, or it's a haki infused shockwave, it's clearly one of the strongest ACoC attacks we've seen in One Piece. There's also the not so subtle detail that Galaxy Impact was at the end of the chapter after the chapter that ended with Divine Departure. Thinking about it from Oda's narrative point of view, the message is clear that these two attacks are supposed to be comparable.
Kid not only took the divine departure, but also his own attack blowing up in his face, an attack that send an amped Big Mom to the core of the earth. But the point Oda was trying to say was that Shanks can easily defeat Kid even without that extra damage. I do believe that means this divine departure is slightly weaker than we believe
I don’t think Blackbeard could take it, you must have missed it but when Blackbeard went up against Law, Law actually knocked him out with “Shock Willie” and not his strongest attack “Puncture Willie”. Blackbeard is getting folded by Shanks. Anybody with Advanced Conquerors should be able to take “Divine Departure”
Last sentence is 100% accurate and the story proved it during Luffy vs Kaido. But that won't stop the pseudo-intellectuals from acting like their headcannon trumps the manga.
Ben Beckman uses guns but we all know 1. He is stronger than Yassop 2. Yassop is better sniper/shooter than Ben We have yet to see if Ben has other skills This is the same concept of characters using swords but that doesn't make them just SWORDMEN same logic for Shanks using a sword but being stronger than Mihawk
They don't care about reasoning anymore bruh, all they care about is who's flexing the biggest Haki in the room. Accept the Manga moving forward for what it is...
@@JR-wf5kg brother damned punk even damaged big mom and she has durability relative to KAIDO. Obviously it played a factor into knocking kid out. Stop being dense.
Sanji too should not be able to tank this attack. Sanji has never tanked a attack with anyone who have above average Aramanent Haki let alone Ad Conq Haki.
Nah. Even Shanks probably can't just tank that kind of attack without trying to defend himself. There's no reason to think either of them have special durability.
Killer survived the divine departure directly so thanks to one piece logic endless amounts of characters would survive that attack. But this are the ones that could get hit and get up (only the ones who have enough feats) : Every yonko except for buggy and shanks, akainu, every lunarian, yamato, zoro, oden, lucci, and marco/sanji thanks to their regeneration. Characters with little or no durability feats on screen that I'm certain could also do it : Roger, whitebeard, garp, shiki, sengoku, every admiral, Mihawk, xebec, ryuma, joyboy and shanks.
Zoro has advanced conqueror's. Sanji doesn't. King is insane because he thinks defense means you can tank it. G4 Luffy had far greater durability than base Luffy yet got one-shotted. Meanwhile, the moment base Luffy unlocked ACOC, he started tanking multiple of those hits. Zoro has advanced conqueror's. Sanji doesn't. It doesn't matter if Sanji's natural durability is greater; only Zoro is taking it as the story outright gave us a clear contrast.
Start of the vid had me questioning wtf was going on. KoL actually giving Kidd props? Then I realized he gave Kidd props just to stroke off Shanks 😂, just like Oda.
Buggy will unironically be unscathed, and I think people are forgetting that this hypothetical is about taking it straight to the chest. not defending against this, that's why the pool of tanks are small. Prime whitebeard, roger, garp, sengoku and Rocks could probably keep it pushing, i'd say
I personally believe Zoro and Luffy ain't getting 1 tapped off this attack. I feel they out of 1 tap territory unless it's high tier moves. To me it wouldn't make sense for someone like Zoro for instance to still get 1 tapped and then somehow beat Mihawk soon within the story. Of course they will be damaged but still survive I say..
He said without defending themselves though. It's a completely different scenario. There's no reason to think Zoro, Mihawk, or Shanks have crazy innate durability. They'd all probably die if they just took that kind of attack head on.
@@kant12 Zoro’s endurance has always been one of his strongest characteristics. All the way back to arlong up until taking Big moms + Kaido’s attack his endurance has always been highlighted. Granted he was obviously prepared but still I don’t think he’s getting one tapped.
@@T33-y8b He's definitely getting one tapped, lol. Now if the question is if zoro can block shanks divine departure unlike kaido/big moms hakai, yeah MAYBE. He has advanced COC now so maybe its a possibility seeing as its just 1 yonko. That said, Zoro is taking a KO. He's human, even luffy with his rubber body was getting his arms dissected by mihawk. Zoro maybe got stronger and faster, but that doesn't mean he's taking a straight up sword attack, i don't even think Zoro can take a regular gunshot to the chest let alone this. Nah remember that Kaido is also part of another race, the oni race. His fruit only adds to his durability, even before he got his fruit, at like 9 years old Kaido was already part of a ton of wars and he did not have a single scar on him.
For Mihawk is not about his being able to take that damage but it’s more of him able to counter it . And if garp rivaled with Roger then he definitely can counter it . And if garp and sengoku are dang near super equal on strength , then sengoku as well . I would say dragon too . He’s a menace
but thats his question, can mihawk tank a divine departure to the stomach? nah, and neither can post-prime garp, even if mihawk “counters” it he still gets slammed by top 1
@@swim9361, yes Mihawk tanks it to the stomach. The only way he doesn't is if he doesn't have Advanced conqueror's, which is highly unlikely considering that was Zoro's strongest swordsman powerup.
