You know, at the point you paused and pondered "is this him" ... I just cried. SO much emotion, introspection (and again, wisdom) in this song. There is a piano version/video of this song by his friend/producer, Tommee Profitt "NF - Let You Down (Piano Version) - Tommee Profitt", that is just as emotional, but without the lyrics. I found & purchased the sheet music ... hope to learn to play it soon.

8:35 DUDE!!!!!! You got it! SOOOOO many don't get it until the end. I was watching it for probably the 4th time before I noticed that the older man was 'singing' the chorus!! When I noticed it (halfway thru the song) I had to start it over and watch to see when he starts singing, LOL... I felt so dumb, LMAO!!

Finally! Someone figured this out before the end of the video. I just turned 37 no "old" by any means, but this song gets me all in my feels. I've felt I've let myself down more times than I can count. To be honest if younger me were to meet me now he would kick my ass for being such a (pardon the asterisk) f*ck up.

Haha.. btw abt his voice, in Returns, theres a verse in the end referring o his funeral.. and im sure youve noticed his use of “oh lord” as an adlib often. If you want to hear how beautiful his voice is displayed and where that funeral verse is a callback from.. NF-Oh Lord, its a beautiful piece, i say that as a born non believer. I was never indoctrinated into anything so i dont use “atheist” bc its just another separating label not needed to enjoy something beautiful. Also, highly recommend Grindin’ ft. Marty, great song, and videos very concert vlog style. Lots of personality.. also a hype song. Some say its one of two vids you see him actually smile in. ❤️

Then one day I heard NF…began to listen to his catalogue and have every album signed and have been to three shows. If you get the opportunity to go to one of his shows…check em out. This song has gone 5x Platinum as of 2020 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 WOW!! I've never heard any other reactor even know, let alone recognize, that indeed it does take different parts of the brain to write rap music as opposed to music that is sung. It is very true! I was in three different choirs in high school - Group Choir, Jazz Choir, and Select Choir. I can write poetry, for lack of a better word, that can translate into ballads very well. I have also *attempted* to write rap lyrics and have been a dismal failure at it! 😆 Add to that acting, that you also mentioned...that skill is yet *another* part of the brain! I really know how amazingly talented of an artist this man really is, so thank you and good on ya for recognizing that 💖🔥💯

I typically always skip this song bc i feel like a part of Nate hates it for how mainstream it got and kinda put him into a typecasted pocket of “woe is me” music.. which isnt true, of course.
