Could it be that Cain wasnt the first child of Adam and Eve. The bible usually states the linage through the males. So Cain might have married a older sister, either way Cain and Able had to marry a sister or a niece at the beginning.

Easy solution, Adam and Eve were the tribal founders and therefore the first people from a tribal point of view. Other people were around at the time but were not relevant to the biblical narrative so were not mentioned. Cain married one of them.

If we read the Genesis account with an open mind we see there were actually TWO accounts of God creating Humanity. "Let us make Man in our image" in Genesis chapter One, gives us the clue. The creation of Adam and Eve in chapter Two was a separate event altogether. The Garden of Eden was like God's "laboratory" where He would use Adam and Eve to determine the fate of the human race . . . and even more importantly . . . to establish a bloodline for the eventual birth of Jesus Christ. Just think about how it would have been for the poor woman whom Cain married! She'd be marrying the first murderer, her own relative, in fact; if she was a close relative. But then we also need to consider the Mark of Cain story line, in which if anyone finding Cain would be likely to kill him . . because he would have been a stranger to them, not having grown up in the Land of Nod. So God gave him a special mark to preserve his life, even though he'd committed that heinous crime. He was still God's "grandson" if you wanna look at it that way. I think it far more likely that Cain's wife probably didn't know much about him at all, him being a stranger and a wanderer and all. Also, note how it wasn't until Cain had been gone from his parental home for a few generations before people began calling upon the Name of the Lord. Could it be that it took Cain that long to influence the rest of humanity in the regions where he wandered? Cain wasn't a heathen; he was still a God-fearing man, still smarting for the rest of his days from God's punishment. In the wash-up, we'll never know for sure. But one thing I ask of anyone reading this . . please allow for an alternative interpretation of the six days of creation. The way I see people, especially on RU-vid, interpreting the Scriptures to suit their beliefs, it shouldn't be too hard to find a translation in which "day" can mean "epoch" or whatever. That would make far more sense than trying to squeeze the accepted 14 billion years of the universe's existence into six literal days and not appear like the raving lunatics we see these days doing just that! We don't have to believe in evolution in the slightest to accept the age of the universe. The two should be completely separate. The age of the universe has nothing at all to do with evolution. Unfortunately scholars and Christians have lumped them together. It's just more convenient to condemn scientists for believing in both concepts if they're linked.

This would be the ways to keep the male population down. It must have been a terrible time to hear them coming and your son being taken away to be thrown to the crocodiles. These stories show that helpmeet to a man has many layers of meaning, working together to accomplish something, give her opinion on matters concerning the household or relationship with husband, but also to rebuke him if she sees him thinking or doing something wrong, in a sense a prod to his conscience, that God’s Standards are not to be ignored. A Woman has much more Emotional Power over a Man than he to her, because when Eve presented the forbidden fruit to Adam, he knew exactly what she had done, which tree that fruit came from and the Commandment and Punishment told to them. Two choices were before Adam, not eat and lose a Beloved Companion, be alone again in a perfect world or eat, face God’s Wrath and Judgement together. Having never seen ir experienced death, the terrible loss it brings may have coloured his reasoning for disobedience, “ how bad could it really get ?” “ what is Death?” Instead of believing that God had his best interests all along, Adam chose Chaos, a unfriendly world of predator and prey, of Death to not be separated from this Woman, even though he complained and blamed her before God, Adam could not give her up. It is a sobering message to Women and how we interact with men.

I don't know why they act like we have to guess about this when it is clearly explained in literature that is in not the Bible. The Bible story is just a synopsis of the longer story. I think the literature even gives her name, so there's really no mystery.

my thoughts are this: Cain married another being that was from Genesis 1. go back to the time when Cain was asking God to kill him instead, and God put a mark on him. who are those people (or beings) that Cain was so afraid of if they were the only humans in Eden? there are TWO Genesis. as God didn't make the rain fall anymore on Earth - the first creations were meant to be annihilated before the Garden , Adam & Eve (Genesis 2) were created.

Obedience is actually what worship is. Abraham when god told him to sacrifice Isaac, when Sara asked him what are u doing, he told his wife we are going on the mountain to worship. He was going to sacrifice what god told him too. In Abraham’s mins he was gonna obey god. He would trust God, god would raise him from the dead, something, he didn’t know but god said through Isaac he would become a great nation so the boy would be coming off that mountain. Wow just listen to the 1st and 2nd books of Adam and Eve. Cain and Abel were twins. They each had twin sisters. Over time cains decendents lured Seths decendents down from the mountain and corrupted them. The flood was told to Adam who passed the knowledge down to Seth and to Noah. All this is left out because it tells us why God flooded the earth in more depth. The story is very interesting and answers a lot of my questions about it. It is a very interesting and informative.

I was having this convo with someone over the weekend. I find it interesting that Christian folks trying to explain this never make any actual sense. Sin was sin. Incest was incest. God didnt simply allow it and then decided "Whoa whoa whoa, no more of that." What makes the most sense is that there were already other people that God created outside of Eden. The answer about the first woman is very simple, when Adam and Eve simply where orphans in the experimental garden "Eden"(food). And Yahweh simply tried to create them in his image by rearing them with his ideals of logical world-sight. Which you can expect by the (anti-religious) name "Yahweh". In Angels' Tribe proto-English "yaw-way", "astray-way". By knowing priests, so that THEIR later all told claims in his name will become "in the name of Astray-Way".

There is so much we don't know. I always wondered if Adam and Eve meant Males and Females to populate the earth. After all the bible has been translated so many times and in so many languages.

There was a genetic mutation that enabled speech in humans, "in the beginning was the word and the word was with God". The planting of grain that lead to land ownership of land and resulted in 'civilization' was rejected by God and he returned Cain to a pastoral nomadic lifestyle, where he most probably met other humans without the gene for speech and married a woman from among them. There is a genetic Adam traced by that genetic mutation that enabled speech carried on the Y chromosome, presumably all descendants of Adam carried that gene. This gave them a huge selective advantage.

Moses mother had children by her brother. Moses father was his uncle. Levi / Haitians Aaron and Miriam father also they were used by God in Exodus and Numbers.

You are implying an interpretation of scripture that is apparently not there. The Bible makes it clear that it was after Seth that Adam and Eve had daughters. One can not ignore fact, but when faith does not add up to fact, then faith forces one to think of an alternative that can go hand in hand with fact or logic. No wonder, as time goes by and people getting wiser, and with new revelations, the interpretation of scripture changes to align with reality.
