He is worth at least 12 billion and she is said to have helped create his fortune. So it's fair she got the boat. Given how murky his empire building was she may well have been willing to have him bumped off if she felt under-rewarded.

Pelorus is one of my favorite older super yachts. Beautiful lines which still stand the test of time. For me an all time classic super yacht. His third ex-wife Dasha is actually the daughter of another Russian Oligarch Alexander Zhukov.

Thanks for the video. Abramovich actually decreased in wealth due to his various holdings going down in value according to Forbes. The Chinese are now ultra wealthy and there are more Chinese billionaires vs. Russian Billionaires. Always great videos and best Yacht channel on YT.

I think that pelorus is the prettiest megayacht ever built. Topaz and dilbar have same designer, but dont look has pretty has pelorus does. Not even previous dilbar looked has pretty has pelorus.

That was nice piece of music you played for Pelorus. Very dignified, like the yacht itself. Regarding prenuptial agreements. It takes one judge to invalidate it. So they are not really bulletproof guarantees regarding the division of marital assets. The best lawyer wins.

Great videos! I helped spec' parts of this ship and remember when she was just a model in my boss's office, who was the first owner. I was on her maiden voyage, which was a diving and research trip to Costs Rica, and I couldn't believe it when he sold her. He did make a $20mill profit, which is hard to argue with! At the time my boss also owned, Coral Island (now Coral Ocean) which I had been on many times and is still stunning over 20 years later. It's now on the charter market and I hope to charter it one day soon.

In the U.K. drone rules would prevent you flying a drone at such distance. The drone must be in sight the whole time and below 400 feet. Bravely it can be seen yours is way out of sight at more than a mile. The shots you got are fabulous. Some of the best drone footage I’ve ever seen.

Those are some absolutely fabulous shots, E... Thank-you for getting up at Stupid-O'Clock in the morning for us!!! I admit, Pelorus is quite pretty as far as superyachts generally go... Not a fan of the bulging balcony bits around the forward helipad, but that's just me. Tender loading hatch is interesting. I can't imagine having 46 crew all there just to facilitate my swanning about on the seas, though... not unless I had mainmasts and cannon and a warrant from His Royal Majesty!!

Tied with Octopus as my favourite yacht. She's starting to show her age a bit with her small windows, but they do make her look bigger. I wonder how she'd look with a dark red or dark green hull. The interior is gorgeous. The bamboo deckheads scream anything but "Superyacht". Feels like a cabin on the beach in the Caribbean. They're full of detail, of character. Anything but the sterile, hotel like rooms on many yachts. If only she were faster.

What’s the musical pice you use for the sunset & Early morning montage of flying around Mega Yacht Polaris. That sequence is pure genius of timing in editing using different lighting and sound to create movement and to get the feeling that you watching something big and very impressive. The music sounds like a real classical pice but could also be well arranged Movie score.

Whoever owns it now is hopefully enjoying it very much. Yachts are the new toys of the mega rich.

Despite the fact PELORUS is much smaller, it reminds me alot DILBAR. wich i think was pretty much inspired by PELORUS shape. SERENE owned by Youri Shefler has also some PELORUS dna.

This was indeed great video footage. I do have to say however, that I don't like the aesthetics of this boat. Well just to get into the top 25 wealthiest people in the world it takes over $30.3 Billion, so my guess is the owner is in at least the top 40. The ownership/operating costs of this type of GigaYacht which you understand better than I, are something only a Billionaire can afford anyway.

Depends on how much money you have. If you have billions then 300 million is a drop in the ocean or in this case a superyacht in the ocean. It's all relative right..
